GAMEPLAY CONTROL

D Pad
-Used for moving players, selecting play formations, and other operations.

Select Button
-Used for selecting play mode. (One player, two player, and coach mode.)

Start Button
-Used for starting plays.

A Button
-Used for hiking the ball, choosing the receiver, kicking and, other
operations.

B Button
-Used for pass plays, diving tackles, and other operations.

PLAYING OFFENSE

Hike-To begin play press the A button to snap the ball from the center to
the quarterback.

Kick-The kick meter at the top of your screen indicates you’re kicking
strength. The higher the strength the father the ball will fly.

Dodging Tackles-You can avoid being tackled by the defense by repeatedly
pressing the A button to straight arm your opponent.

Passing-To pass to a receiver select your receiver perferably an open one
with the A button and B to throw the ball to him.

PLAYING DEFENSE

Selecting Your Player-To select the player you want to control use the A
button to toggle through the players.

Diving Tackle-Use the D pad to make the player you are controlling close to
the runner. To make a diving tackle press the B button, no matter how big he
is.

Dodging Tackles-You can avoid being tackled by the offense by repeatedly
pressing the A button to straight arm your opponent.

SELECTING FORMATION

The screen to select your formation will appear after the ball is dead or
after the play is over.

Selecting Plays-Use the control pad and A to select your play.

On the Forth down a screen will come down with these options
-Cancel *Pick either a run or pass play*
-Field Goal *Try for 3 points by kicking a field goal*
-Punt Kick *Kick the ball for no points for the other team to return*

MODES OF PLAY

1 Player-Is you vs. the computer

2 Player-Is you vs. a human

Coach Mode-You control the team by selecting plays and so fourth.

TEAM INTRODUCTIONS

Indianapolis-This team has great defensive power. Their weak passing attack
is made up by their running ability.

Miami-With Marino as your quarterback, his incredible passing ability will
be the center of your offense, this offense tops the league in scoring, but
their defense is weak.

Cleveland-The powerful running back Mack and quarterback Kosar are the
center of the offense. This team has real offensive power.

Denver-Elway is a popular quarterback and is almost a one man team offense.
But the defense has its ups and downs.

Seattle-Seatle is a team with a lot of talent. They’re coming of a strong
season, but can they win the championship.

Los Angeles-The two running backs Allen and Jackson are the core of the team
and they display incredible strength as their running plays unfold. Their
defense is tough.

Washington-This is an extremely well balanced and powerful team. They are
aiming for the championship with a consistent game.

San Francisco-There are several stars on this team, including quarterback
Montana wide receiver rice and free safety Lott. They were said to be the
most powerful team last season.

Dallas-Although a traditionally strong team, last season they seemed to
weaken. But never count them out. This year with running back Walker they
aim to make a comeback.

New York-Superstar team leader Taylor holds the defense together which is
out to destroy any offense. Quarterback Simms is the key to their offense
and is counted on heavily.

Chicago-Chicago was the top in defense last year. On offense, Chicago’s
rusher, Payton has been running circles around the defenses.

Minnesota-Quarterback Kramer wide receiver Carter and running back Nelson
are the heart of the team, performing well executed plays.

HOW TO WIN

Passing-Always look for the open receiver never throw to a covered one
because it could end up an interception.

Running-Always look for the hole and go as fast as you can and make sure you
use you stiff arm to avoid tackles.

Interceptions-Control the player with the control cross and if you stay with
your opponent like a good defender, you’ll have a chance for an
interception.
