Version Final
Submitted 25/3/03
At last! I have completed this walkthrough and have no wish to make any
additions to it. No major updates whatsoever, however potentially outstanding
the material to be added is. Anyway, I can't see how you can add anything to
a FAQ for a game as simple as this.

Version 0.7
Submitted 31/1/03
Okay, so maybe this isn't the final version. But cheer up! I have added a
walkthrough for the Death Star mission.

Version 0.6
Submitted 30/1/03
Been a while, eh? Sorry. But now I bring you a brand new update for 2003. I've
updated some of the older information and added walkthroughs up to Level 7:
Death Star. Hopefully the next update will be the final one.

Version 0.55
Submitted 19/11/02
Hmmm... I haven't had _any_ emails concerning this game yet. I guess it's a
lost cause to make it, ah, what the hell, I may as well "end what I have begun"
to quote Yoda in Episode 5. OK, enough Star Wars babble - I've done another
1.5 levels for the game (5.5 down, 4.5 to go). Oh, and I hope you like the new
ASCII art I've added (I know it doesn't look like it, but those lines at the
head of each section are supposed to represent Luke's lightsabre - ah, forget
it).

Version 0.4
Submitted 11/11/02
First, I'd like to apologise for the amount of time I'm taking on this FAQ,
but I've been more interested in my recently released GameCube TimeSplitter 2
FAQ, and haven't really had time to work on this. Anyway, this is only really
a minor update - I've completed another mission walkthrough and added all level
codes so that you can get there without my help if you want. I've also added an
extra section (FAQs by me).

Version 0.2
Initial Release (submitted  28/10/02)
Completed FAQ up to and including Level 3: Sail Barge. Sorry I haven't done
more, but I just want to get this FAQ released, and I'll add to it in due
course (I've got about three FAQs on the go so I need to work on them too).

===============================================================================
This game has been on the request list for a while and either people can't
finish it or can't be bothered to write and FAQ for it, but whatever the reason
I realised it was time to take action. Thus this FAQ was born! It's not the
longest of guides (I've written longer in-depth FAQs!) but for all those who
still haven't finished it, here is a guide for you...
===============================================================================

                          4. Basics
      /-----------------------------------------+*\------/*
      \-----------------------------------------+*/------\*
===============================================================================
--a. Controls--
In case you rented it or something here are the controls for the game:

Normal Controls
---------------

A button: Jump. Double-tap to double-jump (you can hurt enemies in mid-air if
your character has a staff/lightsabre/morning star while double-jumping). When
navigating menus use to select something.

B button: If your character has a blaster/crossbow/bow press this to shoot
(hold it down to shoot continuously and use the control pad to change direction
of fire). If your character has a staff/lightsabre/morning use this to attack
(the longer you hold it down the more powerful the attack). With Luke hold B
down to deflect bullets from hostiles. Acts as a cancel button in menus.

Control Pad: Use left and right to move in those direction and use down to
crouch. Use up and down to navigate menus.

Start: Pauses game in mid-play or skips cut-scene.

Select: Navigate the main menu.

Speeder Bike Controls
---------------------

A button: No function.

B button: Shoot.

Control Pad: Move the bike up, down, left and right.

Start: Pauses game in mid-play or skips cut-scene.

Select: No function.

Millenium Falcon Controls
-------------------------

A button: Accelerate.

B button: Shoot.

Control Pad: Use left and right to move in those directions and use up and down
to change the height of the falcon and avoid obstacles (there are three degrees
of height).

Start: Pauses game in mid-play or skips cut-scene.

Select: No function.

--b. Characters--
There are a total of five characters in the game, and I've put together a
profile for each one:

Name: Luke
Description: The hero of the Star Wars trilogy, Luke is actually Leia's
brother, though he doesn't know it at the beginning of the movie. He's also a
good pilot and a strong Jedi Knight.
Weapon: Lightsabre
Levels available in: 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8

Name: Han
Description: This cocky ex-smuggler is in love with Leia and is frozen in
carbonite at the beginning of the game, and you have to rescue him from Jabba's
clutches. He hardly appears in the game despite being the best character in the
trilogy.
Weapon: Blaster
Levels available in: 6

Name: Leia
Description: This princess of the rebel alliance is available in many costumes,
and she's one of the best characters in the game. She falls in love with Han
and helps Luke rescue him from Jabba's palace, but gets made a slave.
Weapon: (Boushh) Staff (Slave) Morning Star
Levels available in: (Boushh) 1, 2 (Slave) 3 (Herself) 4

Name: Chewbacca
Description: This loveable native of Kashyyyk is available to play with, and
he has the most powerful long range weapon (even if he's a little unathletic).
He's Han's partner and co-pilot, and is therefore very loyal to the one-time
smuggler.
Weapon: Crossbow
Levels available in: 1, 2, 3, 6

Name: Wicket the Ewok
Description: A cute member of the Ewok race of furry creatures, Wicket makes
friends with Leia and as a result his tribe helps the alliance. You get to use
him in his own village fighting imperial forces.
Weapon: Bow
Levels available in: 5

Other Characters:

Lando Calrissian: He doesn't do anything, but it's as him that you'll fly the
Millenium Falcon in the last two missions.

Nien Numbo: He's your co-pilot for the two Millenium Falcon missions.

Darth Vader: He's an evil Sith Lord who's also Luke's father turned bad. In
this game you get to kill him.

Emperor Palpatine: The big bad guy at the head of the empire. You get to kill
him too, but beware of his dark side lightning attack that doesn't look as cool
as in the movie but is just as deadly.

R2D2: It isn't playable, but you'll find the little droid scattered around the
levels. Walk into it and it'll act as a checkpoint, so when you die you'll
return there.

Jabba the Hutt: This evil crime lord has had Han Solo captured and put his
frozen body on his central-chamber wall as a decoration. As Luke and Leia you
have to punish him for his crimes.

Boba Fett: The son of Jango Fett, this renowned bounty hunter chases Han in
Episode 5 and gives him to the empire who freeze him in carbonite. In this game
you have to kill him.

                         5. Walkthrough
      /-----------------------------------------+*\------/*
      \-----------------------------------------+*/------\*
===============================================================================
--a. Tatooine--

Cutscene:

VADER: Commander, I hope fo your sake the new Death Star will be completed by
the time the Emperor arrives. He is not as forgiving as I am.

ADMIRAL: Yes, Lord Vader. We shall double our efforts.

Meanwhile, on Luke's home planet Tatooine, the mysterious bounty hunter Boushh
races towards Jabba the Hutt's palace.

Selectable characters: Luke, Chewie and Leia-Boushh.

Leia-Boushh/Luke Walkthrough:
As soon as you start run forward and kill the plant with a few presses of B
and kill the bantha a little further on. When the hill starts sloping, jump
onto the first rock and kill the jawa on the second. Come up to the flat rock
where four geysers flare at intervals out of the ground. Carefully negotiate
them and kill the bantha that runs towards you. For the next slope simply
double-jump forwards to avoid it altogether. Kill the worm and double jump
heading downwards, avoiding the avian that swoops at you. Here you'll find a
hedgehog and a hidden worm thing. Leave the worm alone but kill the hedgehog
and the dog a little further on. You'll come to a slope with another avian to
avoid and many geysers. Again double-jump down it into Artoo who takes you to
the next area.

Allow yourslef to fall off the ledge and steer to the left to land on the rock
with an extra life on it. Now fall straight down to two jawas who you should
dispose of before negotiating a series of rock platforms with plants on them.
Follow the rock-ledges until you come to a cave in which you should avoid
falling stalagtites and geysers. There's another cave soon after with a couple
of enemies before a slope with a bantha at the bottom which leads to an upwards
slope. From here you'll reach a lot of stones in mid-air which you should
ignore and run to the edge. Jump across the stones (killing the jawas/plants
that threaten you) and go upwards. Eventually you'll reach a ledge with a
building in the background and a dog and avian to greet you. Kill them and get
the heart then exit the level.

Leia-Boushh/Luke Boss Walkthrough: Door Guard
This is quite a hard boss considering it's only level 1. When it pops out of
the holes in the gate double-jump-attack it, then hit it again when it hits the
ground. Repeat until it dies (the meter at the bottom tells you how much life
it has left). When it shoots lightening stay out of its way until it retreats
and wait for another opportunity.

Chewie Walkthrough:
If you chose Chewie it's going to be a rougher ride because he isn't very
agile and his crossbow is useless at close range. At the start jump over the
plant/bantha and onto the rocks. From the second rock double-jump onto the rock
above the slope and make your way to to the area with a plant and a power
boost. Shot the plant and carefully jump over the geysers and the bantha. Allow
yourself to fall to the hedgehog platform avoiding the avian. Just jump over
all the hostiles and double-jump down the slope to avoid the geysers and walk
straight into the faithful droid R2D2 who demonstrates his loyalty by taking
you to an area where there are fresh enemies who will no doubt kill you.
Thanks, Artoo.

Fall down-left to collect the extra life and shoot the plant on the opposite
platform from here. Jump up to the big ledge with the first of a series of
caves on it. In th cave you'll need to avoid the falling stalagtites and
geysers and jump over the jawas. Run up the next slope, jumping over the plants
and geysers standing in your way. You'll come to an area with buildings
(Jabba's palace? Moisture farms? Mos Eisly?) and enemies who you should give
the "jump over" treatment. Jump the next mid-air rocks to get to another
building ledge with some jawas and things. Now jump the last few rocks and exit
the level after killing the dog for a heart on the last small building ledge.

Chewie Boss Walkthrough: Door Guard
I really can't recommend taking on this boss with the Wookie but if you must
be sure to stay to one side and try to hit it when it comes out while dodging
the falling roacks. It really is making life difficult if you use him.

--b. Jabba's Palace--

Selectable Characters: Luke, Chewie and Leia-Boushh.

Leia Boushh/Luke/Chewie Walkthrough:
Wait in front of the falling iron thing then jump over it. Hack the frog thing
until it dies then kill the jawa up ahead and collect the powerup. Kill
Salacious Crumb before he jumps upwards (with Chewie stand at a distance). In
the next area you'll encountera pig guard who shoots at you so deflect with B
or jump to avoid it. Hack him and the bounty hunter behind him. Once agian kill
Salacious Crumb, and go to the next area to kill the jawa (stand on the stool
and aim downwards with Chewie) while being careful to avoid the pit. From here
onwards you'll face several more similar areas which are all pretty easy, so
it's difficult to write a varied guide for them. Just make sure that in Jedi
mode you deflect until the enemies reach you with Luke/Leia-Boushh and keep
your distance and shoot with Chewie.

When a new area starts with a pig guard and the alien pop group in the
background, you'll know you're nearly there. Get the big heart in the pit by
jumping into the middle then IMMEDIATELY jump off again. Do this after killing
pig guard no.2 to save unnecessary damage. In the final two short areas you
face a toad and three dancing slaves - no threat with Leia/Luke but you might
want to stand on the ledges and shoot downwards with Chewie. In front of Jabba
you'll face Salacious Crumb for the last time over a big pit. My advice is to
deflect his bullets back into him rather than rashly running into the fray
which will probably result in you falling into the pit.

Leia Boushh/Luke/Chewie Mini-Boss Walkthrough: Bib Fortuna
Walk forward when he's dead to face the sub-boss, Bib Fortuna. With Leia/Luke
just go all out and he'll die easily, even on Jedi setting. Howver, it's a
little harder with Chewie, and it'll take a little more skill and dodging
tactics, plus you'll need to learn to shoot from the air. When Fortuna's dead
walk to the Carbonite thing and Han falls at your feet.

Cutscene:

HAN: Who's there? I can't see.

LEIA: Someone who loves you.

HAN: Leia!

LEIA: You have hibernation sickness. Your eyesight will return soon.

JABBA: HO HO HO

HAN: I recognise that laugh.

LUKE: You will release Captain Solo to me Jabba.

JABBA: There will be no bargain Jedi.

LUKE: You'll regret this.

JABBA: I'm sure.

Luke Boss Walkthrough: Rancor Monster
You can only fight the Rancor monster with Luke (because that's what happens
in the movie). In easy and brave this is a simple matter of running up to the
Rancor and hacking like crazy, but Jedi mode will take a little more skill. Go
behind him, dodging the goop he spits and double-jump backwards, remembering
that rocks fall from holes in the ceiling. Eventually you'll triumph.

--c.  Sail Barge--

Cutscene:

Jabba's Sail Barge crosses the Dune Sea with Princess Leia and the droids on
board.

Selectable Characters: Luke, Chewie and Leia.

Leia Walkthrough:
Run forward and jump over the toad and up to the pipe from which barrels are
appearing. You can destroy the barrels, but there are infinite so don't bother.
Double jump down and you should be able to avoid both toads. Just run along
this flat area, avoiding barrels and things that poke out of holes. Kill the
pig guard for a heart. Here is a short area with pipes which leads to a big
pit. Jump over it and collect the big heart and the powerup. Go in between the
two enemies and hold B to swing round your morning star until they're both
dead.

Go to the pit and wait for the platform to come down. Jump onto it then
up to the ledge where a bounty hunter awaits the cold steel of your morning
star. Jump up to the right to find three enemies who can easily be eliminated.
Jump upwards to find a corridor containing a full heart and a powerup. Allow
yourself to fall down several ledges to come across a life. You'll be by the
pit again, so jump up and this time go to the left. Use a small platform to get
to a new corridor. It is probably easiest to clear this enemy infested area by
double jumping along it and taking off as soon as you land. You'll come to
a pyramid of barrels. Go up to the second-from-the-top to hack away at the
guard unharmed. Go down to find artoo and the checkpoint.

Go back up the pyramid and use the platforms to get up, being wary of the
people who pop out and shoot at you. Go right to find a spider you can kill
with repeated presses of B and run along to an area with many turret guns which
will kill you very quickly. To get past with minimal damage run underneath
and double jump upwards beneath each gun to kill or hurt them. Jump over any
spiders in your way. At the end of this section is a raised platform with a
spider on it. Double jump from underneath to destroy it.

Your health is probably quite low now, so go to the thin section of the
platform and crouch with down. Hold B until the section breaks away and collect
the full health heart beneath. Now run forward and avoid the final enemy to
preserve your health. You'll get to a long strip with nothing on it then Boba
Fett will appear.

Leia Mini-Boss Walkthrough: Boba Fett
Press B straight away to hurt Fett and he'll fly up. Just wait for him to
come down again then hack away at him, but make sure you're standing next to
him, NOT in him which will result in the loss of life you'll need for the boss.
Continue like this until he's dead, which really is very easy, even in Jedi
mode. Tip: You'll probably find it helpful to crouch when he's next to you, as
his bullets will fly over your head.

Leia Boss Walkthrough: Jabba the Hutt
Double jump over Jabba, and try to hurt him as you do. Now stay here on his
right and hack away with B, until little frogs he spits out come to you.
Carefully destroy these and after about thirty seconds Jabba will be no more.

Luke Walkthrough:
Luke's lightsabre is so powerful that this level is really easy, and it is
really not necessary to describe how to kill the enemies - for the most part
charging in and pressing B a lot will suffice. At the start use a cheap tactic:
charge down the corridor double-jumping and jump over the pit at the end and
you'll have done a quarter of the level very easily. You'll be low on life
though, so on this side of the pit cleave through the guard and the bounty
hunter then collect the powerup and the heart.

Now use the platforms on the pit to go upwards, and hold B while facing left
to deflect laser sent at you by a bounty hunter back into him. Jump up to the
right to find three enemies who can easily be eliminated. Jump upwards to find
a corridor containing a full heart and a powerup. Allow yourself to fall down
several ledges to come across a life. You'll be by the pit again, so jump up
and this time go to the left. Here jump over the pipes, and hold B to send a
barrel back into a bounty hunter to kill two birds with one stone. Don't jump
much, because Luke's powerful Jedi jump makes you hit goop on the ceiling
which hurts you. The only threats you face are two dancing slaves and a pig
guard. The big problem here is barrels - if you jump to avoid them you get
hurt, if you stay on the ground you get hurt. To overcome this dilemna hold B
to deflect barrels back with no damage to your life meter. When you get to the
pyramid jump up, kill the guy and walk into R2D2.

Go to the top of the pyramid and use the platforms to get up. Hold B to
deflect laser bolts back into the enemies then at the top run to the right and
keep going. Stay on the ground until you come to a platform with a spider on
it. Kill the spider and run to the weak section in the floor. Crouch and hack
away to fall into a secret area with a much-needed full health heart which
makes up for your seemingly suicidal run just now. Go over to where Boba Fett
awaits.

Luke Mini-Boss Walkthrough: Boba Fett
Boba is easy - just stand next to him and hold B to deflect bolts back into
him, and when he jumps into the air double jump up to damage him. He dies
really quickly, as Luke is the best character to choose for this level.

Luke Boss Walkthrough: Jabba the Hutt
As with Leia, stay on the right side of Jabba (no pun intended) and hack away.
When he launches frogs at you crouch and hack them to damage both them and
Jabba.

Cutscene:

Luke, Han, Chewie and Leia race to the forest moon on Endor. They must destroy
the Shield Generator that protects the new Death Star.

--d. Speeder Bikes--

Cutscene:

LUKE: Look! We must stop those scout bikers before they can warn the empire
that we are here.

Selectable characters: Luke and Leia

Luke/Leia Walkthrough:
Both Luke and Leia are the same in this mission - I can't even see a
difference of appearance - so who you choose is a matter of personal preference
in Star Wars characters. The mission is not one which lends itself to a
walkthrough, so instead here are some tips. You have to kill twelve enemies,
who fly up behind you. If you hit them, you take damage, but so do they. The
cheap tactic is simply to knock them until they die. This is fine in Easy and
just about works in Brave, but in Jedi this is not possible without dying.
Instead, avoid them until they move on ahead then use your B lasers to shoot
them. If they don't explode they will disappear for a while then come back
firing at you. Dodge their bullets and finish them off. Be aware also of trees,
which will either stand vertically anywhere in your way or lie horizontally.
If you hit them you take damage, but so do the enemy scout troopers. You can
also collect hearts to restore a little life, but they are often placed near
trees in an attempt to lure you to the danger zone. When all twelve scout
troopers die you will have completed another mission.

  New code: HJMKPL

--e. Endor--

Cutscene:

LEIA: The empire is approaching. We need your help to stop them.

Selectable characters: Wicket

Wicket Walkthrough:
You'll start off right next to some weird plant, so hold down B and blast away
at it with your bow and arrow. Collect the heart and aim upwards. Shoot the
dragon-thing there and jump over to the right side of the tree. Jump onto the
moving ledge and allow it to transport you up to the next level. Ignore the
enemies around you, as killing them will result in you being hurt even more.
Just use the ledges around you to go up to a place with a plant on a very small
ledge. Shoot it from beneath and jump up to it. Then jump over to the left and
kill a hedgehog from beneath (now just don't let the RSPCA catch you! - only
English people will understand this sad attempt at a joke). Ascend one more
level and look to the far left of the tree. Mmmm, a tasty life.

Collect it and run over to the bridge on the other side. Jump over the gaps
and you'll arrive at another tree trunk with catterpillars on it. Shoot the
first one then do an almighty SINGLE jump to the right and, as soon as you see
another tree, double jump to land. Jump to the level above to find a
full-health heart (you'll need it) and do a double-jump to another ledge with
an artoo on it. Hit him and jump over the stormtrooper. Now just run right and
a boss will appear.

Wicket Boss Walkthrough: Speeder Bike Thing (?)
I'm not quite sure what this is, but it looks a little like a speeder bike.
It's hostile whatever it is. Stand there and blast it, and when it flies over
you, duck. If it flies low double-jump over it. Either way, keep shooting it
and even in Jedi mode, the boss will die easily.

***Level complete!***
  New code: QGTHGD

--f. Shield Generator--

Cutscene:

Han, Chewie, and Leia enter the shield generator on Endor through a secret
entrance.

Selectable characters: Han and Chewie

Han/Chewie Walkthrough:
Here we go, this is the longest and probably hardest level in the game. Both
Han and Chewie are of roughly equal ability, so the same wlakthrough will apply
to both. Choose your favourite and get started (I recommend Han).

As soon as it starts run forward into the lower part and aim diagonally
upwards and destroy the gun. Jump up and run forwards. Once again, here you
must stand in the lower part and shoot diagonally upwards to destroy both
weapons. After some platforms and another gun you'll come to a door. Be careful
not to stand in front of it. A stormtrooper will soon walk out (read carefully
how to kill him, so in future I won't need to explain). Stand back and hold
down B to shoot continually at him. When you hear "Piaw" and see a dot racing
across the screen towards you, duck. Repeat this until it dies. Note that the
same applies when you are fighting two shooting enemies, only it's harder. It
is often a lot easier to run from these enemies; just jump over them. Also,
don't hang around for too long near these doors as more enemies appear soon.

Continue and you'll come to a funnel shaped floor with a thin partition. Walk
onto it and it will open, causing you to fall below. Run past the soldier here
and jump of at the end of the platform, bearing in mind that there is a gun at
the end. Fall through the floor again and you'll come to a series of platforms
and grenade launchers. You can navigate these easily, so when you reach the
bottom, quickly go left. Duck and destroy the big gun emplacement and collect
the full health heart behind it.

Fall down and you'll come to another platform, this time with two troopers on
it. Kill them and jump off the edge. You'll come to an area with two grenade
launchers and an enemy. Collect the thermal detonator on the right and use it
to dispatch them (A+B). Run past the opening and closing door to a series of
platforms that you should use to lower you to the next floor.

Here is another door and a grenade launcher. Run quickly past them and jump
over the large pit with the heart over it. On the other side kill the two
troopers (you're bound to get hurt - don't worry). Jump onto the platform on
the right when they're dead then jump up to the next one. It takes a little
practice, and you may fall off a few times, in which case you should aim left
to get back onto the first platform again. If your timing is right you'll make
it to the top. Jump off on the right to reach a slope. Keep running here or
you'll fall off. At the top is a trooper and a grenade launcher. Deal with
these threats accordingly and go to the end of the corridor. Here you will find
R2D2. Just walk into him for a checkpoint.

Now you'll find that there is an open area, which is clearer than before. Jump
onto the first platform, then the second and third. Jump off onto large
platform with two guards. Jump over them and up to a higher level (you may get
hurt by a grenade launcher there). Avoid the door and wait until you find
another platform which leads down. This area is swarming with enemies, and
you'd be well advised to avoid them completely and run to a shaft that leads
downwards, picking up a star that deals damage along the way. Down here you'll
_have_ to kill the two stormtroopers, but the star will make that easy. When
they're dead stand to the left or right of the blocks in the floor and shoot
south-west/east to destroy them. Fall through the hole you made and you'll come
to a new area.

Press and hold down to see below you and you'll notice a plaform and a
rotating gun. There are many of these in this section, and I recommend that you
don't waste time shooting them. Try to dodge their bullets using a combination
of ducking and jumping. Follow the arrows and fall down, double jumping in
mid-air and landing on the next platform. When you're near enough go right to
the next one then off to the right on a large block. From here double-jump
across the gap to another block then take the platform. It leads upwards to the
next one, from which you should go left to another block. Jump left to another
moving platform, with a heart opposite you (you'll need it!). Use the platform
to get up to another which leads up to _another_ (you may be getting bored of
this). Jump off to a block on the left or right then leap onto a tiny platform
which takes you yet further up. Jump up and you'll find yourself on a platform
with artoo and a guard. Walk into the faithful droid and then take the elevator
(press up next to the door).

At the top shoot another guard and run across the platform on which a gun and
a trooper await. Take the next elevator and get the power boost you find at the
top. Go left to the next elevator, dodging _three_ guards (*sigh*), and take it
up. Run right, and jump over a further three guards to the next door. Crouch
and shoot the grenade launcher before riding the elevator down. At the bottom
you'll have to run across another platform on the left, which is defended by
two guards and a grenade launcher. At the end is artoo and another checkpoint.

Now fall down off the left side and you'll land on a block. Take the moving
platform down to another one revolving around a turret gun. Jump off to the
right onto another one then head down. Get off onto a block on the right and
jump across the gap. Take the next moving platform then head down to the next.
Finally, jump off to the right and ride the elevator to find a corridor
swarming with enemies. It leads to the boss (phew!)

Han/Chewie Boss Walkthrough: Shield Generator
A very hard level concludes with a very hard boss. There is very little to
say, other than that this guy (machine?) takes a lot of blaster shots. You're
on a moving platform, and bomb things are being launched at you like there's no
tomorrow. Shoot the centre of the generator enough and it'll die.

--g. Death Star--

Cutscene:

LUKE: Leia, I must face Vader.

LEIA: But why must you confront him? He is evil.

LUKE: He is my father. I can feel the good in him. I must try to turn him away
from the dark side. If I fail you are the only hope for the Alliance. You are
my sister. In time you will learn to use the force as I have.

Selectable characters: Luke

Luke Walkthrough:
As soon as you start a trooper will run towards you, so take him down. A
little further on a droid and another guard will confront you; use deflect to
take them out. At the end of the passage is a gun. Jump over the pit (there's
another gun the other side) and prepare to face the big gun. Deflect and
destroy it then use the platforms to ascend to the next level (be careful; they
fall beneath your feet after a second or two). They reappear afterwards, so you
can get the heart at the top, fall back down then go back up again.

At the top is a grenade launcher lobbing the black pineapples at you. Destroy
it and kill the droid up ahead across the pit. You'll meet you're first
Imperial Pilot here. They weild powerful guns, and the safest way to survive is
to deflect back their bullets. Another awaits a few footsteps further, followed
by a pit. Jump over it, destroy the gun on the way then jump over the next one.
A small turret is at the edge of the next platform; dodge it and move on.
You'll come to a large pit which will test your jumping techniques (I don't
remember the Death Star containing large bottomless pits in the movie). Jump
and let yourself fall then double-jump. On the other side confront the guard
and destroy the tiny gun. Again use the platforms to get to the top, where
artoo detoo awaits. Walk into it for a checkpoint.

See above you? There is another set of platfroms to ascend. Jump up now,
_after_ activating the checkpoint. This way you can collect the heart at the
top as many times as necessary. You'll come to a large pit, which you should
not drop into yet. Jump over it and kill the guard in the turret the other
side. A floating droid will confront you further on, backed up by another
guard-turret. Another two await along the corridor, as well as an Imperial
Pilot and a sentry gun. Collect the life here, then return to the pit and drop
down it.

At the bottom on the right is an attack star. Collect it and use it on the six
enemies guarding this corridor, including guard-turrets, Imperial Pilots and
droids. Ascend using the platforms and again use artoo to give you a
checkpoint. Climb the platforms above your head for a powerup. Go left along
the platform and jump to the next one. Here you will meet a mini-boss.

Luke Mini-Boss Walkthrough: Death Star Droid (?)
You have to fight this droid on a platform and my advice to you is to stand
next to where you first meet it (on the left). When it comes to rest, deflect
its bullets then hack it. When it flies onto the other side stay put but
deflect its bullets. It will soon die, leaving you a full heart and a boss to
face (jump to the next platform).

Luke Boss Walkthrough: Darth Vader
Finally you get to confront your father! The battle is nothing like in the
movie but is nonetheless very difficult. Whatever you do, stay well clear of
his lightsabre. Keep double jumping and landing next to him, attempting to
damage him in the process. When he jumps, try to guess where he will land,
stand there and hack away when he does. It's not easy, as he kills you very
quickly. Good luck!

--h. Throne Room--

Cutscene:

EMPEROR: Good, good. You are indeed powerful. Now finish him and take your
father's place at my side.

LUKE: No! I'll never turn to the dark side. I am a Jedi like my father before
me.

EMPEROR: So be it. If you will not be turned, you will be destroyed.

Selectable characters: Luke

Luke Walkthrough:
Immediately jump over the door in front of you, as a trooper will come out of
it. Kill him and collect the thermal detonator. Go up to the next platform
and wait until both doors in front are open then use the bomb to kill all
three enemies at once.

Double-jump down and an imperial guard appears. He uses some weird flame
attack, so just dodge him and he'll disappear (you can't kill him). You must
hit him once for him to go away.

Moving on you must confront (meaning: jump over) two more stormtroopers on
your way to the elevator. Wait until you see a small thin line appear in the
hazy column then double jump with all your might to the platform that passes
for an elevator. It can be hard and may take a few tries, but get used to it
as all the elevators in the level are like this.

Move left along the next floor, jumoing over all obstacles (such as the two
stormtroopers and the robot). When you come to more raised platforms jump
up to a door then run past quickly, as a stormtrooper coming out will almost
certainly hurt you. Jump past a further three troopers and ride the elevator
up to the next floor, where you should activate artoo for a checkpoint.

Go forward and jump up the platforms to get over the high illuminated wall at
the far right. From there go left along the platforms, watching out for many
single doors which can really trap you when you're caught unawares. Take the
elevator upstairs, where there is another checkpoint.

Run right along the screen, using higher sections of ground to boycott the
stormtroopers below. When you come to an illuminated wall jump onto the
platforms on the left leading up-left. Many of these are single platform-doors,
so you'll need to quickly jump to the next place. When you reach the highest
point go down-left and eliminate the robot guarding a life. Go back right to
the wall and jump over it. Take the elevator up.

Activate thios checkpoint and go left along the corridor. You really have to
be sharp with your jumping here as the stormtroopers are out in force (5+
running after you at the same time!) and more join in from behind doors. Run
as far left as you can then wait for the elevator to descend.

Ride the elevator up and get the last checkpoint in the level. You'll need to
conserve life here so really make use of elevated points above the floor to
dodge guards. When the screen stops momentarily a mini-boss will appear.

Luke Mini-Boss Walkthrough: Death Star Droid (?)
This is the same droid as you fought in the previous level, so beating it
shouldn't be too hard. Just deflect his bullets and hack when he come near you
(see previous walkthrough for more details). Collect the recovery heart he
leaves you.

Luke Mini-Boss Walkthrough: Imperial Guard
Immediately after killing the droid you'll be confronted by a guard who is
more mobile than any boss so far. His attack pattern is to launch a fireball
at you then run to the other side of the screen. Just jump over his flames and
hack him before he moves again. Lose as little life as possible here as you
have to fight the emperor next.

Luke Boss Walkthrough: Emperor Palpatine
Aside from having cool music, the Emperor is the hardest and most annoying
boss in the game. He can fly (eh? that never happened in the movie!) and
launches that blue lightning at you, which takes off masses of life. The key
is to continuously double-jump then move in for a quick swipe when he
momentarily slows down. It's hard, but how easy you fight him is basically a
matter of skill and cannot be explained in words.

--i. Death Star Attack--

Cutscene:

The Shield Generator is down! Lando Calrissian and Nien Numb enter the Death
Star in the Millenium Falcon.

Selectable characters: Lando Calrissian (I think that's how you spell it)

Walkthrough:
This is the first of the game's two flying missions. They are not that easy,
but that is the fault of the control system. Learn which terrain on the floor
of the Death Star central core requires what degree of elevation (of which
there are three - see controls). I won't tell you to move up down, as the FAQ
would be a megabyte long - I'll just tell you what direction to take etc.

Carefully navigate under the pipe and through the first narrow gap you come
to. Make sure to get one of the two hearts and keep to the right so you can
destroy the TIE fighter that comes in from the left. Up ahead there is a full
heart, which leads to a low wall then a high wall (negotiate these accordingly)
which end in a passage filled with turret guns. Don't bother destroying these;
just dodge their fire until you've got past. There is another low wall then
a heart behind it which you'll probably need. Take the right path at the fork,
but be quick or you'll crash. There is a series of three low hurdles on the
left, right and left of the passage so be on your toes. When the screen widens
again you'll be in a large corridor full of hearts. Take advantage of this
section to max out your life.

You'll soon come to a very large central area. The TIEs may harrass you here;
if that's the case, roll quickly to the left or right until they're in front
then open fire. Also watch out for turrets on the walls. You will soon reach
another fork. I recommend going left, but if you want a full heart you can
negotiate the difficult right path which involves a lot of quick movement in
all directions. The path grows narrow then wide again. At the next inter-
section you MUST take the right path - the left one leads to a dead end which
will kill you (you can't turn around). There are two hurdles which lead to a
pipe infested area, so be alert. When the path merges into one there is a
wall with blocks behind it. As soon as you see this you must shoot like mad to
destroy them before you reach there. The final strip here is a  veritable
nest of turrets, but hopefully you have enough life to reach the core.

--j. Death Star Escape--

Cutscene:

LANDO: Yee Ha! The Death Star is about to explode! We've got to escape quickly!

Selectable characters: Lando Calrissian

Walkthrough:
This is very similar to the previous mission in that you're again flying the
Millenium Falcon. However, you now have the added hindrance of having to
hold down A (supposedly to accelerate, though I've noticed no change in speed).
If you don't, the screen will be filled with explosions which hurt you. There
are no TIEs to bother you at least.

Duck under the bridge and fly through this pipe area. As soon as the screen
widens go far right to take the right path. Get ready to ducj under a huge
far-reaching pipe which fills the area. Fly forward then left when you come to
a huge barrier. You must be very high to get over it. There is a small gap you
must nimbly nip through and another hurdle which leads to two horizontal pipes.
This leads to a large clearing with a protruding wall bang in the middle,
ready to crush the unsuspecting. Go right as usual and follow the path.

This is a pretty straightforward section with only a few twists and turns
and small gaps to fly through. At this point a walkthrough is pretty useless,
but I'll continue for the benefit of the really stuck. You come to a difficult
turn very suddenly, where you must fly directly right from the first
opportunity to fly through the tiniest gap in a large wall.

The path becomes extremely predictable, with you having to fly to the left,
right then left again. The path becomes very narrow, and you have to squeeze
through a tiny gap at the end of it - one slight slip and you'll crash. There
is another damned wall sticking out in the next area, avoid crashing on it at
all costs. Go left down one final pipe-infested corridor and you'll escape
just in time to see the Death Star explode! Now enjoy the ending (which
99% of the population know already).

NOTE: You must finish the game in Jedi mode to get the full ending.
