Introduction
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Popeye 2 for the Game Boy is nothing special. It is yet another video game
that has little to no documentation available on the internet that I have
decided to write for. I am using the Japanese version for this walkthrough,
though I believe the game to be the same in all regions, except for language.
If you do discover any discrepancies between my guide and the English version
of this game, please let me know by e-mailing me at Arguro AT Hotmail.com
***Update!!!***
Years after I made this guide, I discovered that my copy of Popeye 2 is
actually a bootleg from the era. I assume the game is still the same, they
usually just copy the ROM, but it is possible something in my copy was
changed or altered. I still own the game, and if you discover something you
think is inaccurate in my guide, please let me know and I can compare my copy
to yours. Thanks!

Life and Spinach Notes (POPL&S)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I this game, your life is represented by cans of spinach that can be seen in
the top left corner of the screen. You start out with three cans. If you
have five cans total, you will get a larger arm and can punch more (one brick
higher and one brick deeper). If you collect seven or more, you will throw a
can of spinach each time you punch. You have infinite cans to throw once you
reach this point.
Each time you receive damage, you will loose a can. Should you lose all
cans, you will die. There are cans of spinach hidden all over the game.
While it is nearly impossible to list them all, there will be several cans
listed within the walkthrough. Most of these are in the path you should take
to beat the level. Some are in the path to coins and other goodies. Very
few will be out of the way.
Another thing to note is that there will be coins all around this game. For
every 100 coins you collect, you earn an extra life. Lives are in short
supply, so it is wise to grab all the coins you can as you traverse through
this game.

Walkthrough
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Press Start to get to the title screen. Select the number of players (see
the Player section for more information on two player games) and you will
move to round 1-1
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 1-1: The Water Front (POP1-1)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You start out the game on a water front. The very beginning of the game is
fairly easy and reminiscent of Mario 1 for Game Boy. Walk to the right.
There will be a stack of three blocks you can attack with your punch. There
will be a can of spinach inside of them. Spinach acts as your life force.
The more cans of spinach you have in the top right corner, the more hits you
can take before dying.
Move right and jump the gap. Take out the crab and jump on the two blocks
suspended in the air. From there jump right to the next set of blocks. You
can punch the first row of blocks to gain another can spinach. Jump on top
of the breakable bricks and jump to the cloud. Jump back to the left to the
set of two blocks. The blocks with the X on them will disappear once
touched, so jump immediately after landing. Keep jumping to the left until
you land on a cloud. Punch the stack of three bricks to get a can of
spinach. Jump down and grab all the coins.
Drop off the cloud to the ground and move to the right. Go right until you
see a crab moving between two stacks of bricks, with coins in the middle and
disappearing bricks on top. Use your punch to attack the crab when it is
against the left edge. Jump up and punch the top two bricks to open it up
and move in to grab the coins. There will be a can of spinach in the
breakable bricks on the right side of the structure.
Continue to the right. Move slowly once you see a tall structure on the
right come into view. There will be a set of five bricks that fall out from
under you. They will start two left from the structure and continue to the
seventh brick. You will die if you fall with them. Jump up and start
breaking the darker bricks. There will be a can of spinach in the middle and
an invincible star near the end.
Once you have the star, move right as fast as you can. You should be able to
get to a gap that has a funny colored cloud in it before the invincibility
runs out. The cloud in the middle is a bouncy cloud (for lack of a better
term). When you jump to this cloud, you will bounce up and down
automatically. Time your bounce so you can reach the other side with ease.
Move right and enter the door to move to the next round.
You will be underground for this level. There will be several vines to climb
and lots of moving back and forth. Move right and drop down the steps. You
will land on some disappearing blocks. Quickly jump to the vine and you will
automatically grab it. Move up and jump left to get some coins. Jump back
to the vine and press down to move down the vine. Watch out for bats as you
move down.
When you reach the bottom, there will be sixteen breakable bricks in front of
you. Punch them to move past. There will be a can on spinach inside the
second column from the right. Walk across the breakable bricks and jump to
the vine. Move up and jump to the shorter vine. Keep moving up and jump to
the left when you reach the top.
Jump up and move left. Drop down into the hole and grab the coins as you
fall. You will land on some disappearing bricks, so move to the right as
soon as you fall and jump to the door on the right. There will be several
coins on either side. Go across the top to get to the other side. When you
are done, walk into the door on the bottom and you will go back to the door
near the disappearing bricks.
Drop down and wait in the little hole for the salamander to come close.
Punch him, then jump up and move right. Jump up until you see a vine. Jump
to it and move down. Jump to the vine to the right and move down to the
bottom. Don’t drop off because you will land on spikes. Instead, wait for
the salamander to move out of the way and jump to the left. Kill the
Salamander and move left. Jump to the vine and climb up. Jump left and fall
down the hole, collecting coins as you fall.
Move right, Drop down and you will land on more disappearing blocks. Move
left before they all disappear and jump up to the vine. Use it to climb
down. There will be some breakable blocks on the right. Break them and you
will find and invincible star inside. Move right and drop down, don’t use
the vine (Press down).
Jump up and left to the breakable bricks to gain another can of spinach and a
time extender. Drop back down and move left. Drop down and use the vines to
climb down. Drop all the way down, move right and climb the vines up. Jump
right and break the bricks to gain two cans of spinach. Stand on the
disappearing bricks and fall down, collecting the coins. Drop down and enter
the door to move on.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 1-3: The Cave (POP1-3)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Move right and jump up and left once you can. Grab the coins and jump to the
right. You will come to a stack of breakable bricks that contains one can of
spinach. Drop back down on the right side to gain the coins.
Keep moving right along the platforms. When you reach the next stack of
breakable bricks, you will find an invincible star in them. Grab it and
quickly move right. You should be able to get to a pile of sixteen breakable
bricks before you run out of invincibility. There will be a can of spinach
inside of the second stack. Drop down and grab the coins as you fall. There
will be a time extension in the stack of breakable bricks that you land on or
next to.
Move right. Jump the gaps and break through the bricks. There will be a
time extension in the top right brick. Keep moving right until you see a
salamander. Kill it. You can no longer move right, so jump up and left.
When you reach the top, jump back to the right. The breakable bricks will
have a can of spinach in it on the top and an invincible star in it on the
bottom. Grab the star and quickly move right.
Drop down through the hole, move left to grab the coins. Then drop down and
jump the gaps to the salamander. Kill it and move right. There will be two
cans of spinach in the breakable bricks. Grab the coins and move back left
and jump up. Jump to the right and drop down. The door will take you to the
boss.
This boss is incredibly easy if you have 7 cans of spinach. He takes ten
hits to kill. Drill him with your spinach throw if you have it. If not, you
need to punch him. He will shoot out four projectiles in a diagonal manner.
Avoid these. He will leave the edge of the screen free, so you can hide here
as he approaches you. He will jump back periodically. Just be patient and
alert and you can kill him quickly. You will rescue Sweet Pea, the baby, and
move on to the next round.
This round is essentially a bonus round. Drop down and move to the left.
Grab all the coins. Inside the bricks will be an extra life and a couple
cans of spinach. Run into the door and move on to the next round.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 2-1: Water Spouts (POP2-1)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Start out by moving right. There will be a set of five blocks that falls out
from under you. It starts with the third one to the right from under the
ceiling and goes to the eighth one. Jump it. There will be a second set
just before the wall on the right. Watch out for this one as well. Jump it
and jump up the wall. Jump to the left on the platforms then use the vines
to get across to the right.
There will be two cans of spinach inside of the breakable bricks. Break them
all and punch the mechanical Venus fly trap looking thing. Keep moving
right. Kill the next one then drop down and move left. There is a time
extension in the far left set of breakable bricks and a can of spinach in the
top half of it. There is also a can of spinach in the right one. Grab them.
Don’t drop down, it will lead to your death. Instead, jump to the vines and
jump across using them. Go to the top of the vine and jump and you should be
able to grab the next one near the bottom.
Move right. You will come to a gap that has coins over it and what looks to
be a water fountain moving up and down inside of it. You can use this to
jump across, but you can only stand on it when it is visible in the screen.
Time your jump so you are landing on it just as it reaches its apex, then
quickly jump to the vine. From there jump to the next one and jump once
again to the floor.
The floor will fall out from under you when you are seven bricks away from
the wall. Jump to the right and use the water spouts to move across. When
you reach the edge, use the spout to move up to the breakable bricks.
Keep jumping left. You will eventually reach a part where you must jump up
and move right. There will be a can of spinach in the breakable bricks.
Move to the right. The next set of breakable bricks also has a can of
spinach in it.
There will be a massive vine that you need to jump to. Jump to it quickly.
If you miss and fall, you will go to your death. Jump to the right then jump
up and go into the door. This will take you to an area with massive coins.
Grab all the coins and go out the door. You will be back to the place you
entered. Drop down and go to the right. Be aware of the falling floor.
Rather than break all the breakable blocks, just break the top four (jump and
punch). You will get a can of spinach. Use the six remaining to get to the
top set of disappearing bricks. Once you are here, book it to the right.
There will be falling things from the ceiling that can be avoided if you move
fast. When you reach the end, drop down and destroy the bricks. You will
gain a can of spinach.
Move right and jump onto the water spout. Wait until it is at its apex, then
jump up and left. Move left and you will find some coins. Grab them then
jump onto the vine, climb up and move right. Jump the large gap and land on
the next platform. The bricks contain a can of spinach. Move right more and
you will see a vine at the very edge of the screen. Jump to it,
Jump from the vine to the right. Break the bricks to get a can of spinach
then drop down and climb the vine down and jump vines to the right. Jump to
the water spout and ride it up. Jump to the left and climb the vine to get
to the door to end the round.
This level is conducted underwater and is rather tough because you do not
have a lot of time. You will gradually be sucked to the bottom, so you must
press A to stay afloat. There isnt a lot of time so you need to move fast.
There will be three sets of twelve breakable bricks in front of you when you
start. The middle one has a can of spinach in it. Quickly grab it and move
on.
You will come to a large wall of breakable bricks next. There are lots of
goodies inside, but it is fastest to break the bottom few bricks to reveal an
invincible star. Grab it and quickly swim right. You will come to a second
wall that also has a star in it near the bottom. Grab it and move up to
break through and continue right. Drop down and move under the obstruction,
rather than going up.
Keep moving right. Move up and go through the narrow path. There will
spinach in the breakable bricks blocking your path. Drop down and continue
through the bricks to get a can of spinach. You should see some coins under
an arrow pointing to the left. Grab the coins and drop down and move right,
through the breakable bricks. There will be a time extension in the first
column.
Swim through and move up. There will be a set of breakable bricks in the
corner. There will be two cans of spinach and a time extension here. Go
back and drop down and move right. Stay down.
Go through the bricks and move up. There will be spinach in the bricks. You
will come to several coins that form a long column. Follow the coins up and
you will see the finishing door that takes you to the next stage.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 2-3: The Ghost Pirate Ship (POP2-3)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will be out of the water and onto a pirate ship now. Quickly kill the
ghost that comes at you and move right. The first set of breakable bricks
contains a can of spinach. There will be a skeleton on the other side that
throws bones. Avoid these by jumping onto the mast and waiting for him to
turn his back to you before moving forward and attacking him. Kill him from
long range if you have the spinach throw.
Move to the right. Jump onto the stack of two bunks (for lack of a better
term) and jump to the top to find some coins. Drop down and continue right.
Jump up when you see some breakable bricks above your head. The second set
has an invincible star inside of it. Grab it and quickly move to the right,
killing the skeleton as you go.
Keep moving right. When you see several coins and breakable bricks on top of
a bunk, jump up there and grab the coins and break the bricks. The top left
brick has a can of spinach in it. Grab it and drop down to enter the door.
This takes you to the boss.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 2 Boss: The Mermaid (POP2-B)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This boss is super easy as well, with or without your spinach throw. She
will start on the right side of the screen and move down and pop up near the
left. Move as far as you can to the left and hold. She will come up just in
front of you and you can hit her without being hit. She takes five punches
to kill. Dispose of her quickly and you will rescue Wimpy and move to the
bonus round.
This place is filled with breakable bricks with coin deposits in the middle.
Attack the bricks and drop to the coin hole. Then jump across the gap and do
the same thing. There will be a can of spinach in the far left on the right
side (right next to the hole.
Then drop into the hole and you will land on a bouncy cloud. Attack the
bricks on either side to grab the coins, then go to the other side and do the
same. Attack the bricks on the right and move to the door to move to the
next level.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 3-1: The Pirate Ship (POP3-1)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jump up on the boxes then jump across to the ship. The first set of
breakable bricks contains a can of spinach. Move right and jump up on the
six boxes. There will be a set of six black things that fall down (you saw
them in previous levels). You can jump up and punch them. You can also
attack them with your spinach throw if you have it.
Move right. Jump on top the bunk to grab some coins then drop down and
attack the breakable bricks to gain spinach. Move right and jump the gap
with spikes in the bottom. Kill the pirate and move right. Quickly move
across the set of disappearing bricks and grab the coins as you go. There
will be a can of spinach in the set of breakable bricks on the other side.
Jump up the boxes and move up and right. You will see another set of falling
things above columns of coins. Use your spinach throw from the top of the
bunk to get rid of them, or jump off the box and punch them.
Continue right. Grab the coins as you see them and kill the pirates as soon
as possible. You will see the door not too far after. There will be a
pirate just past the door and it will try to attack you as you enter the
door, so be careful. Take it out with your spinach throw if you have it.
Enter the door and move to the next round.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 3-2: In the Crows Nest (POP3-2)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
More right, watch out for a falling spike. Kill the mist looking creature
near the vine then climb up. Jump right on to the second level that you can.
Move right then climb down the vine. Drop off and you can grab an invincible
star inside the lower set of breakable bricks. Grab it and jump to the right
to climb up a vine.
Climb to the top and jump to the right to the next vine then jump off and
land on he mast. Kill the mist creature and move right to jump to another
vine. Jump to the long vine, then drop all the way down. Move left and jump
the gap into a small area. There will be six breakable bricks that contain
an extra life. Grab it then move back to the right.
This next part is really hard. Climb back up the long vine and jump right to
the small vine. You have to then jump to either the next vine, which is
above you or to the small platform. Both are tough to do. When you jump,
press B to punch. When you punch, you move slightly to the direction you are
facing. This is the only way to move across the gap far enough without
falling. Once you are there, jump up to the vine and move left. There will
be a door that leads to some coins. Enter, grab the coins and leave by
falling down the middle.
Move right. Jump to the long vine and climb down. Grab the coins then jump
climb back up. Jump off to the right. Climb the vines right and drop down
when you see two black birds, one right after the other.
Move right and there will be a mist creature followed by an arrow made out of
coins that points down. Jump and grab as many coins as you can and fall
down. This leads you to the door that takes you to the next round.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 3-3: Under the Deck (POP3-3)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will now be under the deck of the ship. Move right and kill the pirate.
Jump up the boxes, then jump left to the platform and jump again to another
one. Jump up and move right. You will come to some moving vines with some
disappearing blocks underneath. Jump to the vine and move across using them.
You will come to a long vine which you can climb down.
Move right. Climb up the boxes. Watch out for barrels falling down on you.
Move right. When you see the breakable bricks, stand on them and take out
the barrel throwing pirate above you. Break them to find two cans of
spinach.
Move right and climb the boxes, then jump left to the platform. You must
keep moving left. There are some difficult jumps to make because of the low
ceiling, so punch as you jump to get the extra horizontal movement. If you
fall, you will land back on the boxes and the barrel throwing pirates will
come back.
Once you make it all the way to the left, you will come to a long vine you
must climb. Climb it then jump right to the next one which is moving. Jump
to the next one then to a platform. Walk right across it and then jump to
the next moving vine. Ride it across and jump to the boxes once they are in
range.
Drop down and move right. You’ll see a pirate at the bottom and another one
will throw barrels down on you. There will be two cans of spinach in the
wall of breakable bricks. Move right and jump up on the boxes, Jump left to
the platform then climb the vine up to the top. Jump to the right. Break
through the bricks and drop down and use the vine to climb down the rest of
the way. There will be a pirate at the bottom as well as the door that leads
to the boss.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 3 Boss: Stegosaurus (POP3-B)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This boss is actually though. It is a giant dinosaur that is only vulnerable
in its head. It moves its head into two different positions, up and down and
will shoot three fire balls, one straight, one diagonally up and one
diagonally down. It shoots when it is in either position.
You can only hurt it in the head. If you have the spinach throw, stay back
and attack it. If not, Wait for it to shoot the fire balls in the up
position then walk forward and attack it just as it moves down. Run left and
wait. When the fire balls come at you, jump over the first two and under the
top one. Run back and drill it as it goes up. Repeat this, being wary of
the fire balls as they shoot out at you. It takes seven punches or spinach
throws to kill.
The screen switches to that of Olive Oil. Just as you are about to rescue
her, she will be snatched away by Brutus (or Bluto or Pluto or Brute, he has
many names). Popeye will run after her to the next stage.
This one is conducted underwater. Move right and stay down. Grab the coins
and punch the breakable bricks to get a can of spinach. Keep moving right
and go through the middle of the three pathways. There will be more spinach
and coins. You will see coins that spell out POPEYE then keep moving right,
through the middle of the screen and you will see a lone breakable brick with
a one up in it. Grab it and move right to the door and round 4.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 4-1: Back at the Water Front (POP4-1)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Start out by moving right. There will be some cans of spinach inside of the
breakable bricks. Move along and jump onto the bouncy cloud in the middle of
a gap to grab some coins. Continue right.
Watch out for the Star Fish and crabs as you move right. You can use the
clouds and trees to jump up to a secret door with coins, but it isn’t worth
it because of the amount of birds that can hurt you and the fact that you can
fall.
Keep moving right. The first major wall of breakable bricks has several cans
of spinach and an invincible star in it. Move right to the second one and
you will find one can of spinach and a time extension.
Move right and the next one contains a time extension and a can of spinach.
Grab as many coins as you can and move back to the left. Jump on the small
palm tree and move back to where the bricks were. Jump up and left to a
bouncy cloud, then onto the palm tree on the right.
Jump to the cloud. Keep moving right using clouds and palm trees.
Eventually you will see the door. If you have plenty of time, you can drop
down and collect the rest of the coins. If not, just enter the door and move
on to the next round.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 4-2: Vine Climbing version 2.0 (POP4-2)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Move right, kill the salamander, climb down the vine, go through the small
hole on the left and jump across the spiked holes. Drop down again by
standing on the disappearing blocks and climb down the vine.
Keep moving down and stay on the left. You will reach a long vine. Climb
down it and there will be a door on the other side of a gap. Jump the gap
and go into the door. Grab the coins and return through the door on the
bottom.
Drop through the hole and go left. Grab the vine and climb down. Drop all
the way down, past the spikes. Kill the salamander and move right to find a
huge wall of breakable bricks. You will find three cans of spinach and one
time extension inside. Move right and climb down the vine.
Move left and climb down, then move right and jump over the spikes and climb
halfway down the vine. Jump into the little hole and climb down the next
vine on the left. There will be lots of coins here. Stand on the
disappearing blocks to continue on.
Stay left and climb down the vines. Kill the salamander in front of the
sixteen breakable bricks. The bricks contain one time extension. Climb down
the vine, jump left over the spikes and climb down the next one.
Keep moving down. You will see a set of several disappearing bricks. On the
right is a set of breakable bricks with a can of spinach and a time extension
in it. On the left is a set of two disappearing bricks. Stand here and fall
through to find the door to the next round.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 4-3: Fire and Fly Traps (POP4-3)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You start out in the top left corner of the screen. There will be some
moving vines in front of you, but ignore them. Instead, drop down and move
to the left. Jump to the right along the small platforms. The set of
breakable bricks contains two cans of spinach in the top left, but is
difficult to get into. Drop down to the lowest point and jump right.
Watch out for the mechanical Venus fly trap. Time your jump so it has just
closed when you land on the other side. Quickly punch it to kill it and move
on. Go up the vine as far as you can then jump off and move right. You will
come to a wall of breakable bricks that has nothing special in it. Move
right and jump over the fly trap when it is open.
The next set of breakable bricks contains a can of spinach. Move right and
climb down the vine. Break through the bricks and gain a time extension and
a can of spinach. Keep moving right. Watch out for the fire and keep moving
right. Climb the vine up and you will see a small moving vine that you need
to jump to.
Jump to the moving vine and ride it across. Continue moving right, staying
as high as you can. You will find a star hiding inside of a wall of
breakable bricks. I find that my game will glitch if I go into the door
here. If you game does something different, please e-mail me. I believe
this to just be a con room that wasnt linked.
Do not go down the vine. Instead, retrace your steps back to where you see a
mechanical Venus fly trap next to some breakable bricks and a vine on either
side. Go down the vine on the right. Move right and jump the gap, watching
out for the fire.
When you move right, you will see several vines above a two small holes with
five blocks in the middle. These blocks will drop the second you land, so
jump the instant you land to avoid death. Move right. Jump over the fire
and there will be two single columns of breakable bricks that contain several
cans on spinach in them and a salamander in between. Grab the spinach, kill
the salamander and go through the door on the other side to move on to the
boss.
This boss is tough. He can only take damage in the crotch. He will shoot
fire balls in sets of three. The first one will move out, move down and come
at you. You must duck it. The second one will come out, move down to the
floor and come at you. You must jump it. The third one will come out, move
over you and fall straight down at you. You must move out of the way, either
right or left. Just remember, duck, jump, move.
Move forward with each fire ball. On the third one, move close enough to
punch him once then run back to the left. After five hits, he will come
forward and his pattern will change slightly.
He takes ten total hits to kill. You can attack the fire balls with your
fist or spinach throw. When he moves forward, there will be more time in
between fireball attacks. Move forward and hit him several times then run
back to the left. After he is dead, you will rescue Olive Oil and move onto
the final boss.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Round 4-4: The Final Boss (POP4-4)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can take advantage of a glitch and kill him easily. Punch him one, then
jump over him. Jump onto the lower half of the sail and wait for him to come
towards you. Punch him and get punched at the same time, then drop down, off
to the right side. If you are both flashing and he tries to come down at
you, he will instead land on top of you.
This happens because the game things you are an extension of the sail. He
will stand on top of you and you won’t get hurt. You can continuously punch
until he is dead. It takes ten hits.
If you want to beat him normally, it will take several tries and a lot of
luck. He moves fast and has a spinach throw of his own in addition to his
punch. Jump over him as he runs at you and you will be able to land and hit
him from behind. Run to the other side and repeat. This is difficult, and
takes a lot of practice. Again, it takes ten hits to kill him.
Once he is killed, you will see Popeye punch Brutus once, then unlock the
treasure chest along with Olive Oil, Sweet Pea, and Wimpy. The credits will
then roll. Then cans of spinach will spell “END” and the game will reset.
Congratulations. You beat the game.

Codes (POPCDE)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is an examination of the sound test code, and how it relates to level
skipping. I am still testing this, but it seems that you can skip as far as
level 2-4 with this code. First you need to enter the sound test screen.
Sound Test
To enter the sound test screen, at the main menu, before pressing start,
press Left, Up, Right, Up, Left, Left Up, Right, Up, Left, Up on the
directional pad and you will be taken to the sound test screen.
From there you can change three different categories, MUSIC, SE, and ROUND.
To change music, use up and down on the directional pad. To change sound
effects (SE), use left and right on the directional pad. To change round,
use the select button.
If you set everything to the max values (19, 22, and 07 respectively) and
press start to exit then enter the game normally, you will skip to level 2-4.
If you set the values to something less, you will skip to a level between 1-1
and 2-4. Testing all the combinations will take an exceedingly long time and
I do not wish to undertake unless I receive requests to do so. I encourage
you to experiment with this odd level skip code and send me your finds. If
you are curious and want to know more combinations, e-mail me and ask. I
would like to know people are using this guide and would like me to explore
this more. Until then, I will leave it as is.
Q: How do I beat X on Level Y?
A: If something is not covered in the guide, it is either because I haven’t
finished the guide yet or I simply overlooked it. If something is missing
and it is in a part I already covered, please e-mail me and ask me. If it
has been more than 2 months since I updated and the guide is not complete,
please e-mail me and tell me to continue with the guide. I like to know my
work is used.
Q: How do I contact the author?
A: My e-mail is Arguro AT Hotmail.com You can use that address to talk to
me on MSN or use ArguroDeXill to contact me on AIM. I always leave both
online, even when I am not at the computer. Just leave a message and I will
get back to you if I don’t respond right away. Please remember that I write
all my guides to help my fellow players and I am always willing to help
through e-mail or messenger.
***Update!!!*** I find it humorous that I included instant messaging as a
wau to contact me. Two things: No one ever once used it to ask a question
about any guide I ever did, and no one uses it anymore anyway! I am pretty
sure none of those services are still active anymore.
Q: What is the highest score ever?
A: I dont know the highest ever score, but my personal best is 43,316
Q: You screwed up in a section/strategy/area/itsprobablyjustatypo! Don't
you spell check everything?
A: No, I don't. There are bound to be mistakes throughout this guide. The
only way they can be corrected is if you e-mail me and nicely explain to me
where and how I messed up. Credit will be given where credit is due. My e-
mail is at the beginning of this guide.
Q: Where can I get this game?
A: Popeye 2 is not an extremely common game, but it also isn't very well
sought after. It should be available easily online. Most game shops that
specialize in old games will probably have a copy at some point in time.
Q: Can I host this guide on my site?
A: No. I do not allow anyone to use my guides without expressed, written
permission. I do not give permission unless I am asked, specifically, about
this guide. I do not like automated e-mails. I will most likely only allow
my guide to be hosted on a small website, usually one centered around the
game or system my guide is for. For more information, see the Copyright
section of this guide, at the bottom. Use of this guide without my
permission is considered theft and will be reported to the proper
authorities.
Q: How do I contact you about this guide?
A: E-mail is the best way to do so. My e-mail can be found at the beginning
or the end of this guide, just remember to take the numbers 123 out of it
because they do not belong. I keep them there to prevent auto scanning
websites from obtaining my e-mail address. I am not big on the instant
messenger services any more, so it is unlikely that you can contact me that
way. If e-mail is not an option, you can send me a private message through
Gamefaqs message system.
Q: What other guides have you done?
A: Just simply click on the name Arguro at the very top or the very bottom
(white text in a blue box) of this guide and it will take you to my
contributor page. From there you can see all the different things I have
contributed to Gamefaqs.
Q: I really like your guides. Can I donate money to you in support?
A: If you really want to, you can send a Pay Pal payment to my e-mail
address which is at the top or bottom of this guide. Please understand that
any donated money does not mean I will name you in my guide. It also does
not mean I will do any special work for you and it certainly does not give
you any rights to host this guide or publish it anywhere. I do not want the
user to feel obligated to pay me in any means. This is a free guide for
personal, private home use. I will not reject your offer to pay me, but I do
not want you to feel it is necessary. If you do decide to donate to me,
please only donate what amount you are comfortable with, even if it is a
single penny. Once a donation is made, it is final and there will be no
refunds. This is an odd question and I debated about adding it for a long
time, but when I saw other FAQ authors had a similar question, I felt it
would be a valid addition.
