        I. Revision History

Version 1.0.- 8/22/00: First release, everything new, FAQ created.

        II. Starting The Game

 A. Start Screen

When you turn on the Game Boy, a title screen with the words "Play Action
Football" and "Push Start Button" will appear. Push the Start Button.


 B. Modes

Now you will see a screen that looks like this:

Here is a description of each of the modes:

1P VS COMP-     You will face the computer. You don't need a link for this mode.
1P PLAYOFFS-    You will select a team that you will take through the playoffs
               to the Super Bowl. A password saves your progress. You don't
               need a link for this mode.
1P VS 1P-       You will face a friend over a link. You need a link to select
               this mode.
2P VS COMP-     You and a friend will be on a team and will take on the
               computer. You need a link to select this mode.

Select one of these modes by moving the football (the cursor) next to the mode
you want to select and press the Start Button.


 C. Computer Difficulty

Now you will see a screen that looks like this:

Level 1 is the easiest, level 2 is a little bit harder, level 3 is even harder,
and level 4 is the hardest.

Select the difficulty by moving the football next to the difficulty you want to
select and press the Start Button.

Note: If you chose the mode 1P VS 1P will be skipped.


 D. The Teams

Now you will choose your team and your opponent's team (unless you selected the
mode 1P VS 1P). There are eight teams on Play Action Football to choose from.
They are:

- Los Angeles Rams
- Denver Broncos
- San Francisco 49ers
- Washington Redskins
- Miami Dolphins
- New York Giants
- Chicago Bears
- Houston Oilers

Select your team and your opponent's team by moving the football next to the
team you want to select and press the Start Button. Do the same to select your
opponent's team.


 E. Coin Toss

This will determine who receives the ball first. Whoever's logo shows is the
team that receives first.

 Pause- Start Button

 Run Faster/Break Tackles- A Button
 Dive- B Button
 Control Runner- Control Pad

 On Offense:

 Before Snap:
 Hike Ball- A Button

 As QB With Ball Behind Scrimmage:

 Runner Next To You (certain plays):
 Hand-off Ball- B Button

 Receivers Ready (certain plays):
 Pass Ball- Receiver's Direction + B Button

 Runner Ready For Toss (certain plays):
 Toss Ball- Runner's Direction + B Button

 Pass Thrown:
 Catch Ball- Go To Where Ball Would Land
 Diving Catch- B Button Towards Ball

 Kicking Ball:
 Kick/Punt Ball- A Button Twice:
                 1st Time- Aim
                 2nd Time- Power

Now I have ASCII arts for the plays. I only have the formations so far. I'm
sorry to those of you who wanted the arrows too, but I don't have them yet. I
hope to get them soon. I'm working on it...
