-=I. Introduction=-
 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

While Colin is working on Mega Man II/III, I'll start on this one :P.
Anyways, this game is a hybrid of Mega Man 4 and 5 for the NES.  It combines
four robot masters from each, and then a few extra bosses.  Anyways, I'm
known as Trace Jackson, or, sadly, more as Meowthnum1.  I go to University
of
Florida, and am 19.  Anyways, this walkthrough points out key things in the
level.  I don't see how Colin does his full walkthroughs for these games,
but
oh well.  At the beginning of the game, watch the intro.  The music is
REALLY
COOL.  Here is the description:

1st screen:

              MEGA MAN
                 IV

            >GAME START
             PASS WORD

2nd

Wily's Spaceship flies over the city, and dispatches four robots.

Third

(from left to right) Ring Man, Toad Man, Bright Man, and Pharaoh Man gather
in front of their master, Dr. Wily (a good picture of him too).

Fourth:

The city is destroyed

Fifth:

The letters represent where their pictures are.

M             D
E             R
G             .
A
             W

Sixth:

The letters represent where their pictures are.

     B A L L A D E

Seventh:

Mega Man charges up his Buster, and shoots it.

*cough*  Anyways, speaking of Colin, let's do the rest of this introduction
COLIN STYLE!

-=III. Walkthrough=-
 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Now for the Mega part of this FAQ, the walkthrough.  Again, I will only
offer
tips to help you, and a boss strategy.  This is because, if you are stuck,
no
walkthrough will help you.  This is the format for all mega man games...or
at
least, the platformers.

Remember, charge your weapon up.  ALWAYS.  Also, if you're new to Mega Man,
let me offer you a bit of advice: Spikes and large holes are _NOT_ your
friends.

-=3.01: Toad Man=-

*To defeat the large snails, shoot their eyes when their eyes open.  If it
throws its eyes at you, jump over them.  If it throws a bomb, just over it
right as it is about to explode.

*The "B" is located outside after the first snail.  It is easy to reach.
Slide under the platform, jump on the next one, and jump up to the left to
collect it.

*To play it safe, always jump over an area where you see a waterfall
covering
part of the platform from your view.

*Fall to the left when you fall down platforms to try and reach a secret
compartment.

*Immediately following that hole, fall down to the right to get an extra
life.

TOAD MAN

I've never been quite sure if this is Toad *man* or Toad Girl.  Anyways,
this
strategy is quite simple.  Go in to his lair with a charged up buster.  As
it
starts, shoot him, and then slide under him when he jumps.  Repeat this.  It
needs to be at least half-charged.  If you do this well enough, Rain Flush
will not hurt you.

After beating him, you get Rain Flush and Rush Coil.

-=3.02: Bright Man=-

*At the beginning, use your newly acquired Rush Coil to get the large P-Chip
at the start.  From now on, if you can see an item, I'll expect you to know
to use Rush Coil to get it, and do the same for out-of-reach ladders.

*The robots that fly turn the room's lights out when you shoot them.  To
reactivate them, destroy the little hand grenade type thing.  It shoots out
fireworks when you destroy it.

*You'll soon come to a room with a large gap, a switch, but no platforms.
Pull the switch, and the lights will go out.  Now jump across the platforms,
and use the switch at the end to reactivate the lights.

*After the second set, you'll get to a set of moving platforms.  When you
see
the E, allow the platform to go forward, and then start going back, and jump
across.  You should get the E, and make the platform.

BRIGHT MAN

Go in with Rain Flush.  Hit him, avoid his shots, and slide under him when
he
jumps.  Repeat until well done.

For this feat, you get the Flash Stopper.

-=3.03: Pharaoh Man=-

*Make sure to keep jumping while in quicksand, or you'll be sunk.
Literally!

*Make sure to take out the flying heads (not the mummy heads; the ones on
the
helicopter) quickly, or they'll become a big nuisance.

*Don't be afraid of the spikes near the Energy Tank.

*The A is the trickiest letter in the game to get.  When you see it (it is
in
plain sight), before you jump on the platforms, equip Rush Coil.  When you
land on the second platform, use Rush Coil, get the A, and jump to the next
platform as fast as you can.

*Let each platform sink once before you jump.

*Don't try for the 1-up that is after the A.

PHARAOH MAN

This battle is HARD.  That is, without the Flash Stopper.  Simply use it at
the start, and then jump up on to the middle platform.  Keep shooting.
You'll have to jump to hit him the last time or two, but he's easy.

For this you get Pharaoh Shot.

-=2.04: Ring Man=-

*Kill the Saturn type robots AS FAST AS POSSIBLE

*When you reach a ladder going up, go up it, and right to get the T.

RING MAN

Simple.  Dodge his Ring Boomerangs, and throw a CHARGED UP Pharaoh Shot.
He'll be gone in no time.

For this you get BEAT and the Ring Boomerang.

-=3.05: Skull Tank=-

CANNON

Use your Mega Buster for this.  When its "eye" opens, shoot at it.  It'll
normally have fireballs circling it when it opens.  A full charged shot gets
rid of it.  Simply jump over the "eye" when it comes at you.  This battle is
simple.

*When you see a large capsule, destroy it from a distance.

*When you enter the boss gate, you see Wily.  He'll run off.  As you give
chase, some other idiot drops bombs at you.  When you get to the next boss
gate, you'll face him.

BALLADE

Jump over his bombs, and slide under his jumps.  Use a charged up Mega
Buster
for this battle.  DON'T LET HIM TRAP YOU IN A CORNER.  Also don't be afraid
to use an energy tank.

Once you get him down to one line of life left, he'll leave.  As will you.
Now you are back on the stage select screen.  This time there are four robot
masters guarding Skull Castle.

-=3.06: Crystal Man=-

*To get the small energy tank, shoot the platform with a charged shot, and
use Rush Coil to get on it.  From there, jump to the small energy tank.

*For those who remember the joy of Crystal Man's stage in Mega Man 5...this
isn't too much like it.

*When you've got the choice of falling down a pit or going down a ladder,
fall down the pit to get a small energy tank and the letter W.

*When you have a choice between two ladders, take the left one to get a
large
energy capsule.

*Soon you'll reach a place where you can go up to a high platform or down a
ladder.  It doesn't matter where you go.  If you go down, you'll eventually
meet up with Fliptop.  If you go up, you'll get to a lot of small energy
capsules.

*When you get to a platform that you need to both be on, and shoot to make
it
go across, use Pharaoh Shot's ability to shoot in multiple directions.

CRYSTAL MAN

He has a unique fighting style.  He'll jump up, and shoot either one Crystal
Eye at you, or four in four directions.  Shoot him when he pauses in the air
to hurt him, and slide under him.  Make sure to avoid the Crystal Eyes!

For this you get Crystal Eye.

-=3.07: Napalm Man=-

*At the beginning, hold right when you're falling.  When you get to a screen
with fire on it, use Rain Flush.  You'll find Proto Man, who will give you
an
S-Tank, an Energy Tank, and a large P-Chip.

*The I is a bit after the mid-point.  You will see a high platform, with a
large energy capsule on it, which is on top of fire.  Drop, go to the other
side, get on, use Rain Flush AFTER you jump platforms to get the I, and
continue on.

*Soon after, you'll see an extra life that is out of reach, because, when
you
try to get it, a platform comes up, stopping you.  To get it, go to the
screen where you can see it, and use Ring Boomerang to get it.

NAPALM MAN

At the start, he'll shoot things at you.  Shoot Crystal Eye at him.  Then
he'll start jumping, and throwing Napalm Bombs at you.  Jump over these, and
shoot him some more. How unique!  This guy is a pushover.

For your troubles, you'll get the Napalm Bomb.

-=3.08: Stone Man=-

This guy looks kinda like Guts Man.

*To defeat the large hippopotamuses, shoot Pharaoh Shot up and diagonal at
them.  If you run out, use Rain Flush.

*You'll soon get to a point where you could go right or slide left.  Go
right.  You'll get the L.

STONE MAN

This battle is EXTREMELY HARD.  Use Napalm Bomb and anticipate where he's
gonna land when he jumps.  Use energy tanks as well.  He is invincible when
he laughs, and when he is in a big pile on the ground.

For this you get Power Stone.

-=3.09: Charge Man=-

This takes place on a train.

*The Y is in plain sight.  You don't even have to use Rush Coil to get it
^_^.

*This level is quite straightforward.

CHARGE MAN

This is easy.  Use Power Stone, and jump over him when he charges.  Simple.
That is only because...

You get Charge Kick and Rush Jet.

Now Skull Castle is left unguarded...or is it?

-=3.10: Skull Castle=-

*The only way to get in is if you have collected all four letters: WILY.

*Collect all the powerups.

*Shoot the machines that pull you toward them to stop them.

BALLADE

Round two.  This time, there is no escape for him.  Slide under him, and
watch out for the weapon he lays.  Jump over him when he charges.  He is a
pushover.

You get Ballade Cracker.

Now you have to escape.  Use the Ballade Cracker to shoot the explosive
capsules WHEN THEY ARE OUT OF THE REACH OF YOUR MEGA BUSTER.  Ballade
Cracker
can shoot multi-directional (like Pharaoh Shot).  You'll soon escape, and
Skull Castle will be destroyed.  Wily runs off to his Space Station.  Buy
some things, and escape with him.

-=3.11: Space Ship=-

*To defeat the large Metool cannons, hop on to the cannon itself, and shoot.

LARGE CANNON

He'll try to grab you with an arm, and he'll mimic Ballade Cracker and Power
Stone.  You've avoided these before.  Use the Mega Buster on him when the
large, bulging, white part is open to view.

*Watch out for the rockets, and use Rush Jet when you need to.

EYE

At the beginning, he'll split in to four parts, three of which are fake.
Use
Rain Flush to destroy the fake ones, and then use a charged up buster shot
to
destroy the real one.

*If you see flashing barriers, use Charge Kick to destroy them.

EYE

Yet another one.  This one is different.  He splits in two.  Shoot the one
with its eye open.  The room will change occasionally, so be on your toes!

At the end of this part, you are transported to the room that is ALWAYS in
EVERY Mega Man game.

DR WILY ROBOT: FACE

Hit its mouth with Ballade Cracker when it is open.  Dash/jump to avoid the
flashing shots shot by its ears.  When it charges at you, there is no
avoiding it, so have enough energy to survive that.  Notice that the top of
his head is Wily's personal space ship.

DR WILY SPACE SHIP

Use Ballade Cracker or Pharaoh Shot at him when you can see him.  Watch out
for the bombs that are dropped on the floor.  Every two bombs he moves.  You
follow him.  Watch out for the bouncy balls that, like the bombs, can
deflect
your shots.  WHEN YOU BEAT HIM, MAKE SURE TO JUMP IF HE MADE A PIT IN FRONT
OF YOU.  If you don't, you'll be pushed in ^_^;;.

Now sit back, and enjoy the ending.

-=4.08: Ending=-

After you beat him, he falls out of his ship, and does something that he
NEVER EVER does in other games: he BEGS FOR MERCY!  He then does the eyebrow
thing, and is pulled away.  Now you see Mega Man escaping from the ship.  At
the end, he is stuck and cannot get out.  Ballade comes to his rescue.  He
opens the last door.  He sacrifices himself.  The ship then blows up.  Now
you see Mega Man fight all of the robot masters (Toad Man, Bright Man,
Pharaoh Man, Ring Man, Crystal Man, Napalm Man, Stone Man, Charge Man,
Ballade).  You then see Mega Man looking toward the sky, and it says, "Thank
you for playing!"

For being such great people, with whom I seem to be able to talk about to a
lot.  They are all great, and you should check out their work sometime!
Thanks guys!  For Colin, I thank him for offering the challenge.  You guys
are truly > j00.  Wait...if you are greater than j00, then that
means...blargh.  Never mind.

-CJayC for being a great guy, and putting so much time in to GameFAQs

-Me (http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/recognition/11356.html) for typing
this

-Alt + 0175 for help with the charts.  Alt + 0175 isn't a person; it's the
keystroke that allows a high underscore (an overscore, if you will).
Example: ¯ yay for that.

                         -=5.03: Revision History=-

Version 1.0- the initial release of this guide.  Started this.  The
walkthrough is done up to the end of Ring Man, and the appendices are
started.

Version 2.0- The walkthrough is complete, as are the appendices.  Everything
is completely complete.

Version 3.0- Took out my email address and added the Ezboard.

                        -=5.04: Buh-Bye=-

I hope you enjoyed reading it.  Check out some of my other work some time.
Thanks!  =D.  Also, since you did read, there is something that I don't mind
telling you: when I beat this to write that was the first time I've ever
beaten the game.  I've never beaten the game before.  Yay ^_^!
