1. Introduction
=============================================================================

Back around Christmas of 1990, a little movie named Home Alone came out,
blew away the holiday competition, made millions in profits, and turned
Macaulay Culkin into an overnight success. While I enjoy the original movie,
I
hate everything that came from it and after it. Including this game. Made
quickly with a small team of programmers taken off the streets of Silicon
Valley to milk the cashcow, it fails in everything that makes a game fun.

However, I received the game for a birthday present back when I was a
mere child, and I suppose it occupied the interest of my underdeveloped brain
enough for me to actually spend twenty minutes to beat the game. I hope this
little guide will help you quickly finish this game, to continue on with your
life, content in the fact that you beat it and won't have to dirty your hands
by touching it again. So, let's begin...

2. Overview And Controls
=============================================================================

The objective of the game is simple enough: don't let Marv or Harry get
you for twenty minutes, because after then the police come to arrest them.
You aren't fast enough to outrun two grown men, however, so you are going to
have to drop traps to slow them down. That's about it. Drop traps to delay
Marv and Harry and don't let them catch you for twenty minutes.

D-Pad - Move Kevin left and right
- Hit up and down to move up and down stairs and ladders
B Button - Set traps
A Button - Pick up traps
START - Pauses the game/Shows House Map

3. The MCCallister Household
=============================================================================

The only way to stop Marv and Harry from catching you is to lure them
into your traps. There are many traps to pick up, but they all do the same
thing. If one of the villains steps on them, he'll crumple and stars will
appear above his head. He'll stay that way for about 10 seconds in the first
ten minutes, and hardly 5 in the last ten minutes. Below is an ASCII map of
the house which shows all the locations of the traps in and around the
household:

If you pause the game or get caught by Marv or Harry, the House Map
will show up. It displays your current score, the amount of time you have
left before the end of the game, and it shows your position and active traps
set. Your position is displayed by the solid green bar, and the traps'
positions are shows by the glowing bars.

4. The Magic Route To Victory
=============================================================================

To easily get far in this game, you can follow this oh-so-magical (or
programmers' mistake) route through the house over and over again to win
easily. The route is as follows:

1) When you begin, pick up traps A and B and head up the stairs to the
second floor.

2) Go left and climb the set of stairs leading to the third floor.

3) Go outside the window and shimmy down the pipe on the left side of the
house on the third floor.

4) When you reach the bottom, walk towards the treehouse.

5) Climb up the ladder to the treehouse

6) Climb across the rope to the third floor.

7) Repeat steps 3 through 6.

If you encounter Marv and Harry at any time, just place your traps.
Remember to pick up traps along the way. If you last twenty minutes, you
get to see the horrible ending.
