- Aka. Final Fantasy Adventure / Mystic Quest / Adventures of Mana.
- The game doesn't track your play time.
- Physical damage is ATP - DFP. Many enemies have two different ATP
values: one for body contact and one for their actual attack (usually
a projectile). Many enemies are also immune to certain types of damage.
- You have 16 slots for usable items and 12 slots for equipment. The
weapons you can't get rid of will take up 5 slots.
- The PSV-version gives you a few hotkeys.
- The boss fights have been tweaked on the PSV.
- The PSV-version may occasionally crash or have some other issues (eg.
once I ended up inside the wall).
- Both the amount of Exp and Lucre you receive from enemies has a random
variable.
- The max amount of money you can carry is 65 535.
- Status ailments:
- Doku: 9 hits at 5%.
- Moumoku: Things get a little dark. Nothing to worry about.
- Moogle: Unable to act, DFP drops to 0.
- Kiseki: Unable to move.
- All status ailments last 8 seconds.
- Max HP is 19 + Vit^2 / 10. Max MP pretty much directly increases
with your Int.
- Cure: 20 + Int | 20 + Int*2 (full gauge)
- When you level up, you can choose one of four different ways to build
up your stats. To reach max stats, you need to alternate between Senshi
and Madoushi.

Experience Chart
\\\ Granz ||
- You start off at Level 1 with 19 HP, 6 MP, base stats at 2 and 50 Lucre.
Item: 7x Mattock \\\ Topple Region ||
- After your escape, you'll find yourself in Topple outskirts (F7).
- Spend some time leveling up and getting used to the mechanics. When
you level up, your HP and MP is fully restored.
- If you kill all the enemies in a given area, you generally have to
move four areas away to trigger a respawn. However, if you leave at
least one enemy alive, you'll get a respawn/reroll by simply moving
one area away.
- The sword has two different basic attacks: a swing and a thrust. You
trigger the latter by pressing in a direction as you attack.
- The sword also has two different charge attacks. One is a spin attack
where you press Attack while the d-pad is on neutral. Keep holding down
Attack to continue spinning (up to 8 seconds) during which you can move
freely. The other attack is triggered by pressing in a direction when
you attack. This causes you to fly forward and back.
- Pick up the Girl near Topple, then go see Bogard northwest. Use the
Mattocks you find at his place to get through the nearby cave.
- The Girl can heal you if you use the fourth option in the menu (Soudan).
\\\ Topple ||
Shop:
2x Potion 40 L Broad Sword 60 L
3x Dokukeshi 30 L Tetsukabuto 140 L
3x Megusuri 60 L
4x Kagi 15 L
Item: Battle Axe - 150 L \\\ Marsh ||
Shop: 7x Mattock - 60 L
- You can use axes to cut down trees. Most trees leave behind a stump
that you can't pass but some are fully removed.
- You'll need Keys and Mattocks in every dungeon, so make sure you
never run out. Every dungeon has enemies that drop them, so it's not
possible to end up stuck (with maybe one or two exceptions). Locked
doors and breakable walls will respawn if you simply refresh the area,
but not if you enter from the room they lead to.
Special: Cure \\\ Vinquette no Yakata ||
- Go rest in one of the beds and the girl will teach you Cure.
Item: Gin no Kagi \\\ Marsh ||
- Go beat up the Lizardmen at the marsh to get the key to the nearby cave.
\\\ Marsh Cave ||
Items: Kusarigama (A6), Tetsu no Tate (B5), Tsuki no Kagami (Temp)
Special: Fire
Boss: Hydra
- Lower case areas in sequence (eg. a8 and a9 or c9 and d1) are connected,
usually through stairs, sometimes warps. Many dungeons have small areas
that are "outside" of the dungeon and not part of the map.
- Breakable walls are always in the middle part of the wall, and hitting
them produces noise.
- You can team up with the mage dude, but it's not strictly necessary.
- The Land Leeches are very annoying and very dangerous. There's really
not much you can do other than level up until they become manageable.
- You can use the sickle to cut grass.
[Boss]
- 24\25 ATP, 10 Exp, 90 Lucre
- Stay out of reach and use axe throws.
Shop: \\\ Wendel Region ||
Mythril Blade 562 L Mythril no Kabuto 240 L
Mythril no Yoroi 700 L Mahou no Kusuri 320 L
Mythril no Tate 505 L
- Equip any Mythril item and you can access Gaia Cave. After passing
through, you'll be joined by Bogard.
- Pick up the Mythril Helm at the shop in F12.
Shop: \\\ Ishe ||
Fire Flail 6300 L
Flame Armor 5625 L
Fire Shield 4400 L
- Get the Fire Flail but not the other ones.
- Visit Bon Voyage's house on the west side to find that your chocobo
has been upgraded into the... Chocobot? Er, anyway, you can now use
the chocobo to travel on water. You can only enter or leave the water
at a dock.
- With only two exceptions, going up a river is a waste of time.
Specifically, there's the river between the Glass Desert and the
Snowfield, and the river in the Ammonite Beach (P8).
- The next dungeon is in Lorimar, but it's also now possible to get
Flare (at D15) and then explore the Iseki no Doukutsu.
Item: Elixir \\\ Island (P3) ||
- Defeat the Seadragon(s) to make a chest appear.
Shop (N2): \\\ Ammonite Kaigan ||
Ice Armor 7350 L
Ice Shield 6200 L
[Boss] (g5)
- 175 \ 98 ATP, 170 Exp, 125 Lucre
- The Fire Shield would allow you to block her icicles, but if you got
the Ice Armor, they won't do much damage at all. In any case, you can
easily just avoid them.
- If you already have the Dragon Buster, use the spin attack at the top.
Item (nc): Dokuro no Kagi \\\ Lorimar ||
- Get the key from Cibba.
- Trophy note: This is the earliest point you can get the Item Collector
trophy. If you don't get it, no need to panic. There's still time.
- Make your way to P1 in the Floatrock Wilds (Fuyuugan no Kouya) to find
the next dungeon.
- The Icebrand is the only weapon that can easily dispatch Fire Moths
and Earth Elementals.
- The first two rooms are a good place to level up.
- You'll have to walk over lava in a couple of rooms (3*Lv dmg). You
could try to avoid the damage by getting hit by an enemy. Lava damage
also gives you a brief moment of invincibility.
[Boss]
- 135 ATP, 210 Exp, 270 Lucre
Special: Flare \\\ Fuuin no Doukutsu ||
Boss: Lich
- This isn't even a dungeon. It's just a few screens long.
[Boss]
- 170 \ 170 ATP, 175 Exp, 210 Lucre
- A really tough boss, even if you don't come here early. Your weapon of
choice is the Fire Flail. He mostly sticks to a sideways figure 8 pattern.
Stay at the bottom and move left or right accordingly as he turns to
swoop towards you. He should narrowly pass you by, while the skull
projectiles fly at your previous position.
- He will periodically fly off-screen to the left or south and then appear
from the other side. When he goes south, you have to mix things up a bit,
as it's not safe at the bottom. You need to go "up" along with him, and
then quickly get back to the bottom after he passes you by.
- You can destroy the skull projectiles by attacking them, but it's difficult
to do consistently because of the angles.
Items: Dragon Shield, Dragon Buster \\\ Iseki no Doukutsu ||
Boss: Mantis Ant
- Use Flare to destroy one of the crystals at H1. There's a bug that
prevents you from doing so if your Intelligence is already 94 or above
(which is highly unlikely).
[Boss]
- 125 ATP, 210 Exp, 240 Lucre, Sword Orb #1
- There are nasty spikes one the edges of the area (dmg=3*Lv). Instead
of approaching the boss and risking getting knocked into them, you can
just stay at the doorway and use ranged attacks.
- Equip the Rusty Sword, then step on the pedestal in B8 to make Dime
Tower appear in the desert.
- Once you complete Dime no Tou, you can't return.
Item: Dragon Mail (E1) \\\ Dime no Tou ||
Boss: Garuda
- One of the floor tiles in E8 is a switch.
- F1 is a good place to level up.
- In the original GB version, it's possible to level up beyond Lv99.
However, doing so will apparently lock the game. Haven't tested it,
though, as I only bothered to max my level on the PSV.
Item: Excalibur \\\ Mana no Seiiki ||
Lost & Found: Unicorn no Tsuno / Aegis no Tate (Mammoo)
Bosses: Julius, Julius 2, Julius 3
- After the first four screens, you'll be stuck here. Make sure you
have at least a couple of Elixirs.
- You'll finally get to use the Mana Sword here (85 ATP).
[Boss]
- Phase 1: 164 \ 100 ATP
- Phase 2: 164 \ 169 ATP
- Phase 3: 190 \ 164 ATP
- If he warps on top of you, you could end up taking multiple body
hits. Focus on healing when that happens.
