[HELP]
Dr. Franken II is not quite your dime-a-dozen platformer, as there is a
lot of backtracking present in the game. In addition to the Chateau/Castle area,
there are also six other worlds that are accessed from a hub area, the Chateau
Moat. Certain parts of each world cannot be accessed until you get items from
other worlds. This walkthrough is laid out to minimise the amount of
backtracking that must be done.

Moving Around
-------------
Franky has the basic controls of being able to run left and right, jump,
and do a running-jump. The regular jump will send you higher than a running-
jump, so if you fail to get onto a platform with a running-jump, position Franky
right underneath it and then do a standing jump up.
While many rooms can be traveled to and from by simply going left and
right on a screen, there are multiple doors in the background, and sometimes a
flashing 'EXIT' sign. When in front of one of these, press Up or Down to change
rooms. Sometimes you can go to one of two different rooms from a door, depending
on if you press Up or Down. You can only go to a specific room pressing either
Up or Down, not both.

Teleporter
----------
In the Village, you can find a Teleporter globe. When you first find it,
you must go into your menu, select your Teleporter option, and choose 'Pick Up'
and Franky will carry the teleporter with him.
The Teleporter can be dropped off with Teleporter > Drop option, but
only in buildings (the cavern in the Sea World is also considered a building).
Whenever Franky travels away from the Teleporter, he can travel back by going
Teleporter > Go To to return to wherever the Teleporter is. By using the
Teleporter, one can save on time and frustration instead of manually slogging
backwards through a route after you have picked something up.
If you get a password and then restart using your password, Franky will
have the Teleporter in his inventory.

Recharging
----------
From the Front Door, if you go Down into the Food Stores, you can then
travel right past a Secret Lab and into an Electric Room. On the left side, if
you have the Fuse item that is located in the Mine at the left end of the Forest
area, Franky can recharge his energy by pressing A in front of the doorframe on
the left side.

Oxygen
------
In the Sea World stage, Franky must also keep an Oxygen supply. There
are O2 tanks littered throughout the stage that will fully replenish your
Oxygen. If you run out of Oxygen (your Oxygen supply is indicated in the menu),
Franky automatically dies.

Shields
-------
Throughout the game, there are Shield power-ups which will automatically
give Franky 20 seconds of invulnerability to damage. Once the power-up runs out,
the Shield will reappear, and you can snag it again (if you took damage from an
enemy, Franky gets immuntity for 3 seconds - the Shield will disappear until the
immunity period disappears).

Head right and enter the next room by pressing DOWN (pressing Up shall
take you to a separate room than pressing Down).

Proceed left, dodging the falling flower pot and angel, and continue out
the left door.

Hop up the dresser and staircase and out the upper door.

Go right and outside.

Continue right across the outdoor corridor, taking either the birds
above or the guard down below to get into the next area.

Dash right. Wait until the eyeball attached to the spring begins to
rebound up before making a run right past it.

Take the left door to another section of Battlements. While avoiding
divebombing birds and some ground enemies, continue left and again up into
another room.

Head left and outside.

continue and grab the Back Door Key. Return right to the Study.

Make your way left again, avoiding or defeating several enemies

Dash left to avoid getting hit by two falling flowerpots, then grab
Matches from the end of the room. Return right and go Up in the door into the
Dining Area.

Hop onto the table to avoid the large rat on the ground, then head left
and take the door into the Stairs area.
Stairs

Jump up to the above stairs and enter the door up top.
Armoury
-------
Go down the stairs. Do NOT take the door marked 'Exit', but instead go
out to the right.
Store Room
----------
Shoot the bull enemy in here to start, then head over to the opposite
end of the room. Jump up the boxes to grab a shield that will grant you
temporary invulnerability (once the effect disappears, the shield reappears in
this room). Continue heading out right.
Boiler Room
-----------
While temporarily immune to damage, run right through.
Back Door
---------
Continue on right to get out of the Castle and into The Moat.

Keep an eye on your invincibility (Frank will be flashing black and
white until he loses the effect of the shield) as you dash left to the left end
of the Moat area. Once you get to The Forest sign, press Down to enter.

THE FOREST

Head left, and jump onto the first large tree stump you see, then onto
the branches to your left (this may take some time to get the exact landing
correct and not fall off). Continue making your way around in counterclockwise
fashion through the leaves of the tree to grab the Ladder. From where you are
at, go left one more branch, then fall down and grab a Golden Coin as you land
(01).
Continue back up and left, grabbing another Golden Coin on the way (02)
before landing on the roof of a small shed. Jump onto the shed's chimney, and go
up and right for another Golden Coin (03), then left for still another Golden
Coin (04). Hop up to the left for three more Golden Coins (07), then from your
vantage point, jump down to the left to snag three more Golden Coins (10).
Run up the hill at the end and drop down at the top to fall down a
screen.
Jims Pond
---------
Go to the left side of the screen to grab a Fish. Shoot the two
pufferfish and use the floating bubbles to exit back out.
The Forest
----------
Move right and downhill until you come to the shed you saw earlier.
Enter the door.
Front Room
----------
Go left to grab a Shield for temporary invulnerability, then go right of
the flashing Exit icon and press Up in front of the door in the background to
move to the next area.
Back Room

Move right and jump up to grab the Cannon Ball, then head back a room.

Proceed back outdoors.

Continue out right until you get back into The Moat.

Back in the hub area that is The Moat, move right past Egypt and The
Garden signs as well as past the Castle, and press Down once you get to The
Village.

Proceed right, making your way through a few enemies and hopping over a
couple of waterway gaps. Once you get to the storefront with the BUTCHER sign,
hop onto the awning via garbage can and then up the windowsills to grab the Door
Knocker.
Move west past two waterway gaps so that you come to the first of two
doors in the background. Jump up so that you land on the stairs in front of the
door in the background, then press Up to enter the house.
Hall

Climb up the stairs a little bit, but stop shy of going all the way up
the first flight to avoid a spider dropping down from above. Instead, jump from
the first set of flights to the second, then head right and up.

Go right and press Down.
Bedroom

Head left, using the bed to avoid coming in contact with a giant mouse.
Bathroom
--------
Press the Select button to load up your menu screen, go to
'Transporter', and then select the 'Pick Up' option to grab the Transporter in
this area. The Transporter is a rather useful item. After you locate it for the
first time in this area, you can Drop and Pick Up the Transporter wherever you
wish (though it must always be in a building, not outside), and if you wander
off to the end of a level, you can use the 'GO TO' option to return to where the
Transporter is. In this manner, you can shave off time and frustration from
back-tracking through areas.
However, if you quit your game and restart with a password, Franky will
be carrying the Transporter when you restart.
After, go back Right.
Bedroom

Head right and press Up to leave out into the Landing.

Go left and down the stairs, but do so slowly so you can arrest your
motion before hitting the spider down the stairs.

Move down the stairs, shooting down the Spider, then head left down the
ground floor hallway.
Dining Area

Proceed to the left end of the Dining Area, and press Down in front of
the floating Exit sign.
Kitchen
-------
Hop onto the counter to avoid the mouse, then go and retrieve the
Butchers Knife. Move back and press Up in front of the door.

Backtrack east into the Hall.

Avoid the Spider, then go to your menu, and go Transporter > Drop to
leave your Transporter inside the building. Once finished, exit outside.
The Village
-----------
Move right, whether on the ground or using the fences. Once you get to
the storefront with the BUTCHER sign, jump onto the doorway stairs and press Up
to enter.

Proceed left in the foe-less corridor.
Meat Store

Press Up in front of the nearby doorway.
Freezer
-------
Clear your way through the enemies with your pellet weapon, then use the
left pot to be able to jump up and grab a Bone. After, open your Menu and use
Transporter > Go To.

Use Transporter > Pick Up to retrieve your Transporter, then head
outside.
The Village

Head back left into The Moat area.

the hut and press Up in front of the door to enter.
Water Store

Use Transporter > Drop to leave your Transporter at the entrance, shoot
the scissors-like enemy from afar, then jump up the shelves to be able to hop
over the fork without taking any damage. Continue staying on the top shelves as
you go left.
Untidy Room
-----------
Head left and drop to the ground floor, clearing out enemies as
required, and press Up in front of the door.
Work Bench
----------
Go left and skip a screen, then continue left and press Down in front of
the door.
Tool Stores
-----------
Hop up the shelf to the left to pick up the Raft. Now use Transporter >
Go To to move back several rooms.
Water Store
-----------
Exit out to the right without picking up the Transporter.
The Garden
----------
Dash left, using a bench to get past a rogue lawnmower, eventually
making it past the grass and down the stairs to a waterway area.
Wait for a raft to come towards Franky, then hop on after you get used
to its timing - if you miss your jump, you will lose a whole life. However, as
long as you open up your Menu Screen before you hit the bottom of the abyss, you
can use Transporter > Go To to return to your transporter and not lose a life.
Go back and forth on the entire waterway a couple of times, clearing out
the enemies and getting your timing down pat, then jump to grab the Coat Hanger
floating in the air above the water.
Hop off onto the left side of the waterway, and climb up the stairs.
Avoid the bubbles being sent out and press Up in front of the door to the next
household.
Tomato Plants
-------------
Jump onto the table, and move left over the tables, setting off the pots
to drop down before you run into them. Skipping a screen, continue left while
setting more pots off and go left another screen.
Box Store
---------
Move to the left side of the screen, again while dodging more enemies,
then hop up the boxes and pots and off the top of the screen to go upstairs.
Broken Roof
-----------
Jump right over the broken gap, and then again over the bouncing hand.
Finally, hop into the air and grab the Axe. Once the item get screen clears,
open your Menu screen and use Transporter > Go To to return to Water Store.
Water Store
-----------
Go to your Menu and use Transporter > Pick Up to obtain your Transporter
before heading outside.

Backtrack east and back into the Moat area.

Pick up the Shield at the start for 20 seconds of invulnerability, then
continue dashing left downstairs.

Proceed left and jump into the air to grab the Gun Powder. After, hop
onto the nearby stairs and press Up in front of the doorframe.

Drop down and move left and press Down in front of the Exit.

Head right past the table and mouse and press Down in front of the right
door.

Move left slightly and press down again.

Immediately move right to dodge a falling flower pot, then head left,
setting off and then avoiding a few more flower pots. Grab the Aqualung at the
end of the room, then use the Transporter > Go To to return to the back of the
castle.

Move left down the stairs again, but this time, press Down in front of
the Exit.

Proceed right and jump onto the barrel, then jump again to the right to
hop clear over any bubbles. Press Down in front of the right doorway.

Shoot the frog enemy, then jump left over the well and head outside.
Courtyard

Eliminate several of the bird enemies, then walk left and grab the Saw.
Afterwards, use Transporter > Go To to return to the Back Door.

Use Transporter > Pick Up to retrieve the Transporter, then head outside
to the Moat.

Head right until you get to the 'To The Sea' sign. Pick up the nearby
Shield first, and press Down to enter that area.

THE SEA WORLD
=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Once you enter the area, press and hold A for Franky to be able to
float. Move right by holding down the Right button on the D-Pad. Once you see an
O2 tank, let go of the A button to sink down and grab it, and continue sinking
down and pressing right. You should land on an outcrop of rock. Go right a bit
further to go down some more, and head left to enter a cavern.
Use Transporter > Drop at the entrance of the cavern to leave your
transporter here (as it is considered an 'inside' area), then exit back out.
Outside, press and hold A and right to float up and get past the squids.
Stay at about the top of the deep water, where the completely dark background
intersects with the backgroudn that begins to become dotted. Once you get to a
rock that juts up to this intersection, float a little bit higher to get past
it, and stay a little bit higher above the intersection. Continuing right, you
should locate a couple of O2 tanks, followed up by a Spade.
From the Spade, drop down to the left to sink into a Ship area.
Ship
----
Head right to drop down a floor. Down below, float up and to the left to
obtain a Dungeon Key. Proceed right a room. In here, float your way over the
turtle, and go over another room. In the next section, float over the crab, then
drop down once you get past it down a room.
Ignore the O2 tank, and instead continue dropping down to the ground
floor room of the ship. Here, head left for an O2 tank, and continue left
another screen. Float over the jellyfish and normal fish and head left a room.
In here, grab a piece of the Golden Tablet, then use Transporter > Go To
to return to where your transporter is near the beginning of the Sea.
The Sea World
-------------
Inside the cavern, head left (without picking the transporter up),
floating your way around the fish. Do the same in the next room past a turtle,
and then the same in a third room with two jellyfish. Drop down in the large
chamber after that, however, and glide left and float past a submarine to grab
an O2 Tank to resupply your oxgyen. After, dip underneath the submarine to go
down still another room.
Down below, head right and past a crab. In a small, narrow corridor, do
the same to get past yet another crab. In the larger area after that, float up
and right, and go up the exit in the roof. Up a room, get around a turtle to
grab the Trumpet, then immediately use Transporter > Go To to return to the
start of the cavern.
Once you return to the Teleporter, use Transporter > Pick Up, then head
outside. Float up, then immediately move left once you get past the outcrop.
Head left from there and float up until you get to where you came in from to
return to the Moat.

Pick up the Shield to your right where you come back in, then head left

Transporter > Go To to return to the castle exit.

Dodge both the Spider and the worm as you make your way left, and go

Jump over top of the mummy and press Down in front of the Exit sign.
Annex

Eliminate the bird enemies in here if they prove to be a nuisance, and
head left and drop down to the next section.

Move in front of the door and press Up.
Antechamber

Ignore the mummy in here, and instead go right to grab a Scroll. Once
you have it, use Transporter > Go to.
Entrance
--------
Leave your Transporter where it is, and press Down at the Exit sign to
go
outside.
Egypt
-----
Take out a snake to your right, and beat up a couple more foes as you go
along, collecting a Golden Coin (01) along the way. Grab a second Golden Coin
(02) but stop shy of the sand, which will cause instant death if you try to
cross it now.
Instead, double back to just before the shop with the awning. You should
notice the towers around here all have grooves in the blocks - you can jump and
land on these grooves, as well as on the top of each tower and on small blocks
that are somewhat indistinguishable against the black-and-white (or pea green)
background. However, by jumping around and making use of the tiles, you should
be able to grab another 6 Golden Coins, including one guarded by a Mummy (08).
When you have all 8 Golden Coins, go back down and head east to where
the streetfront shop is, and there will be a carpet lying in wait. Hop onto the
carpet and it will automatically glide across the desert, bringing you to the
pyramid to the east.
Jump up the blocks of the pyramid and press Up to enter the door at the
top.
Great Gallery

Head right a screen and shoot the mummy in here. Press up to enter the
next area.

Kill the bug enemies if they get in your way, then go left and press Up
to head up the stairs.

Head left a room, then press Up at the first door you come into.

Continue left, taking out a scorpion on the way, and drop down.

Go right and grab the Hammer off of the casket before going back left
and up.

Wait to be able to take out a spider that will drop down from the

Head left and jump up the platforms and over the shaft before killing a
spider, then drop down and head left.
Dark Room
---------
Grab a fourth piece of the Golden Tablet, then return right a room.
Air Shaft

Kill the spider again before hopping up the platform. This time, drop
down the center shaft to go down a room. Head right down below and fall down
another gap to fall into the lowest section of this area.
False Tomb
----------
Eliminate a couple of monsters with your Pellet Gun as you navigate
around for a Bulb item. Once completed, use Transporter > Go To to return to the
start of Egypt.

more until you come to a mine shaft with a sign saying MINE above it. Press Up
to enter.

Head left and right though, making use of the invulnerability you should
still have.

Head up to the elevator and press Up in front of it to go down.

Run right, either avoiding, taking damage from or possibly using
invulnerability still to get past the two stretchy hands from below and the

Working Pit

Go right and grab the Fuse here, which is the only way in the game you
can recharge your health on a single life, back in the Chateau. Return left
afterwards.
Air Shaft
---------
Head left and up the elevator.
Mine Shaft
----------
Continue left into the next area.
Coal House
----------
Hop over the shovel once it starts to move right and then press Down to
go to the next area.
Dangerous Room
--------------
Continue right into the next area.
Mine Shaft
----------
Jump over the boxes to be able to bypass the animated shovels entirely,
and press Up in front of the elevator to use the lift.
Dark Room
---------
Hop left over the gaps, timing to avoid damage by the bubbles, and move
into the next room.
Gold Mine
---------
Continue left to grab the fifth and penultimate piece of the Golden
Tablet. Afterwards, use Transporter > Go To to return to near the start of the
Forest.
Front Room
----------
Leave the Transporter here, and grab a Shield from the left side of the
room. Quickly exit out.
The Forest
----------
Move east and back into The Moat area.

Run all the way right until you hit the To the Sea sign. Stay to the
left of the jumping hand, and wait until your Shield runs out. Grab a new
Shield, then run left slightly and enter The Village.

THE VILLAGE

Immediately start running right on entering, hopping over the gaps as
they come, past both the Butcher and Cafe signs, and then running uphill. You
should just barely be able to get to the top of the hill by the time the Shield
runs out. Jump up onto the doorstep, then press Up to enter.
Haunted Hall

Press Up where you start to go up another room.
Death Room
----------
Go right a room.
Haunted Hall
------------
Press Down at the Exit sign.
Cold Room
---------
Shoot a bird at the start, then go right and fall down the gap to the
room below.
Haunted Cellar
--------------
Drop down, eliminating a bird as you move right and press Up at the door
to continue to the next area. Inside, head right away from the bouncing eyeball,
and shoot the two Will-o-Wisps in here to obtain the Front Door Key.
Return left and press Down, then reshoot the bird and jump back up the
shaft.
Cold Room
---------
Proceed left and press Up at the door.
Haunted Hall
------------
Dash right to the next area.
Haunted Stairs
--------------
Press Up to go up the door at the start.
Attic
-----
Shoot the bird and the ghost before crossing left and skipping a screen.
Take out the ground-crawling spider, and continue left another screen. Press
Down to go to another section of the attic, then head right two more areas to
find the sixth and final piece of the Golden Tablet.
Afterwards, use Transporter > Go To to return to the Forest.
Front Room
----------
Proceed left and grab a Shield power-up, then exit via the Exit sign (it
really does not matter that you grab the Transporter now).
The Forest
----------
Go right and head back into the Moat.
