|_____________________________________________________________________________|
It's the Wizard of Oz, so you know exactly what to expect in terms of
characters in the game. Dorothy, of course, the Scarecrow (called the Strawman
for some unknown reason), the Lion and the Tin Man are the four leads, and Toto
is your constant companion. Dorothy leads the team as you roll and rock along
through many beautiful locations representing the four seasons: Spring, Summer,
Autumn and Winter, fighting a range of enemies in turn-based battles.
Don't expect this to be like the film (there are no Munchkins, for example),
but the game is addictive and lots of fun to play. And the developers, Media
Vision, made all the Wild Arms games so you're in safe hands!
Beyond the Yellow Brick Road is really pretty straightforward, since you
progress through the various stages much like a platform game, and can return
to them all to find a few new areas. But the bosses are tough, and there are
some awkward twists and turns that you can easily miss. (For example, I beat
the game with only three skills per character, having missed finding one set
completely!) However, I enjoyed playing so much I decided to play it again, and
put together this FAQ.

-----------
i. Controls
-----------
If you don't like using the stylus....don't play this game! Well, actually, you
might discover what fun it is to use when the controls are designed with this
kind of elegance. The lower screen has a large green trackball and you move
Dorothy by pushing the ball lightly with the stylus. It's very easy to do, and
the great thing about it is that she can run, and fast! You can scoot past
enemies so quickly that, even though they chase after you, they can't catch up.
Tap the stylus on the trackball once and Dorothy will pull up to a quick halt.
To view the area to the left or right, tap the arrow buttons at the bottom of
the screen. The only slightly awkward thing is that if you move too quickly to
the left or right you'll end up at the menu screen and have to tap the "back"
command to return to the trackball.
The DS buttons are not used at all, not even the start and select button, and
all actions and selections from the menu, including choices of attacks, are
made with the stylus.
The action takes place on the top screen where you'll see the name of the
current location and your current amount of gold coins. The bottom screen shows
the large central trackball, two arrows to look right or left, one button to
tap for the menu, and one showing an icon of a dog, which you can tap to pet
Toto. Pet him a few times and he will learn tricks, although he only shows
these if you stand still for long enough.
When standing close to a signpost, switch, or someone who you can talk to, the
dog icon will change to an exclamation mark [!]. Tap this to access a new menu.
If it's a signpost, then you can choose to mark it.
---------
ii. Menu
---------
Tap the "Menu" to see a new screen with a nice summary of information. Your
party is shown on the top screen with their current level, HP and MP, the time
you've spent playing the game, the eggs you've found and your gold.
The lower screen displays these options, and you must tap the icon to select
one.
- Use Item : shows a list of all consumable items you have found.
- Change Equipment: shows your characters and their current equipment. Tap
the weapon or armour to see alternatives and change it.
- Switch : change the order of characters for battle.
- Status : shows the status screen for each character. Tap the name to
view their screen and the arrows to see the next page.
- Quit Game : make a quick save and turn off the DS. When you reload the
game, select "Continue" to carry on from this save.

MP - maximum and current MP ACR - accuracy

WPN - equipped weapon AGL - agility
ARM - equipped armour SPD - speed
Page 2
Shows current skills and spells. A blue icon means that the skill is used
against one or more enemies, and a green icon means that it is used for allies.
If a skill says it is for "some" allies that means for the active party, and
"some" enemies means that it will target a group of the same monsters. Skills
can only be learned by finding and defeating a Dragon Master and there are 8
skills for each party memeber.
--------------------------------
iii. Saving and Loading the Game
--------------------------------
When the game starts you won't find an option to save for quite some time,
which can be a little disconcerting. However, you can make a quick save at any
time, and that is accessed from the Menu by selecting "Quit Game". Save here,
and you'll be prompted to turn off the DS. When you turn it back on select
"Continue" from the start screen, and you'll be back where you left the game.
This save remains until you make another quick save which writes over it.
When you reach Oz's Castle you can make a normal save from the main screen, and
you can have three separate save files. However, you cannot load a different
save from here and this is the ONLY place where you can save. (At least, for
most of the game.)
-----------------
iv. Battle System
-----------------
All enemies are visible and you can see exactly what kind of enemy you will be
fighting. If you touch them, or they catch you, then it's battle start! Most
are aggressive and will run at you to attack, and even chase after you if you
attempt to run past them, although some will appear to be asleep and you can
easily slip past them.
They are spaced out along the route (the single "road" that you follow through
the various locations) and some shorter roads won't have any enemies at all.
Enemies re-spawn fairly quickly after being killed, but you can avoid battles
by running fast past them, or choosing to escape.
When a battle starts you will see all enemies on the top screen and each one
displays its name and an icon to indicate its weakness. The idea is to use the
appropriate character to attack that type of enemy, and everyone stands still
(in that time-honoured RPG fashion) and takes it in turns to hit and be hit!
Except that you don't get to see your team at all during a battle, just the
enemies. The speed stat of a character or enemy determines who goes first.
In fact the game will automatically select the target for each character
according to their affinity, at least, if enemies of that type are present.
Enemies with no icon will be the target for anyone that doesn't have any
special enemy to attack. You can select the target manually if you wish.
Ghost type enemies (white icon) are weak to Dorothy.
Water type enemies (blue icon) are weak to Strawman.
Shell type enemies (yellow icon) are weak to Lion.
Plant type enemies (green icon) are weak to Tin Man.
There are three options on the lower screen at the start of each battle:
----------------------------
-- Input Battle Commands --
---------------------------
Tap the battle commands option to see your current fighters and the enemy they
will automatically target (chosen by the game). Tap the sword icon by their
names for alternative attack options if you need them:
- Attack with weapon
- Use special skill
- Defend
- Use item
Select one of these and you will be shown the relevant screen to allow you to
choose an item, choose a special attack and select the target of the attack,
item or skill. Be aware that the game's AI will automatically select healing
items if someone is suffering from a bad status effect, or has low HP, and you
might not want to do this.
----------------------
-- Switch Fighters --
----------------------
Tap this option and you'll see a screen with all four party members and four
slots for the battle.
Dorothy and Strawman use one slot each, Lion uses 2 and Tin Man uses 3. Choose
your combination of characters and then continue to make battle command
selections. You can alter the team at the start of every round.
Useful combinations are : Dorothy + Tin Man
Strawman + Tin Man
Dorothy + Strawman + Lion
----------
-- Flee --
----------
Simply select this option and there is a good chance that you can escape from
the battle. It won't always work (although Lion's first skill guarantees escape
if you are really desperate!) but the enemy will have disappeared for a while.
BACK OPTION
You can always tap the Back button to return to the previous menu screen, as
many times as you like, until you're satisfied with your selections. When you
choose OK from the battle screen, the battle will begin, and there's no going
back!
TURN SPEED!
You cannot choose the turn order of attack and the fastest character, Strawman,
will take the first strike, followed by Dorothy, then Lion, and the slowest to
act is the Tin Man. If you've increased speed (using a skill) then the speeded
up characters will take pole position. If Dorothy (for example) has a higher
level, that gives her a higher Speed than the Strawman, then she will be placed
first. All actions take place in turns and at the end of the round you can make
new selections for your attacks and change your active party, if you choose.
SPEED IS NOT EFFECTED BY EQUIPMENT! It is the character's natural ability and
will increase as levels increase. Other than that it can only be increased (or
decreased) by spells.
------------------------
v. Equipment and Weapons
------------------------
Everyone can equip one piece of defensive armour and one weapon, and you cannot
change equipment during a battle. Collect coins to buy equipment from the one
shop at the castle. The inventory upgrades at the end of each season, after you
have defeated the boss. You can also find some weapons and equipment in
treasure chests, often in areas that are not accessible on your first visit.
--------------------
vi. Magic and Skills
--------------------
Everyone learns 8 skills (or spells) that are unique to them, but you won't
have any at first. The only way to gain these additional spells is to fight and
defeat 3 different skill masters, called Father Dragon (F.Dragon). The first
set of skills is very useful and it's a good idea to try and get the first of
these (Dorothy's Healing Hand) as soon as you can.

vii. Recovery Items
-------------------
Until Dorothy gets her Healing Hand skill you will need to use items to heal
the party from damage These are found in some treasure chests, dropped (very
rarely) from monsters, and can be purchased at the shop in Oz's Castle. Only
Miracle Dust is never for sale, but the more powerful items won't be added to
the shop's inventory until later stages of the game. Some items are also
received as a reward when you complete a stage.
When Strawman gets his second skill, Plunder, you can steal many of these items
from enemies, and this is the best way to gain additional stuff. All bad status
effects are removed at the end of a battle, so there is usually no need to
bother healing those, except during boss fights. Anyone that is downed in
battle will be back on their feet again with 1 HP, however, they won't receive
any experience if they are knocked out!

---------------------------------------
viii. Navigation, Signposts and Spirits
---------------------------------------
As you can see from the Table of Contents, the game is divided into the four
seasons, and when you complete one season, the next one opens up. Each season
has 3 separate locations or stages (apart from Winter) and each stage has
sections called A, B, C, D. The idea is to find a blue crystal that will warp
you to the next section, and you often have to open various locked gates using
switches.
ELEMENTAL SPIRITS
Some of these switches require you to use an elemental spirit in order to
trigger them, and you'll find the spirits hidden away in various locations.
Once you have them, they stay with you and can be used over and over again:
- FIRE SPIRIT is found in Cherry Blossom Way A.
- EARTH SPIRIT is in Boom Boom Forest A.
- WIND SPIRIT is found in Forever Summer Villa A
- WATER SPIRIT is found in Water Rapids A
"SWITCHES"
The "switches" will change something when activated: usually unlocking a gate.
They appear in various forms:
- Torches that might have to be lit (with the Fire Spirit) or put out (with the
Water Spirit).
- Balances that have to be altered with an Earth Spirit or Wind Spirit.
- Wind Vanes that are blown into a different position by the Wind Spirit.
- Walls that must be broken down using the Earth Spirit.
- Fountains that can be made to flow with the Water Spirit, or stopped flowing
with the Fire Spirit.
SIGNPOSTS
The other major feature of the game is signposts! All major junctions have one,
and you can mark the signpost to help you know which path is a dead end, or has
a switch, or is the correct route to take.
The options are pre-set and you can choose from:
[!] Exclamation mark
[?] Question mark
[<3] Heart
[X] Large X
[ ] Nothing
[o] Circle
It's up to you if you want to use these markers, and what you want them to
indicate. I used [X] to mark a path where I'd opened a treasure chest and there
was nothing else to find or do, [o] to mark a switch, [!] to mark the location
of the Father Dragon, and [?] if I couldn't progress through that path just
yet. [Heart] I reserved for the correct route, once I'd found it.
MAPS!
The game does not show you any maps for the various areas, even after you've
explored everywhere, and that's why it's important to mark the signposts to
help you know which areas you've already explored, and which is right way to go
to the next warp point. However, I've included some rough sketch maps to show
the paths. These maps are NOT to scale, and I haven't included every twist or
turn of the paths, so they are not scaled drawings. I hope they help you
navigate more easily.

| III. H I N T S A N D T I P S ................ *TIPS |
|_____________________________________________________________________________|
|_____________________________________________________________________________|
1. Use the Witch Gate to escape from a stage if you are running low on health
and healing items. You can heal, save and return again. However, even if
your party is knocked out, there is no penalty for getting a Game Over, and
you will all be back at Oz's Castle, and can carry on.
2. Obtain the first set of skills from the Father Dragon in Budding Highlands
as soon as you can. At level 8 your party will be strong enough to defeat
him with ease.
3. Use Strawman's Plunder skill frequently so you never have to buy recovery
items, and you will need lots of revive and healing items for the boss
battles.
4. Skills and spells can only be used during a battle, so make sure to heal up
when you fight!
5. Return to previously cleared areas after getting new elemental spirits to
open previously locked gates. (That includes breaking down walls using the
Earth spirit.)
6. Quit the game and make a quick save before fighting a boss or Father Dragon,
and, if you lose, you won't lose the items you used. Just try again from
that save: select "Continue".
7. Avoid black ghosts! These appear randomly in various locations and won't
attack you, so it's easy enough to walk past them. They are VERY POWERFUL
and can destroy your team in one or two rounds, even if you are at high
enough levels to beat the game.
8. Remember that you can choose who you want to use for each round of a battle,
and which enemy (or group) you want to target. You don't have to follow the
automatic selection of targets or the items or spells the game selects. be
creative!
9. If you want to get more coins early on in the game try fighting lots of the
Hungry Wolf enemy (in Budding Highlands) and Big Boar in Cherry Blossom Way.

Enemies in the game have icons next to their names to show who has an affinity
with them (that is, can kill them more easily). In this FAQ they are listed
with the name of the character.
Enemies with a [D] should be attacked with Dorothy, [S] with Strawman, [L]
with Lion and [T] with Tin Man. Enemies with a [-] against their name have no
special affinity.

Select "New Game" and the story begins... You can name Dorothy if you wish but
that would be an insult to the original story and I'll stick to Dorothy. You
can also choose a name for Toto, Dorothy's pet dog. After that keep tapping the
book icon at the bottom of the screen to progress through the story pages.
You can tap "Back" if you want to read the story again, as this command takes
you back to the start of the text. Just tap "Exit" to continue.
Now, you'll be introduced to that trackball, and get a tutorial on how to move
it. Simply move the stylus on the trackball to cause it to spin and you'll move
in the direction that the ball is turning. Don't press hard, just touch it
lightly, and use one swipe rather than short taps.
Test it out on the yellow brick road by moving forwards and around the first
bend, and you'll see some coins. Pick up the first one by simply moving over
it. After a short explanation showing how to tap the arrows to see left and
right, you can return to the road and move forwards again to pick up another
three coins.
Run along the road and you'll reach a wall. You cannot pass through this until
very much later in the game, so turn left and you'll run into a green ghost.
The battle system is introduced, and you'll see how the game picks the best
actions (at least best for now) for you. Tap Input Battle Commands, and then OK
on the next screen, and Dorothy will unleash four attacks on the ghost. At
least, she would if it had much HP, but in fact one strike will defeat it.
Touch the screen at the end of the battle and you'll see that you get an
impressive 1 experience point from the ghost!
You'll also be reminded to heal yourself using Potions from the Menu if needed:
you start the game with 5 of them, and you might get more dropped from the
Gummy Ghost. And now, you're on your own! Time to march on in search of...well,

It all depends on which enemies you have to fight, and the Strawman is strong
against water type enemies. He joins you at level 2, with the Hitch Spear and
Farmer Clothes equipped.
Continue along the road until you reach the next warp crystal, and let the
Strawman do all the fighting if you encounter 4 Jelly Fighters, which was my
very next battle! If there are ghost enemies then bring in Dorothy, and if it's
a mixture, or enemies without any class, then use both of them. There's another
wall here that you cannot get past, but just ignore that and take the warp to

At the next circular area there's another treasure chest containing a [POTION],

Five hits (with both at level 3) and this fight is over nearly before you have
time to take a breath, even if he defends. You can name him if you like, but
I'll just call him LION. There's another tutorial on the Lion's attack ratio:
he takes up 2 turns to make one attack, so if you only use him you'd only have
2 turns no matter how many enemies there might be. He's best used in a team
with Dorothy and Strawman as your default line-up, and then you can switch
characters in and out if you need to.
He joins you at level 3 and is equipped with a Cat Paw and Curly Fur. Sweet!
Add him to the active party and he will target those Crabby Crabs for you.
Don't forget to change the line-up again if you are faced with all Jelly
Fighters, or all Ghosts, though you will probably find that the team of the
three can deal with most monsters easily enough.
Continue along the road until you come to a another wall that blocks the route,
although there is a treasure chest in front of it with a [MOONFLY POWDER]. This
handy item revives someone who has been downed in battle, though you only need
to use it when fighting a boss when you need everyone to be on their feet at
all times! Follow the only road until you reach the blue crystal warp point to

HP : 85 (estimate)
Experience: 60
Location : Yellow Brick Road D
This guy might be strong but he's slow and his attacks might miss altogether,
and since he only gets one per round, he's not going to pose much of a threat.
If he manages to hit Strawman he could do around 16 points of damage, but even
two hits of that strength won't kill anyone, and with all three team mates
fighting, this battle will be over after 6 or 7 hits.
The Tin Man's ratio is 3 so he only gets one turn per round and takes up three
slots. He's most useful in boss fights, and when he gets a few skills. You'll
also get a tutorial on affinities, and how each party member has an affinity to
particular types of monsters, which you already know. Dorothy and Strawman will
be at level 5 by now and Tin Man joins you at level 5, with a Tin Axe and Tin
Armour.
Walk on until you reach another wall blocking the way ahead, so turn to the
left, and you'll soon reach the open MARS GATE. Go through and you'll find the
new plant type enemy, the Chestnutty, that gives better experience and is
susceptible to the Tin Man strength. The next warp crystal is at the end of

Obviously you will return here later, and can't do anything else for now. Go
through the open gate, fight a few more enemies, the usual Jelly Fighters,
Ghosts and Chestnutty, and you will soon arrive at Oz's Castle.
After some explaining from the Wizard of Oz, you are free to heal, shop and
save your game. You task now, is to find 10 eggs in various lands and bring
them back to Oz. When you're ready to depart, tap the exit button to return to
the world map where your adventure, to defeat the Spring Witch, will begin!
You cannot access the Yellow Brick again so forget about that for now.
SHOPPING!
There's a limited amount of things on sale, but it's doubtful that you can
afford very much besides some better armour. I tended to prioritise this for
Dorothy and Strawman since I used them the most, and they have less HP and
lower defence than the other two. Also, you will soon find a better weapon for
Dorothy, and armour for the Lion. (If you really want to save your coins, then
you will also find armour for the Strawman, but not until you reach the area
after Budding Highlands.)
I never bought items, preferring to save my gold for equipment, and you will
find just about enough items, especially once you can steal stuff as well!
However, you might want to purchase a Witch Gate so you can always return to
the world map and get back to the castle to save and heal if necessary. Later
on you'll have plenty of these, but at this stage of the game you don't.

Head straight along the path to the first signpost, and there will be a
tutorial on how to mark the signs so you don't get lost. The suggestion is that
you mark a direction with a [?] first, and then, if that road leads nowhere,
come back and change the mark to a [X]. Which makes sense.
There's also a red Cat Hood standing around the area and you can talk to
him/her. You'll find quite a number of these creature scattered around in set
locations (they never more) and sometimes they will give you helpful hints.
Most often it's just some catty or confused comment.
Follow the upper arrow to the right to find a treasure chest with a [WITCH

this route is a dead end.] Continue on to the second signpost and here you'll
meet a pretty pink witch called Flora. After she's gone, follow the lower arrow
left a short way, to find a treasure chest with a [POTION]. Return to the
signpost, mark that left arrow with an [X], and carry on to the right.
You'll find that you meet the Hungry Wolf enemy around here, and you might also
notice that some enemy groups leave behind a gold coin. You will only ever get
one after a battle, and it doesn't happen every time, but they slowly add up!
There's a treasure chest behind the Cat Hood where the path turns to the left,
containing a [POTION]. Keep going and you'll pick up 2 COINS, and reach another
signpost. The bottom right arrow lead you to 2 more COINS, a FIRE SWITCH and a
locked BREEZE GATE. Mark the signpost with a [?] or some other choice, to
remind you to check this out later! You need to have found the Fire Spirit to
activate this switch.

IMPORTANT LOCATION! - FATHER DRAGON
If you turn LEFT at the first signpost this take you past a Cat Hood who will
mention that an old man will train anyone who passes by. Follow the road as it
makes a sharp turn to the left and after encountering one monster you'll reach
a blue crystal warp to A. Yes, you read that right, back to A, but a different
part of A.
Arrive at A and head past one monster on the path and you'll find an open
wooden jetty with a strange small man complete with a long red tail. This is
Father Dragon Io. He will ask for a sparring match, and you should be able to
beat him on this first visit, if you've found the Queasy Cane for Dorothy and
are at level 8. See the separate section (Budding Highlands Father Dragon 1,
for full details about these battles.)
--------------
At the next signpost go straight on until the path opens up a little, and
there's a Cat Hood that will warn you about Black Ghosts. Touch the switch to
turn it on and this opens the SPROUT GATE. Continue along the path to reach a
treasure chest that contains a [QUEASY CANE], a weapon for Dorothy! Equip this
immediately as will raise her stats considerably.
Return to the signpost, after having turned on the switch, and turn to follow
the lower arrow through the SPROUT GATE. Keep going for a while until you reach
a treasure chest with a [WITCH HERB] and another Cat Hood who has some friendly

(If you're running low on items and health, then it's a good idea to return to

increases his attack power by 10! Not bad for something free.
Return to the signpost and go left. You'll find a helpful Cat Hood who'll
remind you that status effects such as poison will disappear after a battle.
You really only need to heal them during a long drawn out boss battle. You'll
also find another signpost close to a wall and a Cat Hood.
Take the right fork (upper arrow) first to find 2 COINS along the road and a
switch at the far end. Turn this on, and the STREAM GATE opens. Return to the
signpost, and this time take the other route between two high rock walls,
following the lower arrow.
You'll quickly arrive at another signpost, and another Cat Hood who will
mention Father Dragon's training just in case you haven't found him yet, or
have forgotten to get that first skill!
If you follow the bottom arrow that points left, you'll find a bowl type
structure with a flame burning. You might remember having seen one of these
before, except without a flame, and this is FIRE SWITCH, but this fire needs
dousing with water. There's a locked gate next to this switch, called the
BUTTERCUP GATE. You can't do anything more here, so there's no need investigate
just yet.
Instead, just follow the direction of the upper arrow, and eventually you'll
reach a treasure chest containing a [WITCH GATE], and an open STREAM GATE to
the left of the chest. Go through here and you'll find a flying EGG, and when
you touch it and agree to clear the stage, this completes the Budding
Highlands. When you clear a stage you will get a reward of experience points,
various potions and coins.
My team were all at level 10 after clearing the stage.

OZ'S CASTLE

You'll be back at Oz's Castle and hand over the egg to OZ, and he also tells
you about Father Dragon and that you really should learn some skills from him.
Heal up and save your game and check out the shop since you will have some more
gold coins to spend now. When you exit to the world map you'll find a new
location: Cherry Blossom Way.
LOCATION: Budding Highlands A.
Make your way through Budding Highlands A taking the warp to B following the
main route. (It helps if you've marked the signposts!) Walk to the first
signpost on B and turn left to find a warp crystal back to another part of A.
Walk down the short path to find him waiting for you. Fight him now for the
first skill, but don't be tempted to try the second fight while your levels are
under 10, however, at level 12 it's pretty easy.

1. BATTLE ONE
-------------
HP 200 (estimate)
Rewards: 80 experience
1 Witch Gate
You can manage to win this battle at level 8, which you are likely to be by the
time you reach this area. Io will do two nasty things: Guard Down which
decreases resistance on the active party, and Flame Breath which attacks one
for up to 40 HP damage (especially if it's Strawman and his resistance has been
lowered).
He will get in two attacks for each round, so heal up and switch allies around
if necessary. Use Dorothy and the Tin Man or Lion ,since she should have the
Queasy Cane weapon which will inflict good damage on Io, and those two can do
more damage than the Strawman, and are not so weak to fire.
The team will learn:

| TINMAN | Full Swing | Attacks multiple enemies | Some enems | 04 |
|__________|_______________|________________________________|____________|____|

2. BATTLE TWO
-------------
HP 400 (estimate)
Rewards: 120 experience
1 Witch Gate
He's still using Flame Breath on one, and his ordinary attack, together with
Hard Hit. He might use Guard Down on everyone, which decreases resistance, and
that means that his spell can do more damage, so take out Strawman, if you've
got him in the line-up, as he is weak to fire. He also uses a Hard Hit physical
attack but even if he does this twice on one ally you should be able to survive
it. (You probably won't survive two Flame Breaths on Strawman though!)
I tried out this fight again at level 10 with no knockouts, using Dorothy to
heal when needed, and switching allies in and out, but if you're not confident
of winning, then wait until you're at level 12 and then this fight is easy.
Dorothy managed to evade his physical attack, and I just used her and the Tin
Man (whose attacks didn't miss once!) and everyone had the best equipment
available in the "Spring" chapter.
The team will learn:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
| Ally | Skill/Spell | Effect | Target | MP |
|----------+---------------+--------------------------------+------------+----|
| DOROTHY | Dreamland | Causes sleep | Some ens. | 04 |
| STRAWMAN | Plunder | Steals an item | Single En | 02 |

| TINMAN | Marksman | An attack with 100% hit rate | Single En | 02 |
|__________|_______________|________________________________|____________|____|

3. BATTLE THREE
---------------
500 HP (estimate)
Rewards: 200 experience
1 Witch Gate
I had left this until for too late in the game, and my team were already level
30 before tacking this fight. At this level Io's hard hit only did 4 damage to
Dorothy making it all too easy. With just a couple of Marksman hits from the
Tin Man and Dorothy's attack with the best third level shop weapons, this fight
was over before Io could do as much as swing his tail. (I'll see how low a
level I can manage to beat him this time around!)
Well, it's possible at level 14 with the best Spring equipment for everyone.
Lion can do around 100 HP damage to Io if you charge him up on his first turn,
which is slightly better than he can manage with two ordinary attacks. Io will
use Guard Down, decreasing resistance to his magic, and at his higher level
Flame Breath can do 50 HP or so damage, even to Lion. His Hard Hit is also more
powerful and Strawman and Dorothy might have trouble surviving two of these
attacks. Use Tin Man's Marksman ability and Lion to inflict the most damage.
Keep everyone healed using Dorothy's Healing Hand or potions.
The team will learn:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
| Ally | Skill/Spell | Effect | Target | MP |
|----------+---------------+--------------------------------+------------+----|
| DOROTHY | Overclock | Raises speed | Some allies| 06 |
| STRAWMAN | Gnaw | Decreases defence | Some enems | 06 |
| LION | Alert | Raises magic evade rate | Some allies| 04 |
| TINMAN |Lone Brush Fire| Causes burns on anyone nearby | Self only | 09 |

If you've defeated Father Dragon for the second time you will have no trouble

a bit disappointing to find that most of the enemies are exactly as the same as
before, with only the Big Boar as something new, but he is a powerful foe, and
you'll soon run into more challenging enemies in the second area.
There's a Cat Hood near the start but he/she doesn't have much of interest to

The upper arrow points right, and this takes to a bridge with 2 COINS, a Cat

The path turns to the right after you've picked up the Fire Spirit, and there's

Strawman. Walk back to the open area where you found the Fire Spirit and carry
straight on down a shorter path to find another treasure chest with a [POTION].
Finally, make your way back to the signpost: you can spot the correct route

Once you're back at the signpost, follow the bottom arrow left, and you'll soon
spot the second signpost. Take a left, following the bottom arrow and you'll
find a treasure chest with a [WITCH HERB]. Return to the signpost and take the
other route over a bridge to an open area with two fire switches: one torch is

follow the bottom arrow.
Keep going until you reach a bridge with 4 COINS, and then a signpost. The

The blue crystal warp is to your left, if you want to return to the Castle

trying to find your way amongst the flower beds, fountains and trellises.
You'll find Cat Hoods here and they aren't the friendly kind, but you can

out for the Lil Red Hoods who will steal items from you and run off with them.
If you kill them quickly enough you'll get the stolen item back.
Walk along the brick path until you reach the first signpost and turn right,

You're now inside a gorgeous palace in a large room with the blue crystal

a lot of HP compared to other enemies. Steal Moonfly Powders from it.
You'll reach a second large room with a large pot of flowers in the centre, and
two signposts. The correct route is right, but there is one useful item to find
if you go left. The path takes you past a locked LILY GATE, to an area with 2
Fire Switches, and two more locked gates. One fire switch needs to be lit.
Light the flame, and the ROSE GATE will open. Go through, and follow the red
carpet until you reach a round room with an ordinary switch. Turn it on and
this opens the LILY GATE. You cannot access the IRIS GATE until later in the
game as you need to put out the flame using the Water Spirit. (See the Spring

this leads to a dead end and a single treasure chest with a [POTION]. Carry on
along the main hallway until you reach a signpost. Turn right, following the
upper arrow, and around a right-angled corner to find a treasure chest with a
[MOONFLY POWDER].
The left, lower arrow, takes you to a blue warp crystal and thence to C. If
you're running low on MP and HP there is a healing fountain in the next area,
but you might want to leave despite that.
I decided to return to Oz's Castle before tackling the next area. There's still
a fair way to go, so I'd advise being cautious, and buying the better armour
and weapons for everyone now you have more coins. This is also the point at
which you can defeat Io (Father Dragon) for the third skill, which you will
need for the boss fight at the end of this area.

Walk straight ahead along a hallway until you reach a round room with the first
of four locked gates, and two signposts.
Go left and you can pick up 2 COINS from the hallway, and will soon reach
another signpost. The upper arrow takes you right, and you will notice an
unmarked right turning. This is IMPORTANT, because there is a healing fountain
inside the round room at the end of the passage. (You'll also find a friendly
Cat Hood who tells you that's what it is!) Once you've found somewhere to heal
up you can take your time, fight lots of enemies, level up a bit if you think
you need to.
Continue along the hall and you'll end up in a large room with a Fire Switch
that opens PLUM GATE 4. The treasure chest contains one [POTION]. The lower
left arrow takes you around a sharp turn to a room with a Fire Switch and a
treasure chest containing a [HI-POTION]. Light the switch with the Fire Spirit
and this opens PLUM GATE 2.
Return to the four gates area and follow the arrow to the right until you reach
a signpost. The upper arrow takes you to the right and you'll find a fire
switch that opens PLUM GATE 1. Finally, take the other route leading left, and
you'll run past a blocked wall to your left. You can't do anything with this
now and can return later on. Carry on and pick up 2 COINS, and enter the large
room with another Fire Switch. Use the Fire Spirit to light the torch and open
the third PLUM GATE.
Make your way back to the gated area, and walk up through all four open gates.
(You might want to go left and make use of the healing fountain again before
going any further.) There are no more enemies, and you'll find the blue crystal
at the end of a long hallway. This takes you directly into the boss room,
although you still have time to make a quick save if you want, and check your
health and equipment. Everyone is likely to be at level 15 if you just made
your way here directly without too much wandering around.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PALACE OF FLOWERS D
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Walk forwards and introduce yourself to Flora, who did invite you here after
all. But she won't offer you tea and scones or a guided tour of her gardens,
and you're facing your first real test.
o-------------------------o
| B O S S : FLORA |
o-------------------------o
| HP: 800 (estimate) |
| Experience : 428 |
| Rewards: 1 Miracle Dust |
o-------------------------o
She doesn't have an affinity with anyone so it doesn't matter which of the
team you use, but think carefully about which skills you need. This is why you
gained those three skills from the Father Dragon and now is the time to put
them to the test! Use Strawman's Gnaw to decrease her defence, Dorothy's
Overclock to increase everyone's speed, the Lion's Alert to protect against
magic, and Tin Man's Marksman to ensure powerful damage on her. Dorothy can
heal anyone and you have the back-up of Hi-Potions and that Life Tree Ash I
hope you saved for this battle! Revive anyone who dies using a Moonfly Powder,
or a Moonfly Wing if their MP is low and this will heal all HP and MP.
She starts the battle accompanied by two Lil Red Hoods, so target those first.
Her Floral Wind spell will do around 40 HP damage to one, at this level, but if
she charges up her magic using Magic Focus, then it will do double that and is
very dangerous. She might use Magic Focus as her final turn, and if so, make
sure to switch to two fully healed characters for the next round to minimise
the potential damage. (I held Tin Man in reserve at first, and brought him in
at this point.) Spring Storm targets everyone for around 20-30 HP damage, but
with Magic Focus that's going to be doubled too.
Flora gets 2 turns for each round, and she also has a defensive skill of Body
Build which increases her physical defence. If she casts that, step in with
Strawman and use Gnaw to lower her defence again. By the way, if someone dies,
and you've set a Hi-Potion or Healing Hand spell to be used on them, it won't
be wasted and will be used on someone else.
After you defeat her, there will be a short scene and then you can step
forwards to claim the flying EGG and end this stage. After that, you'll be
transported directly back to Oz's Castle.
Back at the Castle, Oz will update you on the Egg collection, 3 down, 7 to go,
and the shop will increase its stock. If you've noticed that someone isn't
doing so well, either for defence or attack, then treat them to something new,
but you are unlikely to have enough coins to buy much. However, you can sell
the Gold Cluster item for 20 Gold and sell off lower grade weapons and armour
to raise more cash. You can also do a bit of backtracking to find new things
once you get the Earth Spirit, and this can save you some Gold.
Heal up and save your game, and then, exit to the world map where you'll see a
new arrow at the bottom right corner of the screen. Tap this, and you'll be at
the SUMMER location and Boom Boom Forest is now ready for you to explore!

1.6. SPRING BACKTRACKING! .............................................. *W16
==============================================================================
After obtaining each spirit you can return to previously explored locations and
access new areas. You will find some good items and equipment, although the
equipment cannot be sold for more than 1 Gold, so it's not a way to make extra
cash! However, it might save you from buying some stuff if you're trying to
save your gold.
If you do this, make sure to have sufficient Witch Gates to take you back out
of the location. Even if you make it all the way through to the boss area
again, there isn't a blue crystal warp point back to the world map, so you'll
either have to die, or walk all the way back to the start. *Sigh*.
---------------------
FIRE SPIRIT LOCATIONS
--------------------
You will find KALMA, the Fire Spirit, in Cherry Blossom Way A.
1. BUDDING HIGHLANDS A
From the start, go straight on through the first signpost and turn right, at
the second. Follow the path and go right at the next signpost. Light the Fire
Switch to open the BREEZE GATE and follow the path to the end where you'll find
two treasure chests with a weapon for Tin man, the [SMALL AXE], and a
[HI-POTION].
----------------------
EARTH SPIRIT LOCATIONS
----------------------
You will find AVANI, the Earth Spirit, in Boom Boom Forest A.
1. CHERRY BLOSSOM WAY C
Make your way to C and up to the first signpost. Turn right and follow the path
a long way until you reach the edge of the forest and find the earth switch.
Use the Earth Spirit to turn it off and this opens the BLOOM GATE. Return to
the main path and keep taking the left fork at the next three signposts until
you reach the open Bloom Gate.
Go through the gate and take the warp to B (yes, it goes back to another area
of B). The path is short and leads over a bridge to two treasure chests with
[BARREL ARMOR] for Tin Man, and one [MAGIC DROPLET]. You might find a Black
Ghost here too.
2. PALACE OF FLOWERS C
Make your way to C and turn right at the 4 Gates area and then left at the next
signpost. You'll see the wall at the left of this hallway. Use the Earth Spirit
on it and it will disappear, and you will find a large room with a treasure
chest containing a [SENTRY DRESS] for Dorothy, and probably a Black Ghost!
Don't touch it and it will leave you alone.
----------------------
WATER SPIRIT LOCATIONS
----------------------
You will find the Water Spirit, Varun, in Autumn Rapids A.
1. BUDDING HIGHLANDS C
From the start of C, walk up to the first signpost and take a left. Keep going
past the next signpost until you reach the third one and again, go left. You'll
find a Fire Switch that is ON, and you need the Water Spirit to douse the flame
and open the BUTTERCUP GATE. Keep going a fair distance until you reach the end
of the path and find a treasure chest containing a [FAIRY BELT], armour for
Strawman.
2. PALACE OF FLOWERS B
Make your way to B, walk up to the first signposts and turn left. Keep going
until you reach the area with two gates and two Fire Switches. Use the Water
Spirit on the left one and this opens the Iris Gate. Follow the hallway to the
end and open a treasure chest, to obtain one [EXCITE CANE], a weapon for
Dorothy.

| S U M M E R .........................*W20 |
|_____________________________________________________________________________|
There's another friendly Cat Hood at the start, only this time it's Blue! Chat
to him/her to get some information about selling the Gold Cluster. The path is
almost hidden but it's just to the right of the Cat Hood. Be careful when
fighting the Gorillauncher if he charges up, as he can hit one ally for around
100 HP damage with his next strike!
Walk along the slightly concealed path for quite a distance until you reach a
signpost. There's a locked WAVE GATE ahead of you and the lower arrow points
left. The upper arrow points towards the gate, and the Cat Hood hints that
there might be an Earth Spirit somewhere around here. Go left and pick up 3
COINS, and you'll soon come to another signpost.
Ignore the bottom arrow for the time being, and follow the upper arrow to the
left. Keep going even though the path is hard to find at one point, it's there,
and there are no side paths. Eventually you'll find another signpost, and the
bottom arrow points right, to a treasure chest with a [HI-POTION]. The upper
arrow takes you left and eventually (the path is dark and covered with plant
growth, but keep going!) you will find a clearing with an Ordinary Switch, Turn
it on and return to the now open WAVE GATE.
Go through the WAVE GATE and pick up 3 COINS and you'll meet another spirit
called AVANI. This is the EARTH SPIRIT, and not only can she operate Earth
Switches, she can also destroy walls!
From the signpost by the Wave Gate, follow the bottom arrow back to the second
signpost. Now, you can follow the bottom arrow pointing to the right, and this
quickly leads to an EARTH SWITCH. You will have a choice from the two spirits
you've found, but it's obvious which one you need. Turn the switch on (really
it's off, I guess) using the Earth Spirit, and this opens the adjacent CLOUD
GATE just to to the left of the switch. The path takes you to the blue warp
crystal and to B2
NOTE: You might want to leave here after getting the Earth Spirit, and
investigate those walls and switches you found in previous locations. If you do
so, make sure to have sufficient Witch Gates to take you back out of the
location. See the Backtracking! section for all the details of what you can
find and where!
Walk a short distance along the path to the first signpost. The lower arrow
leads through the SOLAR GATE (but it's closed right now). From this first
signpost go right, following the direction of the upper arrow, along a long
path until you reach another signpost. You'll pick up 3 COINS just before you
get there. Follow the upper arrow to the path to the right, (it's a long way)
until you find a normal switch and 3 more COINS. Operate the switch and it
opens the SOLAR GATE.
Return to the signpost and take the unmarked path back to the previous
signpost, and straight on through the Solar Gate. Continue until you find
another signpost, and a friendly Blue Cat Hood who has nothing useful to tell
you. From here, follow the lower arrow left, and you'll find a blue crystal
warp to C2. Walk along the path until you pick up 3 COINS reach an EARTH
SWITCH. Use the Earth Spirit and this opens the FOG GATE. (THIS IS ESSENTIAL!
If you don't open this gate you won't be able to progress through C to obtain
the Egg, and will have to backtrack all the way here again.)
Return to the warp and back to B. Walk back to the signpost and this time
follow the upper arrow and this takes you to an Earth Switch that has already
been activated, and a locked SOLSTICE GATE. You need the Wind Spirit to change
the switch back, and open this gate. However, you can follow the upper signpost
arrow to the right and you'll find a treasure chest with a [WITCH AROMA].
Backtrack now, along the unmarked path from the Solstice Gate, to the previous
signpost, and again, along the unmarked path back through the Solar Gate to the
signpost near the first warp where you entered this area. Follow the upper
arrow straight on (I marked the bottom one with a ? to indicate that there was
still something more to find in this direction) until you reach the signpost.
Assuming you have already turned on the switch that's found if you take the
right hand path, simply go left to reach the Warp to C.
NOTE You'll notice two treasure chests tantalisingly out of reach just above
this warp point, and these are the ones you can reach later when you have the
Wind Spirit.

Walk along a short path to the first signpost and follow the left lower arrow,
past the Blue Cat Hood. It's quite a long path and you'll end up at a
treasure chest containing a [WITCH HERB]. Return to the signpost, and take the
upper arrow path, which leads to a second signpost.
Since you have obtained the Earth Spirit, just face the wall that blocks the
right hand path and select to use the Earth Spirit to break it down!. Walk
along a short path to find a treasure chest containing a boring [GECKO
EXTRACT].
The left upper arrow quickly takes you to another signpost, and the left lower
arrow of this one takes you to 3 COINS, and a treasure chest containing a
pathetic [POTION]. Return to the signpost and this time, follow the upper arrow
to the right.
You'll soon reach yet another signpost with a Blue Cat Hood who has some gossip
to impart. The left lower arrow takes you down a short path to a treasure chest
with a WITCH AROMA, and right upper one takes you to the FOG GATE. Go through
here and collect the EGG!
NOTE: You must have opened the Fog Gate using the Earth Spirit on a switch that
you can only access from B. You will see this switch to the right of the gate
(but it's inaccessible from here) as a reminder, in case you arrive at a locked
gate!
Take on step forwards and there is a short scene, and you meet Delphi, the
Summer Witch, who invites three of you to her villa for a banquet...well, maybe
not. You'll find many familiar enemies here, but they will appear in much
bigger groups, for example 4 Rabid Wolves instead of just one or two. Practice
your skills with these, the Tin Man's Full Swing, and Strawman's Gnaw is often
a useful combination. Dreamland is also quite effective on larger groups of
fast enemies as they will miss their turns is they are stay asleep.
Walk along the beach path until you find the first signpost and a Cat Hood. The
upper arrow points ahead and takes you to a wall that requires you to use the
Earth Spirit to remove. At the far end of this path, there's a treasure chest
containing a [HI-POTION]
Follow the lower arrow to the left and pick up 3 COINS and continue along the
beach until you reach the next signpost. Follow the lower arrow to the left,
and this leads to an ordinary switch that opens the PEACE GATE. There are also
3 COINS on the beach and a friendly Blue Cat Hood After turning on the switch,
return to the signpost and follow the path indicated by the upper arrow. This
takes you through the PEACE GATE and to the blue crystal warp to B.

inflict poison but don't bother healing this during a battle, and watch out for
the automatic selection of healing items if you don't want to waste a turn!
Follow the path, which leads through some trees to a signpost (and a Cat Hood).
The upper arrow points directly ahead and the lower one, left. This leads back
to the beach and to two treasure chests: the left chest contains a [MOONFLY
POWDER] and the right one has a [MORNING BELL]. You might also spot the BLACK
GHOST here and be careful not to run into by mistake!
Return to the signpost and carry on along the upper arrow path quite a way,
until you reach another signpost on the beach. Pick up 3 COINS, and you'll see
a gate ahead. The lower arrow leads directly to the JUNE GATE which is shut, of
course. Follow the upper arrow until you reach yet another signpost.
The bottom arrow points left and takes you to the warp point to C, and on to
the rest of the Stardust Beach.

IMPORTANT LOCATION! - FATHER DRAGON
If you want to get the next set of skills from the second Father Dragon, then
follow the upper arrow which takes you to an ordinary switch that opens the

path back going straight past the signpost to the next one (on the beach) and
turn right, to walk through the open gate.
There is a warp point here (and a Cat Hood that warns you that there is a
dangerous old man who will get mad if you don't bring him food. Ignore this, as
it just applies to the Cat and not to you! Take the warp and it returns you to
another part of A where you'll find Father Dragon. Gou Yoku. See the separate
section (STARDUST BEACH A: Father Dragon 2) for full details about these
battles. If you're around level 20 you should manage to win the first battle
with him.
NOTE: You could fight him for the first skill on this first visit because it
gives Dorothy the Cleanse spell to cure abnormal status effect, and there are
many poisonous enemies in this stage. After defeating him, return to the
castle, heal up and then complete the rest of the stage. Alternatively, open up
everything on your first visit, complete the stage and then return to tackle
Father Dragon when your levels are higher and you've more gold to buy the
better equipment.

Walk along the path to a clearing with a locked DUSK GATE and two single
signposts. Leave the left one until later, as it leads to a locked gate. Follow
the right hand one first and you'll arrive at a beach with another signpost.
The upper right arrow leads to a treasure chest containing a [WITCH GATE]. (You
can see a blue warp crystal behind the chest, but there is no access through
the trees.)
The lower arrow takes you to the left and eventually you'll arrive at a wide
sandy area with two treasure chests and 3 COINS. The chests contain a
[HI-POTION] and [SWAMP SCALE]. Keep going under a rock bridge and along this
path with the sea to your right. You'll reach yet another signpost, with the
lower arrow taking you back to the trees, and the upper one continuing along
the beach.
Keep going along the beach path for what feels like forever, and eventually
you'll come to a beach with an Earth Switch and a BLACK GHOST! As usual, avoid
the ghost and use the EARTH SPIRIT on the switch. This opens the TEMPEST GATE.
In fact, it also opens the DUSK GATE, so you can take a shortcut back. Simply
return to the signpost and follow the lower arrow into the trees, and you'll
end up back at the Dusk Gate.
This time follow the other arrow to the left (if you're facing the Dusk Gate)
and through the open Tempest Gate. There's a Blue Cat Hood with nothing of
interest to say, but carry on and pick up 3 COINS and you'll soon find an Earth
Switch on the beach. This is one of those switches that is already set and
needs a Wind Spirit to activate it (and open the JULY GATE) so you'll have to
return here later.
There's a path leading out to sea to the right side of the switch, and at the
end you'll find a blue crystal warp to B. Yes, that's right, it's back to B,
and then, it's just a short path with no enemies and you'll find the EGG at the
far end and that clears the stage.
LOCATION: Stardust Beach A
If you just want to get here quickly and have already found the treasure and
opened the all the gates, then, from the start of A, walk up to the first
signpost, turn left, and then right at the second signpost and through the
Peace Gate. Take the warp to to B. Walk to the first signpost and go straight
on, and keep going past the second signpost and that takes you directly to the
June Gate. Go through this gate and take the warp back to A.
Walk forwards (there are no enemies) and you will find a strange orange looking
figure on the beach. This is the second of the Dragon masters! Agree to
challenge him and you're in the first of three battles to obtain all his spells
and skills for everyone. You could leave this until later on and do all three
battles at once, or keep returning here to tackle him one battle at a time as
you get stronger. In fact, you don't have to fight him at all: I beat the
game on my first playthrough with only the first three skills, having somehow
missed Gou Yoku altogether!
Talk to Gou Yoku and agree, and that's all you need to do to start the battle,
apart from the fact that you must have already defeated Io at Budding Highlands
three times, and learned all his skills. If you haven't yet done that, then you
cannot challenge Gou Yoku.
-------------
1. BATTLE ONE
-------------
1000 HP (estimate)
Rewards: 800 experience
1 Witch Gate
With the team at around level 20 (and some Moonfly Powders!) you should manage
to beat him. Ideally have the best equipment for this "season", or at least the
best you can afford or find.
His Poison Vapor attack will poison one ally and do a lot of damage if you
don't immediately heal this, so cure this with a Witch Herb. His Cowardice Wind
attack will reduce your speed, but only for the active party, so either use
Dorothy's Overclock spell to rectify this, or change your team! He also uses
Hard Hit which can do a fair amount of damage, and if he uses this twice in one
round (which he will) that could take out a weaker character. Remember that
even if you remove someone from the active team, any status effect will remain,
so you must cure them from poison even if they are not fighting.
Use Gnaw on him to reduce his defence and keep hitting him hard. Make good use
of the Tin Man's Marksman skill to ensure high damage on your opponent. This
might be an easy fight to win, since he spends most of his time inflicting
status effects rather than directly attacking you, and it was for me the first
time I tried it, but the team were at high levels. At level 19 it's tough, and
you will need to keep everyone healed up using Hi-Potions as well as Healing
Hand, and reviving anyone that is downed.
The team will learn:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
| Ally | Skill/Spell | Effect | Target | MP |
|----------+---------------+--------------------------------+------------+----|
| DOROTHY | Cleanse | Cures abnormal status effects. | One ally | 06 |
| STRAWMAN | Tomato Bomb | Causes confusion. | Some Enem | 04 |
| LION | Half-Life | Halves current HP. | Some Enem | 06 |
| TINMAN | Turnip Spirit | Big damage to shell-type enemy | Single En | 06 |
|__________|_______________|________________________________|____________|____|
-------------
2. BATTLE TWO
-------------
1100 HP (estimate)
Rewards: 1200 experience
1 Witch Gate
This is a repeat of the previous battle, and it's not much more of a challenge.
Once again he uses Poison Vapor, and a Hard Hit attack. You could use Gnaw to
decrease his defence and Overclock to speed everyone up. Cure poison, which is
easier to do now you have Dorothy's Cleanse spell, and hit him hard. I found he
used Cowardice Wind more often this time around, and just kept casting
Overclock in return. Dorothy is important for her skills in this battle, and
then, just use Lion or Tin Man to attack.
The team will learn:
,-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
| Ally | Skill/Spell | Effect | Target | MP |
|----------+---------------+--------------------------------+------------+----|
| DOROTHY | Heaven's Door | Revives a fallen unit. | One ally. | 10 |
| STRAWMAN | Fox Hunt | Decreases accuracy. | Some Enem | 04 |
| LION | Wild Cry | Scares target to a standstill | Some Enem | 08 |
| TINMAN | Body Press | Big damage to ghost-type enemy | Single En | 08 |
|__________|_______________|________________________________|____________|____|
---------------
3. BATTLE THREE
---------------
1500 HP (estimate)
Rewards: 1800 experience
1 Witch Gate
His attacks are the same as before, but they will inflict much more damage this
time. Make sure to keep Dorothy alive since she has the revive spell now,
should anyone else be downed. (That spell doesn't heal all HP, but it does give
around 20%.)
Once again, use Overclock to counteract the speed down Cowardice Wind, or Gou
will be able to get his two attacks in before you can. Of course, you can now
use Fox Hunt on him, to decrease the accuracy of his attacks, although it only
appeared to make him miss once, so I don't think this is as useful as Gnaw. Use
a Life Tree Ash to heal up everyone at once if you need to.
The team will learn:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
| Ally | Skill/Spell | Effect | Target | MP |
|----------+---------------+--------------------------------+------------+----|
| DOROTHY | Mirror Skin | Puts up a magic reflector | One ally | 06 |
| STRAWMAN | Falcon Swoop | Deals instant death randomly | Single En | 04 |
| LION | D-formation | Raises defence | Some allies| 08 |
| TINMAN | Triple Strike | Big damage to plant-type enemy | Single En | 10 |
|__________|_______________|________________________________|____________|____|
Afterwards, Gou Yoku will tell you that there is a third Father Dragon in the
Land of Autumn, and there you can learn the last three skills for everyone.

There's a big change in the enemies with new versions of old friends and some

attack you, and they are no pushover, will a powerful spell that targets one
and an agility reducing skill that makes your attacks more likely to miss. You
could use Overclock to counteract this spell, or a targeted skill such as the
Tin Man's Marksman. Aged Bones are fast and powerful and especially dangerous
if there is more than one.
Walk forwards and you'll arrive at a Wind Vane and three gates, two of which
are shut. The Wind Vane points to the open DAWN GATE, so there's no choice but
to go through here and you'll soon find a signpost. Follow the bottom left
arrow until you reach a platform with an Ordinary Switch. Turn this on and it
opens the HEAT GATE. Return to the signpost and follow the direction of the
upper arrow which takes you through the now open Heat gate. Go left to a red
carpeted platform and you'll find the WIND SPIRIT, SEREFINO!
If you want a useful weapon for Strawman, now you have the Wind Spirit, return
to the world map and back to Boom Boom Forest . See the backtracking section
for the details!
Return to the three gates after getting the Wind Spirit and use the spirit on
the Wind Switch. You'll blow the wind vane around opening and closing gates.
This is the sequence, starting from the default position with the Dawn Gate
open and the other two closed.
1. Morning Gate opens and Dawn Gate closes
2. Noon Gate open and Morning gate closes
3. Noon Gate closes. (Now all gates are closed.)
4. Dawn Gate opens.
You need the Noon Gate to be open first. Go through, and continue along the
winding wooden jetty for a long way, until you reach a signpost. Go straight on
and you'll find a wall blocking the upper arrow path. Use the Earth Spirit to
break it down, and keep going until you reach a dead end and a treasure chest
with a [MOONFLY POWDER].
Return to the signpost and follow the bottom arrow a short distance. Pick up 4
COINS and operate the ordinary switch at the end of the path to open the NIGHT
GATE. Return to the three gate area and use the Wind Spirit on the Wind Vane
three times (!) to open the MORNING GATE. Head up through this gate and pick up
3 COINS from the red carpet before passing through the open NIGHT GATE to the
warp to B.
NOTE: Returning from B to A, I found a BLACK GHOST lurking on the red
carpeted area between the two gates.

Walk along the wooden path until you reach the first signpost, and then follow
the lower arrow straight on. (The upper arrow to the right leads to a locked
gate.) You'll reach a signpost under a roofed area and then, follow the bottom
arrow to the right to pick up a [WITCH AROMA] from a treasure chest. Return to
the signpost and follow the direction of the upper arrow around various twists
and turns of the walkway, until you reach another signpost. The bottom arrow
points left and leads to a [SWAMP SCALE] in a treasure chest behind a central
covered well.
There's a not very obvious path leading to the left from this well. Follow a
number of twists and turns and you'll find 3 GOLD COINS and reach an area with
a Fire Switch and the closed WARMTH GATE at the left. You need the WATER SPIRIT
to douse the flame, so this is one to return to later. See the Backtracking
section for full details.
Back to the signpost and take the other direction. You will end up at a large
round covered veranda with a treasure chest at the far side, and an Ordinary
Switch in the centre. The Switch opens the SILVERFISH GATE, and the chest
contains a [HI-POTION].
Return to the signpost and follow the unsigned path back to the previous

This place confused me so much the first time playing I kept going around in
circles, and I had to make a map to work it out, and after that, well, that's
how this FAQ got started!
Watch out for a combination group of Hood enemies as they will increase their
speed as well as decreasing yours. Counter this by using Dorothy's Overclock
spell each time you run into them! You can also steal Life Tree Ash from the
Big Blue Hood. The new Night Wolf will also increase its speed and it can
manage many attacks in one round after that, so keep everyone in good health!
You start at a well type place with hanging curtains on two sides of it. Make
your way around this structure to the only exit, and walk to the corner where
you'll pick up 3 COINS. Continue along this path until you reach the first
signpost. Follow the left bottom arrow a short way and you'll find a large
circular platform with some trees in the middle. Go all the way to the far side
for a treasure chest containing a [HI-POTION]. Walk around to the path (there's
only the one opening back from here) and back to the signpost.
Now you're going in the direction of the upper arrow and you'll soon arrive at
another large square platform with hanging curtains, and this is the hub of the
place. There's a wind vane switch in the middle and three locked gates. You can
only enter the central carpeted room from the Well and August Gate directions.
Use the Wind Spirit on the switch and blow the wind vane around opening and
closing gates. This is the sequence, starting from the default position with
all three gates closed:
1. August Gate opens.
2. Well Gate opens and August Gate closes
3..Shade Gate opens and Well Gate closes.
4. Shade Gate closes. (All three gates are closed)
Start by opening August Gate and go through here, and you'll find a welcome
healing fountain that replenishes all HP and MP at the end of a long path. You
could stay around here for some time, levelling up the party if you're still
finding the battles troublesome. Return to the switch and open Well Gate. You
can leave the exploration until later, as you need to open another Gate first.
Close Well Gate and open Shade Gate. The path through this gate is long and
circuitous, but keep going until you arrive at another large circular
structure. Walk around to the right and you'll find an Earth Switch. Use the
Earth Spirit on it and the SULTRY GATE opens up. Be careful if you decide to
explore around here, because there is (nearly) always a BLACK GHOST just past
the switch.
Go back to the three gates area, and open Well Gate. You'll need to operate the
switch 3 times to do this, so you might as well take the opportunity to nip
through the open August Gate first, and heal everyone before proceeding.
Walk through Well Gate and you'll end up at a square well structure, similar to
the one at the start of this stage. There are 3 COINS around the back and
there's another path that leads off from the left. This takes you to the SULTRY
GATE, and you can see the blue crystal warp behind the gate. So long as you
opened this gate you can proceed to D.
NOTE
If you don't have all the skills from the Father Dragon then don't worry. You
can still beat the boss without them all! However, you could return to Stardust
Beach and fight him at these higher levels.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FOREVER SUMMER VILLA D
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Walk forwards and turn to your right and you'll encounter Delphi again. Poor
thing is allergic to metal and not that pleased to see the Tin Man again, cue
Battle! (My team were at level 23 for this battle.)
o-------------------------o
| B O S S : DELPHI |
o-------------------------o
| HP: 1200 (estimate) |
| Experience : 2406 |
| Rewards: 1 Miracle Dust |
o-------------------------o
Delphi has two Lil Blue Hoods with her, and you should kill those first of all.
because they will increase speed and heal Delphi if you don't. They have less
than 50 HP so it's easy enough to take them out with anyone in the team.
Delphi's main attack is Coconut Drop that will do around 50 - 70 HP damage
depending on the character. Other than that she will just attack you and that
attack won't hurt a lot. At some point she will use Magic Focus, and any spell
she uses for her next turn will do double the damage. She can launch
Earthquake, an attack on everyone that will inflict around 100 HP damage if
it's boosted, and Temptation is her sneakiest attack that can charm everyone
(though it is likely to miss one or two.)
You cannot control a charmed character, but they don't seem to do anything to
help Delphi out, so it's not too bad. Use a Gecko Extract to cure anyone that
is charmed or Dorothy's Cleansing spell, and switch them out of the line-up
until you've restored them to normal. Earthquake does more damage to Dorothy
than to Strawman, so he's a better character to use with Tin Man, at the start
of a round after Delphi has used Magic Focus.
You can use Gnaw on her to reduce defence, but if you use Overclock or any
status boosting spells such as D-Formation, Delphi will often counter this with
Magic Thunder which removes all boosts, including her own. One strategy is to
keep using Overclock, forcing her to use Magic Thunder, which takes up one of
her turns. Tin Man's Marksman is the best attack to use on her, or Lion's
Warrior Heart
The most dangerous moment is if your team are not at full health and she does
Magic Focus for her first move and then Earthquake, for the second. That could
kill everyone! Use the Life Tree Ash item rather than a single Hi-Potion to
heal up everyone at once if you want to avoid that eventuality!
When her HP is getting low Delphi starts using Healing Hand on herself, and
this is what make this battle slightly more tricky. She'll use this twice in
one round, quickly restoring her HP. (I estimated that each spell heals her for
around 100-120 HP.) You need to keep up the pressure at this point, perhaps
using Gnaw again, and hitting her as hard as you can.
Beat her, and, after a night of partying, you can take the flying Egg to clear
the stage.
You'll be back at the Castle, and Oz will update you on the Egg collection, 6
down, and 4 to go, and the Autumn season area will open up. The shop has
increased its stock, so it's a good time to do some shopping.

WIND SPIRIT LOCATIONS
---------------------
You will find SEREFINO, the Wind Spirit, in Forever Summer Villa A.
1. BOOM BOOM FOREST B
From the start of Boom Boom Forest B, walk to the first signpost and go left
through the Solar Gate. At the next signpost follow the upper arrow until you
reach the SOLSTICE GATE, a switch and a signpost. Use the Wind Spirit on the
switch to open the gate and go through, following a long path, until you reach
a clearing amidst the rocks, with two treasure chests.
You'll find a Cat Hood who tells you that some weapons can be used as items in
battle. You'll get a [LIFE TREE ASH] from the left treasure chest and [STRENGTH
SPEAR] from the right. This weapon for Strawman can be used as an item to heal
an ally, and you'll be able to select it from the item inventory with anyone,
during a battle.
2. STARDUST BEACH C
Make your way back to Stardust Beach C and go straight up from the warp and
turn left at the Dusk Gate. Follow the path until you reach the beach and keep
going until you arrive at the Earth Switch. Use the WIND SPIRIT on the weighted
balance to open the adjacent JULY GATE. Continue to the end of the path (it's a
long one) and you'll find a blue crystal warp back to B. Here you'll discover a
single treasure chest containing the rare item: [MIRACLE DUST].
-------------------------
3. WATER SPIRIT LOCATIONS
-------------------------
You will find the Water Spirit, Varun, in Autumn Rapids A.
1. FOREVER SUMMER VILLA B
Make your way through Forever Summer Villa A (just go straight on from the
start to find the warp crystal) and from the start of B follow the path until
you get to the first signpost. Go straight on until you reach the second sign,
and go left. At the third signpost, follow the bottom arrow left and you'll
reach a covered well. Hug the left fence and you'll see a path leading left.
Follow this twisting path to the end and there's a Fire Switch that is already
lit.
Use the WATER SPIRIT to put out the flames and this opens the WARMTH GATE to
the left of the switch. Go through the open gate and you'll pick up 1 GOLD
COIN. Keep following this twisty path and you'll find a a large round covered
area with a treasure chest in the middle. This contains the valuable [MIRACLE
DUST].

Return to the signpost and go right, in the direction of the upper arrow.
The next signpost appears at the left of the path and it's easy to miss it if
you're running fast, so keep an eye out for it. The lower arrow points left,
and takes you to the locked FLOCCUS GATE, so leave this for now, and follow the
upper arrow straight on. You'll find 3 COINS on the path, and eventually reach
a bubbling stream crossing the path. Simply walk through the stream and there's
a signpost on the far side.
Follow the left bottom arrow a short distance and you'll find an Earth Switch.
Use the Earth Spirit on the balance and this will open the FLOCCUS GATE. Return
to the signpost and follow the upper arrow and you'll find 3 COINS and a
treasure chest containing a [SWAMP SCALE].
Make your way back to the signpost and keep going straight on, back over the
stream, until you reach the previous signpost. Turn to the right, and follow
the direction of the bottom arrow. You'll pick up 2 COINS and then go through

1. Mist Gate opens
2. Mist Gate closes and Windstorm Gate opens.
3. Windstorm Gate closes and Nightfall Gate opens.
4. Nightfall Gate closes. (All three gates are closed)
Use the Wind Spirit on the switch to open the MIST GATE and walk along the path
to find a treasure chest containing a [LIFE TREE ASH]. There's only one enemy
on this short path. Return to the switch and use the Wind Spirit twice to open
the NIGHTFALL GATE.
Head through the open gate a fair distance until you reach a signpost. Ignore
the upper arrow that points straight on, because this takes you to a Water

There are two new enemies here, and they can both do a lot of damage: the Jelly
Mage is a powered version of the Jelly type monsters you've met before and have
Ice Bomb (an attack on one), Water Blast (an attack on all), and Confusion Song
which can muddle you all! If they turn up with the Dirty Gas gang this can be
tricky since the gas guys can silence you all as well as self destructing! The
game will automatically select status healing items if you're hit with these
attacks, so be careful to check exactly what you want to do before tapping OK.
(At level 25 without the better equipment sold during Autumn, I ended up with
everyone dead except Dorothy, two Jelly Mages still alive, no MP left, and
silenced anyway even if she did has some MP. We survived, just!)
If you walk forwards and cross a stream and a bridge, and you'll arrive at a
locked FESTIVE GATE, but you cannot go any further in this direction. So, from
the start, turn around and go in the other direction. Keep going past the first
signpost, following the bottom arrow straight on, for a VERY LONG WAY!
Eventually you'll cross two wooden bridges, pick up 3 COINS, and find an Orange
Cat Hood who hints that maybe things aren't quite as they should be regarding
taking Eggs from all these areas. The Earth Switch balance is already in the
Earth position, so you must use the opposing element: the WIND SPIRIT, to
change it. This opens the HARVEST GATE. (By the way, you'll spot another Cat
Hood and switch on a rocky area opposite this place, so at least you know
roughly where to go next: the LONG WAY ROUND! And my map is not accurate in
terms of the precise positioning of the switch areas, but that shouldn't matter
too much, I hope!)
Before backtracking, carry on from the switch and you'll cross another couple
of bridges with 2 COINS to pick up. You'll find a treasure chest with a useful
[MOONFLY POWDER] at the end of the path. Walk back to the switch and then, all
the way back to the signpost. Take the other route, following the upper arrow,
and you'll quickly reach another signpost. Head left, in the direction of the
bottom arrow to find two treasure chests, with a [GECKO EXTRACT] in the left
one and a [MAGIC DROPLET] in the right. You might also spot a BLACK GHOST here.
Back at the signpost, carry on following the upper arrow and cross two streams.
There are 3 COINS soon after that, and you'll go through the open HARVEST GATE,
and over a bridge to an open platform. Here you'll find another Earth Switch,
and you must use the WIND SPIRIT to change the balance and open the FESTIVE
GATE. Chat to the Orange Cat Hood for a nice Alice reference!
Return all the way back to the blue crystal where you started out. (Run
straight back along the path, past the first signpost and left at the
second and you'll be back at the start of the area.) Go past the blue warp and
through the open gate to clear the stage.

going (it's a long way) until you pick up 4 COINS, and eventually you'll reach
an open area with a Cat Hood, the CITRUS GATE, a Fire Switch that's burning,
and a signpost. First of all follow the sign to the left to find a treasure
chest and a [WITCH GATE]. Then, use the WATER SPIRIT to put out the fire and
open the gate. Go through, and keep going, and you will find the blue warp
crystal. This takes you to stage C and to Father Dragon.
Walk along the bridges until you see someone standing in the middle of an area.
Talk to him and it's another Father Dragon. He mentions Gou Yoku in the Land of
Summer, whom you learned three skills from. At least, IF you have learned these
skills, he will let you fight him and learn more. See the separate section for
details on these fights and the skills.
Return to the first signpost and take the upper fork. This leads to another

Enemies appear in larger groups here, and you'll encounter the very fast Moon
Bats and sneaky Poison Pippens that often appear together. As well as
inflicting poison the Pippens can reduce your agility, and when that happens
your chances of hitting the Moon Bats are reduced. You could use some status
spells on these enemies, such as Sleep (with Dorothy) or Confusion (with
the Strawman's Tomato Bomb skill). Alternatively go for the Tin Man's Full
Swing on larger groups, and if all else fails, and you're getting low on health
and just want to get to the end, then don't forget about the Lion's Great
Escape spell!
Walk along the path over a number of bridges, until you reach the first
signpost (and 4 COINS). Keep going straight ahead, following the upper arrow
and you'll reach a Fire Switch where the torch is burning. Use the WATER SPIRIT
to put out the flames and open the MAJESTIC GATE.
Now, follow the bottom arrow to another signpost and the Majestic Gate that you
just opened. Leave this for now, and take the direction of the bottom arrow and
you'll soon reach yet another signpost. The upper sign points right and leads
to the Fire Switch where you can use the WATER SPIRIT to open the HAZE GATE.
Talk to the Orange Cat Hood for the first hint about the powerful Riz-Zoawd
magic!) There was another BLACK GHOST here, on one visit. The bottom arrow

takes you left, to a treasure chest with a [MAGIC DROPLET].
Return to the Majestic Gate and so straight through. There are 4 COINS to pick
up, and the path leads to HAZE GATE which is now open. Through this gate you'll

FAST TRACK
Enter A and walk up to signpost, turn right, go through the September Gate, and
take the warp to B. Inside B, walk to the first signpost and turn left. Go all
the way along the path until you reach the Citrus Gate. Go through, and take
the warp to C. From here, walk up the single path (there is only one enemy) to
find Father Dragon, Ju Kaku. Talk to him and when he asks, are you ready, yes
yes. (You might to quit the game and load the "continue" option, if you're not
confident about beating him first time!)
FIRST BATTLE WITH JU KAKU
You cannot fight him until you've learned everything from the dragon in Summer
lands, and that also means you will have had to learn everything from the
dragon in Spring Lands too. At level 30 or so, you should be ready to take on
the first of these two battles, and try and obtain the first set of skills
before fighting Holly, the boss of Autumn.
-------------
1. BATTLE ONE
-------------
1850 HP (estimate)
Rewards: 3000 experience
1 Witch Gate
His main attack is Light Shower that will silence whoever it hits as well as
doing significant damage (80 or so on the Lion with the best equipment) Use
Cleanse with Dorothy to get rid of the silence status (or a Swamp Scale item),
and you could also use the Lion's D-Formation to raise everyone's defence, and
with Overclock as well, Ju Kaku's attacks might miss altogether. His
ordinary physical attack will do slightly less damage to one party member, and
he gets two turns for each round.
He might decide to use Magic Thunder to remove any boosts or status spells, but
that doesn't matter too much, since it takes up a turn when he could be
attacking you, and you can replace the protection if you wish. The main problem
is that, despite your boosts, he has the skill, Battle Wind, which attacks 4
times at random and if three out of four of those attacks land on one (Dorothy,
for example) then they are going to be knocked out. The main task is to keep
everyone in good health to withstand this assault, and not waste time with
skills too often in case you get hit with silence and waste that turn. Use the
Strength Spear to heal one if you want to save on items, and Life Tree Ash to
heal everyone at once.
The team will learn:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------.
| Ally | Skill/Spell | Effect | Target | MP |
|----------+---------------+--------------------------------+------------+----|
| DOROTHY | Power Boost | Doubles attack power | One ally | 14 |
| STRAWMAN | Purifying Wind| Nullifies battle advantages | All | 06 |
| LION | Lion Dash | Attack with full strength | Single En | 08 |
| TINMAN | Battle Wind | Attacks 4 times randomly | All Enemies| 14 |
|__________|_______________|________________________________|____________|____|
-------------
2. BATTLE TWO
-------------
3500 HP (estimate)
Rewards: 7200 experience
1 Witch Gate
This time he will use Power Enhance to increase his attack power, and you could
use the Lion's D-Formation to raise everyone's defence against this, or the
Strawman's new skill, Purifying Mind, to remove this boost although it will
also remove any boost you've placed on your party! He will still use Light
Shower, but he has also a new all party attack called Battle Wind, that hurts
everyone, inflicting four random hits in one attack. If he does two of these in
one round, after boosting his power, then you'll probably all die!
If you don't manage to remove the boost to his power, even one physical attack
could inflict huge damage, depending on who he targets and your current level
and equipment.
As before, he might decide to use Magic Thunder to remove any boosts or
negative effect you've placed on him but that doesn't matter too much, since it
takes up a turn when he could be attacking you, and you can replace the
protection if you wish. Lion's new skill Lion Dash has a good chance of missing
the target altogether, so I wouldn't bother with that unless your levels are
high enough to have increased the Lion's accuracy. However, you could use
Dorothy's Power Boost on him or the Tin Man for heavy damage to Ju Kaku, and if
Lion Dash is used as well and connects, this can inflict colossal damage
Use up your Life Tree Ash items to heal everyone at once if you get badly
mauled, and Moonfly Wings will revive anyone with full health. The Strawman is
especially useful in this battle as he is fast and likely to get the first
turn, so you can use him to remove the Power Enhance spell immediately if Ju
Kaku casts it at the end of the previous round.
Another option is to use a status changing spell at the start of the next round
after he uses Power Enhance, and the chances are that he'll take one turn to
remove this, thus, cutting down the damage he can inflict on you! At least,
something like Overclock will help protect you if he doesn't do this.
The team will learn:

3. 4. WELCOME INN ...................................................... *W34
===============================================================================
This is a long and complicated stage, and I'll do my best to guide you through
it, but the boss fight is probably the toughest in the game, (minus the Dragons
and Black Ghosts) and you need to concentrate on obtaining sufficient gold
coins to equip everyone with the best stuff you can buy, and collecting as many
useful items as you can find or steal.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WELCOME INN A
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WARP = Blue Crystal Warp Point
SP = Signpost
FS = Fire Switch
TC = Treasure Chest
The Lil Gold Hoods will steal items from you and run off with them if you don't
kill them fast enough, but you can put them to sleep and then, steal their
useful X-Potion and kill them that way. Even if an attack wakes them up there's
a good chance that they will be disorientated and unable to do anything.
Walk forwards and you'll run into the witch, Holly, who quickly disappears,
after welcoming you to her castle of terror! (Well, it is dark and there are
lots of pumpkins around the place.) Continue to the first signpost and go left,
following the bottom arrow, to find a treasure chest with a [LIFE TREE ASH].
Back at the signpost, follow the upper arrow and pick up 3 COINS. Keep
going a long way until the path widens in front of the large inn building, and
you can pick up another 3 COINS. Here, you'll find the DEW GATE to the left,
but it's shut at the moment.
Continue along the path and you'll reach a signpost, with the upper arrow
pointing ahead, and the bottom one left. Follow the left one first, and this
takes you to 2 COINS and a treasure chest containing a [WITCH HERB]. Go back to
the signpost and carry straight on, following the upper arrow, until you reach
an open area and a Fire Switch, so the solution is pretty obvious: light it
with the Fire Spirit to open the gate. Make your way back down the path and
keep going past the signpost, until you reach the open area with the gate. Head
through the DEW GATE, (it's now to your right) and up a short path to the front
door of the building. Use the blue warp crystal to take you to B, and inside
the Welcome Inn.

Enemies will appear in larger groups now, so you need to to use tactics to deal
with this. For example, if you're faced with four Moon Ghosts who use a spell
to reduce your speed, use Dorothy's Overclock to counter this, or try a Full
Swing with the Tin Man after using a status spell such as Dreamland (from
Dorothy) or Tomato Bomb (from Strawman).
Walk along the corridor until you reach a round area with two gates and a
signpost. The gate to the left of the entrance passage is the CRICKET GATE
and the one to the straight ahead is the SHRIKE GATE. Both are locked, so
follow the signpost arrow down some stairs to the right.
At the end of this long corridor you can pick up 2 COINS and then, continue as
the passage turns to the left. (You might meet a Magic Robot Z here, but it's
on its own and is susceptible to status spells. Use a combination assault that
includes the Lion, to defeat it. Be careful that everyone has full HP as its
attacks are very powerful, but it only has one attack per round. Steal the
Moonfly Powder from it as well!)
Keep following the corridor until you reach the blue crystal that will take you
to stage C : I'll call this C2.

Walk straight ahead down the long hallway. It veers to the left and then you'll

You'll arrive in a large circular room with only one exit. Walk up the slope
following the passage until you reach a T junction. There's no signpost, but
turn left and keep going around a bend until you reach an open circular room.
Use the FIRE SPIRIT on the fire switch to open the CRICKET GATE. Go back to the
T junction and keep going in the other direction (that's straight on if you're
following these directions!)
You'll soon arrive at a signpost with two arrows. Follow the bottom arrow
straight ahead. leads to 4 COINS and at the end you'll find another Fire
Switch, and a treasure chest with a [MOONFLY POWDER]. Use the FIRE SPIRIT on
the switch and this will open the SHRIKE GATE.
Return to the signpost, and this time follow the upper arrow down a long
corridor and eventually you'll find yourself as the other side of the now open
CRICKET GATE. Turn left and walk through the open SHRIKE GATE and up the
stairs, picking up 2 COINS, and you'll soon reach the blue crystal which takes
you to the main floor of C.

TREASURE
Life Tree Ash, Steel Mane, Magic Droplet, Morning Bell, Moonfly Wing.
Follow the only route as it winds around and up, until you reach a large area
with two single arrow signposts and two locked gates. The left gate, with a
signpost pointing directly at it, is PRIMROSE GATE, and OCTOBER GATE has a
signpost to the right of it, with the arrow pointing down a hallway. Follow
this arrow down the corridor and keep going, until you reach a double signpost.
B3 WARP
Go left, following the bottom arrow, and this takes you to a warp point back to
B3. Follow the short corridor and you'll find two treasure chests at a dead
end. Left is a [LIFE TREE ASH], and right is a [STEEL MANE] armour for the
Lion. There are Gold Cat Hoods in here so be careful they don't steal your new
acquisitions! Kill the visible ones first (three sets of them) get the
treasure, and dash out of there! (Actually this could be a good place to level
up as those Big Gold Hoods give lots of experience, and all Hoods have good
items to steal. You can also arrange things so you kill lots of them here, go
to the other warp to heal up, return and kill more and so on, as long as you
like!)
B4 WARP - HEALING FOUNTAIN AND BLACK GHOST
Return to the signpost, and this time follow the upper arrow, and you'll reach
a wall blocking the corridor, and a turning to the right. The right passage
leads to a blue crystal warp and you can get back to B from here and a welcome
healing fountain. Follow the corridor (there's only one monster) until you
reach the healing fountain and two treasure chests. The left contains a [MAGIC
DROPLET], and the right one has a [MORNING BELL].
There might be a BLACK GHOST lurking here to the right of the fountain. Unless
you're hunting it, just ignore it. This is a good place to level up and steal
more items if you need to, as the enemy in the corridor might be a Big Gold
Hood and other hoods. Return to C2 and back to the junction.
WALL AND FIRE SWITCH
Use the Earth spirit to break the wall and carry on into a large room with
3 COINS. There's a passage leading up to the right from this round room, so
follow it up to find a Fire Switch. Light this with the FIRE SPIRIT and it
opens the PRIMROSE GATE. Return to the signpost and take the unsigned path
(going down some stairs) back to the two gates area.
THROUGH THE PRIMROSE GATE
Head through the open Primrose Gate, and you're in a long twisting corridor
with various Cat Hood or Magic Robot enemies. Eventually you'll reach a round
open room with a Fire Switch and a treasure chest. Light the Fire Switch using
the FIRE SPIRIT, which opens the OCTOBER GATE, and take the contents
of the treasure chest, a valuable [MOONFLY WING] which revives and fully heals
a downed ally. Return to the two gates area, and go through the OCTOBER GATE.
This is just a short corridor with no enemies. Pick up 2 COINS and then take
the blue warp crystal to D.
IMPORTANT
This boss battle is very tough and if you haven't got all the best equipment
and a good stock of items, you could head back to Oz's Castle now for some
shopping. It's easy to get back here once you've opened all the gates, as the
route is direct, once you're inside the Welcome Inn.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WELCOME INN D
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll arrive inside a large and lavishly decorated room and you can see Holly
waiting for you at the top of some steps. Make sure to check that everyone has
the best equipment and full health, together with a good amount and range of
healing items. Save your game using the Menu "Quit Game" option in case of
disaster so you don't lose any items you've used and can reload from this save.
In my first game my team were level 34 but only had the first three skills from
the Father Dragons and this battle took me nearly an hour before I beat her!
(And at one time everyone except Dorothy was dead, and by the end I had used up
my supply of Moonfly Powders, X-Potions, Magic Droplets, my one Moonfly Wing,
and 2 Miracle Dusts!)
This time I knew what to expect but the team were at level 31, though with 6 of
the 8 skills and 16 Life Tree Ash items, which are a life saver for boss
battles! But it was still very tough, and when I wasn't paying enough attention
(after endless self heals by Holly) she managed to kill everyone before I
killed her.
If you want an easier time of it, then obtain the 7th of the skills from
the Father Dragons! This means that you can use Battle Winds with Tin Man and
Power Boost on him from Dorothy (and at level 33 he will inflict around 200 HP
damage to her for each hit, and that means 800 + damage in just one round) as
well as Purifying Wind with Strawman to negate Holly's Magic Focus, and Lion
Dash for a powered up Lion attack.
HOLLY appears with two LIL GOLD HOODS, so take them out first, even though they
take up her turns, it's better not to have them stealing your items, and
healing Holly and decreasing your defence! You might think of using Strawman to
try and steal their X-Potions, but they don't carry anything in this battle,
and neither does Holly, so forget that idea!
Holly's Blazing Fire spell does around 50 - 60 damage to everyone, and if you
boost speed or resistance she will nullify it with Magic Thunder, (that
includes the Lion's self strength boost). Her Fireball spell does around 90
hurt to one and Dream Land can make you all sleep. This is especially annoying
as you must either waste a turn healing that status or put the person on the
bench and hope they wake up soon. Even if she hits them with a spell or strike
they can stay asleep.
But that's not the worst of it. She uses Magic Focus, which boosts her magic,
and if she uses Fireball after this, it could do 200 damage to one, and if she
does two magic attacks in one round then, you will be hard pressed to survive.
Not good at all. With Dorothy's Mirror Skin skill you can defend her (or
someone else) from her fire magic for a short while, and if you use this (or
another status boosting spell) at the start of the next round after she uses
Magic Focus, then she will waste a turn removing that boost.
Always use Marksman (or Battle Wind) with Tin Man or his attack might miss, and
keep him awake! I found that the best combination was Dorothy and Tinman but
sometimes I needed to change this, and as well as healing, I kept using a
status spell just to make sure she had to use Magic Thunder which (if you time
it right) will remove her Magic Focus boost as well as your boosts. Lion on his
own (taking up 2 slots) can be a good standby if you need an alternative for
one round. I used him to make a hit and bestow a healing or recovery item on
the others.
One nice thing is if you manage to get Mirror Skin in place on someone (maybe
Dorothy!) and then she uses Magic Focus following by a powerful fire spell, the
magic is reflected back onto her. This hit her for 276 damage on time, though
I'm not sure how it was for that much!
Use Strawman's Gnaw to decrease her defence (if you get a chance), and after
that use Marksman on the Tin Man. Use a LIFE TREE ASH to recover HP on everyone
as a quick way to heal up, since it's likely that everyone will need healing,
so it's much better to do this than cast Healing Hand or use the Strength Spear
to heal one. Ignore the game's suggestions for actions, and make your own
decisions. And use the precious Moonfly Wing if you need to, cos this fight is
the hardest in the game! (Apart from the Father Dragons, oh and the Black
Ghosts, and ...not the hardest then...)
When her HP gets low she will use the Healing Hand. In fact she might use it
twice in one round, and it's hard to calculate her HP because of this, but she
has a lot! She will keep healing herself and though that might be a relief
because she's not destroying your team, it's really frustrating because she
will do it again and again, and just when you think you're within striking
distance of killing her. This is when you need some luck (like a critical hit
from the Lion) or a reflected magic hit off your Mirror Skin. Keep up the
pressure when you see her HP is really low, even if it means not healing for
one round.
After defeating her she'll reveal more about how Dorothy and Toto managed to
end up in the land of Oz and after a nice chat about home you're free to move
again. Clear the stage by touching the egg and saying yes.
Back at the castle Oz reminds you that there is only one egg left to find, and
the Winter domain is next to explore. There is new stuff for sale at the shop,
and the full inventory is now available. Sell off the Gold Clusters and you
should be able to afford some new stuff. You'll find a new spear for Strawman
and armour for the Tin Man fairly soon in the Frozen Castle, so hold off on
those two, and invest in the new gown for Dorothy and hat for Strawman since
those two have less HP. Sell off any weaker stuff and you might be able to
afford some new weapons as well.
You can now buy Moonfly Wings and X-Potions, but don't bother with these unless
you have gold to burn, as you can steal these from enemies in the next
location.

WATER SPIRIT LOCATIONS
---------------------
You will find the Water Spirit, Varun, in Autumn Rapids A.
1. SCARLET FOREST A
Make your way through Scarlet Forest A to B. From the warp at B, walk up to the
wind vane switch and go through the NIGHTFALL GATE. Keep going past the first
signpost, following the upper arrow straight on until you reach the WATER
SWITCH. Use the Water Spirit to turn on the small fountain, and this opens the
DRIZZLE GATE. There's a blue crystal warp through this gate that takes you back
to A.
Follow the path over a stream, and for a fair way, until you reach a clearing
with a single treasure chest. This contains the [DEMOLITION AXE], a weapon for
Tin Man with high Attack, though lower Magic and Accuracy than the Alloy Axe
available from the Autumn Shop. Just use a Witch Gate to return to the world
map.
NOTE: The Demolition Axe can be used as an item during a battle, but ONLY ONCE!
It will inflict damage on all enemies, but after that, it's gone forever. Save
it for the final battle!

IMPORTANT!
Before starting this stage, make sure you have at least one Witch Gate so you
can return to the world map and Oz's Castle after opening the Aster Gate. You
can heal up and save and buy anything extra you can afford. You'll probably be
low on MP by then anyway, and it's the easiest way to get one of two items
required to open the final gate to the boss.

Beware of the Hard Rock enemies as they might self destruct causing heavy
damage to everyone, and be especially careful if you're fighting two of them at
once. Despite the risk, keep stealing Life Tree Ash items from them.
Walk forwards, past one enemy, to find the spinning Wind Cockerel and three
gates. The route to the next area is through Alley Gate, but there's another
gate that needs opening before you can progress. If you go through the December
Gate there is another gate that needs opening, but this cannot be unlocked
until you find a switch in Frozen Castle B.
This is the sequence of spins, starting from the default position with all
gates closed and the Wind Vane switch pointing towards the warp where you
arrived.
1. Alley Gate opens first.
2. Sleet Gate opens and Alley Gate closes.
3. December Gate opens and Sleet Gate closes.
4. December Gate closes, (All gates are closed.)
Start by making two spins to open SLEET GATE, and follow the short path to a
signpost. The upper arrow points right and this leads to nothing at all except
for one enemy. Follow the bottom arrow to the left along a short path to 3
COINS and a ordinary switch that opens the TIME GATE. Return to the three gates
area.
On the next spin you'll open the DECEMBER GATE and close Sleet Gate. Walk along
the path until you reach a signpost that points left (lower arrow) and straight
on (upper arrow). Continue ahead following the upper arrow, and there is a
treasure chest at the end of the path containing the [SOLDIER SPEAR]. (This is
a weapon for the Strawman that is less powerful than the Bolt Spear that you
can buy, but is a good weapon to have until you can afford that one!)
The left lower arrow leads to 2 COINS and the ASTER GATE, but you cannot open
this gate until you go through Frozen Castle B, so you could leave this for
now. (When you have opened it, you'll find the [ICE SHEET] inside a treasure
chest: see Frozen Castle B for more details.)
Back at the three gates, open the Alley Gate and head down a long twisting path
until you reach a signpost inside an icy cavern area. Follow the bottom arrow
pointing to the left, and this route leads to a treasure chest and one
[X-POTION]. The upper arrow points right, and this path takes you to 2 COINS
and the open TIME GATE. Go through here and carry on (there are no more
enemies) until you reach the warp crystal that takes you to B.

Charm Armour, Ice Sheet (through Aster Gate on A)
If you spot the slightly bigger White Cat enemy this is the White Cat Hood and
you should try and fight as many of these as you can. Although they only carry
the Magic Droplet, and have a range of attacks, including a water spell that
targets everyone, and an accuracy decreasing spell, they give massive amounts
of experience. A group of three of them will donate 3423 experience to the
cause of levelling up!
Walk forwards down a long and winding path until you reach the first signpost.
The upper arrow points straight ahead so follow that path a long way, until you
reach the second signpost. Right (the upper arrow) takes you along a short path
to open a treasure chest with [CHARM ARMOR] for the Tin Man! This is better
than the Silver Armor you could buy in the Autumn shop and it has much better
resistance.
Return to the signpost and go left, following the bottom arrow for a long way,
and you end up at a FIRE SWITCH. Use the Fire spirit to light the torch and
open the CHARM GATE.
Backtrack (yep) to the first signpost. This time, follow the bottom arrow a
short way to pick up three COINS and you'll find yourself at a junction with
two more signposts, each with just one arrow.
The right one leads to a shut WHISTLE GATE, so follow the left until you reach
a signpost. The higher arrow points right and that's a short path with no
enemies, 3 COINS and a FIRE SWITCH. Light the torch with the Fire Spirit to
open the WHISTLE GATE.
Return to the signpost and investigate the other direction (following the
bottom arrow) along a slightly longer path, with two sets of enemies, to find
the blue crystal warp point. This returns you to Frozen Castle A2. Walk up a
short path to find an Ordinary Switch. Turning this on opens the ASTER GATE.
Return to B.
Make your way back along the path to the first signpost you find and keep going
straight up to the next, and again, keep going until you reach the now open
WHISTLE GATE and pick up 3 COINS. Keep going through the second gate (CHARM
GATE) until you reach a bridge to the left, which leads to the blue warp
crystal to C.
GETTING THE KEY! - THE ICE SHEET
The easiest way to do this, is to return to the world map (save and heal up at
Oz's Castle first) and enter A again, after opening the ASTER GATE. Go through
the DECEMBER GATE to the signpost and take the lower arrow pointing left. Go
through the gate to find 2 COINS and a treasure chest containing [1 ICE SHEET.]
THIS IS ONE OF THE KEYS TO THE WINTER WITCH'S ROOM AND ESSENTIAL!
Return to the three gates and go through the Alley Gate to the first signpost.
Take the right fork following the upper arrow, to reach the TIME GATE. Pass
through, and continue to the blue crystal, and thence back to B.
Make your way to the first signpost, and go left, in the direction of the
bottom arrow. You'll quickly reach two separate signposts. Follow the one that
points right, and that leads to the WHISTLE GATE and CHARM GATE, and the blue
crystal warp to C. You might find a BLACK GHOST waiting at the left side of the
open area between the Whistle and Charm Gate.

SUMMARY
To reach the boss you must open all four Kasura Gates first, and go through to
the warp (D1) to find the Crystal Badge. You must also have obtained the Ice
Sheet from Frozen Castle A. With both of these items, take the Warp to D1. Talk
to the Cat Hood next to the gate and he/she will open the Ascension Gate for
you. Go through the gate, take the next warp and you'll be at E and the boss.
-------
You're inside the Frozen Castle, and you'll soon notice that the hallways are
arranged so you can walk down either side of a central raised walkway. There
are also rectangular blue pillar type structures that you have to walk around
at some intersections.
Walk forwards and you'll find one of these blue blocks with single signposts at
each side of it: one pointing left and the other to the right. There is a path
behind the central blue platform thing, and if you carry straight on down here,
it takes you to the blue crystal to D1. (The ASCENSION GATE is here together
with a cat that tells you what you need to open the door: the ICE SHEEET and a
CRYSTAL BLADE.) Ignore this for now.
Take the left arrow (from the entrance) and follow the central wide path. Pick
up three COINS, and at the next blue block, turn left. At the end of the
hallway is a small bubbling fountain switch. Use the FIRE SPIRIT to put it to
rest and this open KASURA GATE 1.
Return to the two arrows area and go right. (Mark the left arrow to show you
don't need to go that way again. This place can get a little confusing because
every area looks the same!) There's a signpost to the right of the hallway,
with the bottom arrow pointing left and the upper one straight on. Follow the
upper one first and head along the centre of the hallway to pick up 3 COINS. Go
to the far end and turn right at the blue block. You'll find another water
fountain switch., only this time is needs to be made to flow. Use the WATER
SPIRIT on the fountain, and this opens KASURA GATE 2. Walk back to the signpost
and follow the lower arrow past the gates you already opened, but there are
more yet!
Keep going to find another signpost. The upper arrow points right and the lower
arrow left. Go right, and turn around the blue block to head left, and you'll
find 3 COINS in the middle area of the hallway. Keep going to the far end and
there is an Earth balance switch at the end. Use the EARTH SPIRIT on this
switch and that opens KASURA GATE 3.
Return to the signpost and follow the lower arrow to the left (again, mark the
upper arrow, so you don't mistakenly go in the wrong direction). Walk along a
single corridor to yet another signpost. The upper arrow points straight on and
the lower arrow points left.
Go straight on, following the upper arrow, to the end of the hallway and then
head right. Here you'll find another Earth Switch that needs to be changed with
the WIND SPIRIT. This opens KASURA GATE 4.
Return to the signpost and follow the lower arrow to the end of the hallway and
then, turn to the right to find a treasure chest with 1 LIFE TREE ASH.
Return to the signpost again, and take the direction NOT signposted, back to
the previous signpost, and turn right (again following the direction not
signposted). The gates are found along this hallway, s goo through them all, to
find a blue crystal that takes you to Frozen Castle D2.

Walk forwards to the end of the hallway and turn to your left at the blue
block, and then. at the end of this hallway turn left again picking up 3 COINS.
At the end of the hallway, take a right, (it's only one way). There are a few
of those powerful Magic Robot SP enemies along here, but it's worth fighting
for the steal of Moonfly Wing. Keep going until you find a treasure chest
containing the [CRYSTAL BADGE]. Now, return to the blue warp and back to C.
Go back through the KASURA gates and turn left. At the signpost take the
unsigned route to the right, back to the arrow near the start. Walk up the
hallway between these two arrows to find blue crystal that takes you to D
again. Talk to the Cat if you have both the necessary items, and he'll say that
you can go through the ASCENSION GATE, and it will open, and the warp here
takes you to the boss on E. But there's more to find first!

TREASURE
Moonfly Wing, Moonfly Powder, Hi-Potion
When you arrive at D you're facing up a hallway, and you'll find the ASCENSION
GATE there (and there are no enemies in this hallway). However, don't be too
quick to go through, and turn around and go in the other direction. You'll find
yourself at a blue block with two single arrows
Go right (facing down from the warp where you arrived, and you'll come to a
signpost next to a blue block. Follow the upper arrow straight on for a while
until you reach a blue block at the end of the hallway. Head to the right,
along a narrow corridor, and you'll find a turning to the right. It's not
signposted so it it quite easy to miss if you're rolling along quickly. Go
along here and there's a healing fountain. Pretty essential after all this
fighting and a boss fight coming up!
Now, this is a very good place to level up your party. The Cat enemies give
high experience, there are lots of good things to steal and you can spend a
while here, using your most powerful skills to kill them fast, and healing up
again.
Keep going to the end of this corridor and turn right at the blue block. Keep
going, taking the next corner and you will pick up 3 COINS from the middle
passage. At the next block go left and you'll find a [MOONFLY WING] inside the
usual floating treasure chest.
Return to the signpost and mark it so you remember that this is the route to
the healing fountain. Now, follow the bottom arrow until you reach a blue
block, and turn to the right. Take the left side passage to pick up 3 COINS,
and you'll find a treasure chest with a [MOONFLY POWDER] at the end of the
short hallway.
Make your way back to the area with the two single signposts, where you began
this exploration, by following the unsigned route. Mark the signpost to show
where the healing fountain is again, and carry on following the other one.
Simply follow the only route open, skirting around the blue blocks, until you
find a treasure chest with a [Hi-POTION]. I was half hoping for some snazzy new
weapon, but I'm sorry to say there is nothing like that. However, you can find
a BLACK GHOST in this location.
Return to the healing fountain and rejuvenate everyone before heading for the
gate. You must talk to the White Cat Hood here, and if you have both items: the
Crystal Badge and Ice Sheet, they will open the gate for you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FROZEN CASTLE E
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This feisty gal is the mother of the other witches, and she claims to be the
most powerful witch in the land. Hmm, not for much longer! Make sure you're
fully healed, including MP, before you start this battle. Even without trying
to level up your team are going to be at least level 38 and powerful enough to
defeat this lady, even without all the skills or all the best equipment. In my
first game I had only 3 skills, and the 3rd grade equipment for Lion and Tin
Man, and used a combination of boosts, such as Overclock, Alert, and Strawman's
Gnaw on her, and lots of Life Tree Ash items for healing.
With better weapons and skills this is even easier, and I'll assume you have 7
of the 8 skills for this battle, with the best weapons for Tin Man and Lion.
She appears with two Lil White Hoods so take these out first to prevent them
from healing her. She might start with casting Confusion Song on everyone,
which is annoying as anyone effected by this can hit someone else on the team,
so switch in someone else and cure this status effect immediately. "Slap in the
Face" does around 45 HP damage per hit, and in fact it's four random hits in
total, regardless of how many in the active team.
You can boost resistance to her magic with the Lion's Alert spell, although she

will use Magic Thunder to remove it after a while, she seems to leave it in
place for one round, so that might be beneficial and they will even dodge her
magic. You can also use Dorothy's Overclock spell, even though she'll stop that
after a go or two as well, but while it's in place her confusion and other
spells and attacks are more likely to miss the mark.
Ice Ball will inflict major damage to one (80-120 HP) depending on who it hits
and if they have the best protective equipment or not, and Blizzard damages
everyone. With Magic Focus in place that can do around 200 HP damage to all!
When she boosts her magic be prepared for trouble, but use Dorothy and Tin Man
for the best resistance and highest HP, if you don't have the 7th skill. If you
do, then bring in Strawman to cast Purifying Wind, and he should be faster than
Protea at this level (38) even without Overclock.
Keep using Tin Man's Battle Wind, and, if you get a chance, increase its
effectiveness with Power Boost from Dorothy. Other than that, use Lion Dash
with Lion and that can do nearly as much damage as the total from Battle Wind.
(With the Artisan Axe Tin Man managed around 120-140 HP damage per hit, and
Lion around 380-400 HP with the Lion Talon.)
I swapped around with Dorothy/Strawman/Lion or Dorothy and Tin Man. Use Life
Tree Ash to heal everyone and Moonfly Wing rather than powder to revive with
full health. Be careful NOT to use the automatic selections of items. This
battle is much easier to win that the previous struggle with Holly, since she
does not heal herself.
Of course this isn't the end, and Protea explains that the ruler of the Land of
Magic has a duty to grant the wishes of everyone, and that should mean sending
Dorothy back home, which is really where she wants to be. She doubts that Oz
will honour this, but you've no choice but to ask him now you've defeated the
Winter Witch and obtained all the eggs. First of all, accept the egg to clear
the stage and get the rewards, and you'll be back at the Castle. But not for
long!
And you cannot enter the castle any more..

2. EVERGREEN OF NOVEMBER ............................................... *W42
===============================================================================
There is a new location now, just to the east of the Frozen Castle in Winter
Land. Select this, and here you'll meet Protea and work out the next step: to
follow the Yellow Brick Road to Oz's Castle. Now you can save, heal, and shop
again, though there is nothing new to buy. However, with the 4 Gold Clusters
you obtained you should be able to kit everyone out with the very best
equipment now.
(Whew, I didn't spot this place first time through, and found myself wandering
around the other lands trying to find a clue as to how to proceed and without a
way to make a save...)

The task is to find a way back inside Oz's Castle, and the only way to do this
is to follow the Yellow Brick Road again, just as you did at the start of the
game. It's located in the Spring area just to the north of the Castle, and
you'll see it shining on the map. However, it's not as simple as the first
trip, because not only are the enemies tougher (of course!) but you can
explore the areas you couldn't access before.

The new Poppy Croaker enemy usually appears on its own here, and it has a lot
of HP so a good attack to use is the Tin Man's Battle Wind. It's fast and has a
powerful attack, as well as a tendency to try and put you all to sleep. Magic
Robots might be in pairs and and Pig-Bats and Fuming Gases are also fast, but
you're used to that by now! There's nothing too difficult here, but beware the
Nutty Hermit who might self destruct if you don't kill it quickly, and it can
inflict around 100 HP damage to everyone if it does that.
Go down the road to the first signpost. Break the wall using the Earth Spirit
and follow the upper arrow track until you reach the next signpost. The upper
arrow points right and the lower one, straight on. Go right to find a treasure
chest and a [GECKO EXTRACT].
Follow the other brick road (I had to say that at some point) a long way, and
you'll reach an Ordinary Switch. This opens the SUN GATE. There are also 4
COINS to pick up at the right of the switch. Now, return to the very first
signpost where you broke the wall, and follow the lower arrow left. You'll soon
reach an open area with 2 COINS and a treasure chest to the left of the open
gate, containing one [SWAMP SCALE].
Go through the open SUN GATE and pick up 3 COINS, and after that just follow
the road until you reach the blue crystal to B.

where you can pick up 3 COINS. You might find a BLACK GHOST enemy waiting at
the far side of this circular area, and then, carry on until you reach a blue
crystal to C.
Leave this for now and turn to your right. There is another wall, to the right
of the blue crystal, that you should break using the Earth Spirit. Pick up
three COINS along this road and carry on. You are likely to be fighting pairs
of Magic Robot SPs so make sure to steal the Moonfly Wing from them (though
Strawman is not often successful at this so I gave up bothering after a while.)
You could use his Gnaw skill to good effect though, as it works on both of the
robots.
You'll soon reach the MERCURY GATE, and a signpost, but the gate is closed, so
carry on, following the lower arrow. You'll find an Earth Switch at the end of
road, and use the EARTH SPIRIT on this to open the gate. Return to the open
gate, go through, and keep going past three sets of enemies. There are 3 COINS
at the end, and two treasure chests with 1 [MOONFLY WING] in the right one, and
a [GOLD CLUSTER] in the left.
That's all, so now a little more backtracking: just return to the Mercury Gate
and go left to reach the blue crystal that takes you to C.

You'll find Poppy Croakers in pairs now, which makes them more annoying, and
even Full Swing with Tin Man won't destroy them both. But I used Strawman and
Tin Man for them. Pincers also appear in pairs. At the end of the road (it's
quite a long way with four enemies) you'll find an Ordinary Switch that opens
the VENUS GATE, and a treasure chest with 1 [LIFETREE ASH].
Return to the signpost and go back to the Venus Gate following the unmarked

(Start)
There are groups of 3 Ancient Bone enemies along this route and the easiest way
to take them all out is to use the Tin Man's Full Swing and then replace him
with Dorothy for the next round (or Strawman, if you want to steal from them.)
You'll also meet the Jackster (that can make everyone nod off to sleep) and
Snow Ape for the first time, and it's best to use the Tin Man on both of these.
Try and attack any Snow Apes you find as they give a massive 1736 experience
points just on their own! But, be aware that they often manage to make a
critical attack "right on the mark" and this could easily kill Dorothy or
Strawman.
A short distance along the road (past 2 enemies) there's a circular area with 5
COINS. (There was s treasure chest here on your first visit, but there's
nothing to find now.) Just carry on until you reach a signpost. The bottom
arrow points to the left and to MARS GATE, still shut, of course. Follow the
upper arrow and use the EARTH SPIRIT to break the wall.
Keep going until you reach another signpost. The upper arrow points straight on
and the lower one, left. Carry on past 7 or 8 sets of enemies and you'll find
the new enemy, Snow Ape on his own here. He often seems to be ambling at the
side of the road unaware of you: don't ignore him! At the far end of the road,
pick up 4 COINS and operate the Earth Switch with the EARTH SPIRIT to open the
MARS GATE.
Return to the signpost, and this time follow the lower arrow down a long
winding path to find a treasure chest containing a [WITCH GATE]. Hardly worth
the effort! Back at the signpost, carry on down the unmarked road until you
reach the next signpost. This is the one that you followed the upper arrow to
the switch. Take the lower route this time, to the now open MARS GATE. Continue
along the road to the blue warp crystal that takes you to E.
NOTE
If you're returning here after a break to heal up, then simply walk through the
MARS GATE and keep going!
IMPORTANT!
You're about to start the final area of the Yellow Brick Road and after that
you'll arrive at Oz's Palace. If you've not yet obtained all skills from the
Father Dragons, now is the time to get them! You don't have to have them all to
complete the game, but it will make your life much easier if you do. You should
also have bought all the best equipment for everyone, and check that you have
plenty of the most powerful healing items.

Nope, you're not at the castle yet and there is further to go. Jacksters will
appear in groups of three now, and that might seem a bit challenging but with
levels at around 40 you should be able to use Full Swing and take them all out
at once, and if one survives, it's easy to dispatch them on the next turn. Use
Plunder on the Snow Apes to increase your stock of Moonfly Wings, and these
enemies also give the most experience points: 1736 each!
Continue past 3 sets of enemies until you arrive at three closed gates and a
Wind Switch. Use the WIND SPIRIT on the switch and blow the wind vane around
opening and closing gates. This is the sequence, starting from the default
position with all three gates closed:
1. Saturn Gate opens.
2. Uranus Gate opens and Saturn Gate closes
3..Jupiter Gate opens and Uranus Gate closes.
4. Jupiter Gate closes. (All three gates are closed)
Enter the gate in this order: Jupiter, Uranus and then Saturn.
The JUPITER GATE takes you past 3 COINS and you'll arrive at a signpost. The
lower arrow points right, so follow this short path (with just 1 or 2 enemies)
to a treasure chest containing an [X-POTION]. The upper arrow takes you to a
Water switch so use the WATER SPIRIT and this opens the PLUTO GATE. Return to
the 3 gates area, and use the Wind Spirit threetimes (couldn't resist!) on the
switch to open the Uranus Gate.
Go through the URANUS GATE and keep going until you reach a T junction and a
signpost. The upper arrow points right, and leads to the PLUTO GATE, which you
will have opened. Pick up 3 COINS and use the FIRE SPIRIT to light the Fire
Switch, which opens the NEPTUNE GATE. The left lower arrow takes you past 3
COINS and 3 enemies, to a treasure chest with a [LIFE TREE ASH]. Return to the
3 gates area.
Finally, open the SATURN GATE, (with another three uses of the Wind Spirit).
Make your way though the gate, up some steps, and past a couple of enemies, to
meet a Cat Hood standing in front of the gate with a message for you from
Protea. Seems this is the POINT OF NO RETURN! There's no way out once you're
in, and that means saving your game, checking health and equipment and maybe
returning to the world map to learn more skills! Once you enter the NEPTUNE
GATE, that's it!
Left Hand - 1750 HP (estimate)
Right Hand - 1650 HP (estimate)
Oz appears in the middle of the Right Hand and Left Hand, and while these are
still alive they will take up turns from Oz. All together they get two turns
per round, and the Left Hand uses Gloomy Air which can silence everyone, and
the Right Hand casts Cowardice Wind to decrease everyone's speed. Apart from
that, they just hit you with a physical attack. Don't bother trying to steal
anything because none of them carries anything.
Oz has a wide range of attacks: Soundwave will inflict around 70 - 120 HP
damage to one, and his ordinary physical attack with hurt for about the same.
Assault Tide, Bursting Flare, Wind Blade, and Rock Geyser will hurt everyone
for around 50-70 HP damage.
Target the Left Hand first, even though the game will automatically target the
Right Hand to begin with. The Left Hand (which is on the right of your screen)
uses Gloomy Air which can silence everyone so this is the one to assail with
all your best attacks. Except, that it's best not to bother to use special
attacks in case it prevents you from casting spells and renders these attacks
useless. Nonetheless, there's a chance it won't, so Dorothy's Power Boost on
Tin Man and then his Battle Wind is one way to go, or use Strawman with Gnaw on
the Left Hand, Dorothy to Power Boost Lion, and Lion Dash.
You can also try Lion's Elements protective spell (which is quite effective in
reducing damage from Oz's spells), and Dorothy's Overclock which will
counteract the speed down spell, if you need to do that. One trick is to try
Strawman's Pure Luck spell and with a bit of luck you'll trigger his Heavenly
Dance attack, which (with Gnaw in place on the Left Hand) did over 600 damage
in one strike! Another quick winning tactic is to just use Dorothy and Lion
with Power Boost, Overclock and Lion Dash, and with a couple of these and one
more strike, you'll kill the Right Hand very fast.
Switch to the Tin Man and use his Battle Wind spell with Power Boost when the
hands are dead, and keep healed as there is another battle after this one.
Don't forget that you can Power Boost Lion or Tin Man while they are not in the
active party. Bring then in on the next round and the boost will take effect.
At level 42 with the best equipment Tin Man can do around 300 HP damage to Oz
for each Battle Wind hit. That's over 1200 in just one turn!
Keep everyone healed using Life Tree Ash items, and make sure they have a good
amount of MP ready for the next battle when you see Oz has low HP. Just use a
couple Magic Potions to heal MP if you need them.
Left Hand - 1750 HP (estimate)
Right Hand - 1650 HP (estimate)
The hands have changed colour to bright red, just to show they are more
dangerous I guess, or to intimidate you, but actually they are not much
different, with the same HP and just an additional spell each. Oz has
additional spells as well, Break Vibe is an upgraded version of Soundwave that
hits everyone, though for slightly less damage.
The Right Hand will increase defence (using Body Build on one) and use
Cowardice Wind again, to decrease speed. The Left Hand will try to silence
everyone again and also uses the 16th Beat spell to increase the speed of one
enemy. Heal up silence immediately or you could be stuck with a team with no
spells, and keep up the pressure until you're got rid of the Left Hand. After
that, go for the Right Hand, and now you can use Battle Wind and attack Oz too
if you want. (Or use Tin Man's Soul Break especially if his HP is low as he'll
attack with more ferocity.)
At some point Oz is likely to use the Ultimate Magic and boost ALL his stats.
This is bad news if Strawman is dead, silenced or slowed down, because you must
use him at the start of the next round to cast Purifying Wind and remove the
boost to Oz. The other alternative is to use Overclock with Dorothy (since she
has the highest speed next to Strawman and, with higher speed, Oz's attacks
might miss) and bring in Tin Man, who at least has the best defence. If he uses
this spell at the start of his turn then, there's nothing you can do, but pick
up the pieces after he's killed someone with a boosted spell.
As before, use Life Tree Ash to heal everyone at once and Moonfly Wings if they
die since these fully restore HP, or the Miracle Dust to heal up all MP as well
as HP. You can let someone die if their MP is getting low, and revive them with
this item instead of wasting time with Magic Potions.
After defeating Oz...well, I'll let you find that out for yourself!

There are two optional quests:
- to defeat the three Father Dragons in their dragon form.
- to defeat the Black Ghosts.
If you are trying to level up to defeat the Black Ghosts the best place is the
Frozen Castle. If you are trying to level up to defeat the Father Dragons final
form the best way to do this is to keep fighting lots of Black Ghosts! You will
also need all the best equipment that can only be obtained from the Black
Ghosts.
-----------------------------
-- FATHER DRAGON LOCATIONS --

You can only fight the dragon forms after you've obtained all the skills from
that Father Dragon. Note that you don't get anything for beating the first two,
besides experience points, and once defeated they do not return. However, you
do get a reward for beating the White Dragon. Information on the dragons'
skills and HP thanks to spacebee1, and details for experience and rewards for
the Black and White Dragon thanks to AcmeIvy.
I tried fighting the Red Dragon at level 55 and although I managed to get him
down to half his HP (mainly thanks to using Soul Burst with Tin Man when his HP
was very low) there's no way to win at this low level. You need everyone with
the best equipment that's dropped from the Black Ghosts, and to be at high
levels for these battles.

-- BLACK GHOST LOCATIONS --
---------------------------
They appear in many locations, and might not be there on some visits, but I
found that they did appear at the same place again and again. There are more
locations to add yet. It can be very frustrating going and back and forth to
areas and through warps hoping to trigger his appearance, and somehow he's
never there when you want him to be, and is always there when you're just
playing the game and trying to avoid him!
These are all confirmed sightings, and there might be more! Please let me know
if you find any new locations.
SPRING
01. Budding Highlands A.
There's a chance to find him on the far side of the Breeze Gate, which is
to the right at the final signpost (following the upper arrow) where
turning left takes you to the warp to B. He's just at the left of the open
area before you go under the bridge.
02. Cherry Blossom Way C
Make your way to C, and at the first signpost turn right. At the end of the
long path there's an area with a switch where the Black Ghost may appear.
03. Cherry Blossom Way B
Start by getting to Cherry Blossom Way C, and go left at the first
signpost. Go left again at the second signpost and left at the third.
You'll find a blue warp crystal to B. Just go to the dead end and a Black
Ghost may appear. (Note that this area is only accessible after you've
found the Earth Spirit and opened the Bloom Gate.)
04. Palace of Flowers C.
Go right at the 4 gates and then left at the signpost. Break down the wall
at the left of the hallway, using the Earth Spirit and you'll find the
Black Ghost inside the room behind the wall.
SUMMER
05. Boom Boom Forest A
Go left at the first signpost, and left again at the second. At the third
signpost turn left and you up in an area with an ordinary switch. The Black
Ghost might be here.
06. Boom Boom Forest B
A Black Ghost can be found in Boom Boom Forest B. You must have the Wind
Spirit to reach the area. From the start of B go to the first signpost and
take a left through the Solar Gate. At the next signpost follow the upper
arrow until you reach the Solstice Gate, a switch and a signpost. Use the
Wind Spirit on the switch to open the gate and go through to the rocky
area.
07. Stardust Beach A.
Follow the signposts to the warp to to B, and there is sometimes a Black
Ghost on the beach, just before the Peace Gate.
08. Stardust Beach B
From the start of B, turn left at the first signpost and there's a Black
Ghost at the end of the path (where you also find two treasure chests.)
09. Stardust Beach C
Assuming you've completed this area and opened the gates, walk up from the
warp and go through the Dusk Gate. Follow the path to the signpost and turn
left. The Black Ghost is found on the beach where there's an Earth Switch.
10. Forever Summer Villa A
A Black Ghost appeared on the red carpet through the Morning Gate, and just
before entering the Night Gate. Simply walk directly up from the starting
warp. If he's not here, enter the warp to B and return to A as many times
as it takes!
11. Forever Summer Villa C
There's always a Black Ghost near to the Earth Switch if you go through the
Shade Gate. To find the gate, from the starting warp, follow the path to
the first signpost and turn right to the area with the three gates.
AUTUMN
12. Scarlet Forest C
From the starting warp, turn around (otherwise you end up at the Festive
Gate) and walk to the first signpost. Go right, and then left at the next
signpost. This takes you to a dead end where you found two treasure chests,
and there is a Black Ghost hanging around here.
13. Autumn Rapids C
From the warp from B, walk straight ahead to the first signpost and turn
left. At the next signpost, keep going left to another signpost. Follow the
upper arrow right, and you'll find the Fire Switch and a Black Ghost
lurking nearby.
14. Welcome Home Inn B
Walk right from the October Gate, and at the signpost, turn right again.
There is an unmarked corridor to the right, just before you reach a large
circular library room. Follow this to find a warp back to B. At the end of
the corridor you'll find a healing fountain and a Black Ghost.
WINTER
15. Frozen Castle B
Find a Black Ghost in the open area between the Whistle Gate and Charm
Gate.
16. Frozen Castle D
Follow the sign that points to the left (starting from Warp C) and a Black
Ghost is sometimes found in the area at the end of the passage. (It's in
the opposite direction from the healing fountain.)
YELLOW BRICK ROAD
17. Yellow Brick Road B
You can sometimes find a Black Ghost lurking in the open circular area
where there is a blue crystal warp point to C.
18. Yellow Brick Road C
There might be a Black Ghost at the open area to the right of the first
signpost, if you follow the upper arrow pointing right from the Venus Gate.

-- BLACK GHOST BATTLE --
-------------------------
I managed to defeat my first BG at level 48 thanks to advice from spacebee1 and
the posters on the Wizard of Oz board, and a little luck!
First, when you find him somewhere, quit your game, making a temporary save and
reload using the option "Continue". At least you can fight him again if you
fail to defeat him. Also note that you can find and fight the same Black Ghosts
as many times as you like, but the drop will always be the same based on
location. I'd suggest starting off by going for the Frozen Castle D BG so you
can get the Great Golden Axe for Tin Man, or the Budding Highlands A one for
the Cute Outfit for Dorothy. You might be lucky and get a drop the first time
or it might take a few attempts before you do. Frozen Castle D also gives you
access to a healing fountain and is the best place to level up your team for
these battles.
The BG has two turns on each round, and will start by analysing the situation,
which means he does nothing. He might just hit one person, which is good,
because this attack only does around 70 HP damage or so. His other attacks are:
Pillar of Fire )
Stone Sling ) These all do about the same damage for 150-250 HP depending
Electric Shock ) on your current levels and equipment.
Ice Bomb )
At the 6th round he will run away, so the challenge is to defeat him as fast as
you can! Here's a round by round strategy, but this relies on no-one dying.
Note that the boost to Tin Man lasts for 3 rounds so you only need to boost him
again after three attacks. Gnaw makes a real difference to the amount of damage
you can do, and Overclock allows you to attack Spooky Boo before he runs away
in the final round. You'll soon gain levels fighting the Black Ghost, and the
new equipment from him will help boosts stats by a lot! After the first time,
each battle is easier as you have the better equipment and higher levels.
1. Dorothy uses Power Boost on Tin Man. Tin Man uses Battle Wind.
(Spooky Boo will do nothing)
2. Strawman uses Gnaw. Tin Man uses Battle Wind.
(Spooky Boo will go first and use 2 spells or other attacks: hope that he
doesn't do two spells on one...)
3. Dorothy uses Overclock, or heals. (Or Strawman heals.) Tin Man uses Battle
Wind.
4. Dorothy uses Power Boost. Tin Man uses Battle Wind.
It's essential that you get in this second Power Boost.
5. Dorothy or Strawman heals. (Or Dorothy uses Overclock.) Tin Man uses Battle
Wind.
6. Dorothy uses Melt Down. Tin Man uses Battle Wind.
So long as you have Overclock in place you will go first and so it doesn't
matter if your HP is very low. It's all of nothing!
7. Spooky Boo has disappeared if you've not killed him already!
He might drop something, but it's by no means guaranteed!
(You could use Gnaw, Power Boost on the Tin Man and Lion Dash for the first
round and then switch in Tin Man and use Overclock on the second, but you miss
one round of Battle Wind and that means you won't be able to do enough damage,
at least at while you'll still at lower levels.)

This information is all thanks to spacebee1 who fought and vanquished the Black
Ghost and sent me detailed information about the rewards. Credit to

myself!

===============================================================================
You can ONLY learn these spells and skills when you defeat the Father Dragons
in battle. The first one, Io, is found in Budding Highlands, the second, Gou
Yuko, at Stardust Beach and the third, Ju Kaku is at Autumn Rapids. See the
relevant section for details of exactly how to find them and how to beat them!
Io is in Budding Highland A, reached from a warp on B.
Gou Yuko is in Stardust Beach A. Go through the June Gate at B to find him.
Ju Kaku is in Autumn Rapids C reached through the Citrus Gate from B.
--------------
-- DOROTHY --
-------------
1. Healing Hand : Recovers HP. Single Ally. MP:4
This is incredibly useful since it heals up one person's HP to the maximum, and
Dorothy is quite fast to act so she usually gets a chance to heal before most
enemies attack. Saves on using up items and it's wise to keep as many of those
as possible for the tough boss fights. You can choose who to heal, including
any of the team that are on standby. You can only use this spell during a
battle!
2. Dreamland : Causes sleep. Some enemies. MP:4
Has a chance to put enemies to sleep. I didn't bother with this spell, as it's
usually better to attack rather than waste time with a spell that might not be
effective. You could use it on large groups of the same enemies if you need to.
3. Overclock : Raises speed. Some allies. MP : 6
Very useful in boss battles, this spell increases everyone's speed. It is also
handy when facing groups of enemies that use speed decreasing spells on your
party. Only takes effect on the active party.
4. Cleanse : Cures abnormal status effects. Single ally. MP : 6
Use this as an alternative to using items if needed.
5. Heaven's Door : Revives a fallen unit (party member. One ally. MP : 10
Very useful spell, as it saves on Moonfly Powders, and revives with around 20%
of HP.
6. Mirror Skin : Puts up a magic reflector. One ally. MP : 6
Useful in boss fights, this spell will reflect spell damage back to the caster
once only.
7. Power Boost : Doubles attack power. One ally. MP : 14
Again, really only of use during boss fights, to increase the power of someone
else's (Tin Man or Lion) attack.
8. Meltdown : Uses HP to deal great damage. All enemies. MP : 18
This uses up a lot of MP and cuts Dorothy's HP by half, and might be most
useful if you're trying to level up and are near a healing fountain. (Or
desperate to finish off a boss!)
--------------
-- STRAWMAN --
--------------
1. First Wind : Allows first action in a turn. Single Ally. MP : 2
This ensures the ally you target goes first on the next round. Not that
useful.
2. Plunder : Steals an item. Some enemies. MP : 2
Not a guaranteed steal, but since you need to save gold for buying equipment
and enemies rarely drop any items, this is very useful. Strawman will strike
the targeted enemy inflicting some damage, and that attack never misses even
if the theft of an item is not successful.
3. Gnaw : Decreases defence. Some enemies. MP : 6
Only useful for bosses and maybe for pairs of very powerful foes such as the
Magic Robots, this spell decreases the defence of an enemy or group.
4. Tomato Bomb : Causes confusion. Some enemies. MP : 4
Does what it says on the tin, but not really that worth while unless against
large groups of tough enemies. The effects are varied: they might "space out"
and do nothing, attack an ally in confusion, or attack your party.
5. Fox Hunt : Decreases accuracy. Some Enemies. MP : 4
Can be used against bosses to lower their chances of attacks making contact.
6. Falcon Swoop : Deals instant death randomly. Single Enemy. MP : 4
If it works, the enemy is killed, but there's a chance it won't.
7. Purifying Wind : Nullifies battle advantages. All. MP : 6
Very useful in boss fights, and for some more powerful enemy groups, as this
spell will cancel all boosts, such as increased speed, magic focus or increased
defence. The only drawback is that it also effects your team.
8. Pure Luck : No one know what will happen. N/A. MP : 3
Strawman will randomly use one of his other skills. Not much use really, unless
you're desperate! But there is a special additional attack called Heavenly
Dance, which is a powerful attack on one that only ever worked for me during a
boss battle! There's also Lucky Recovery which heals HP for everyone in the
active team, but this only happened once despite many attempts, so it's not
something to rely on.
Note that I tested this out and (at level 50) out of 33 consecutive turns using
this spell: Heavenly Dance was used 15 times including twice in one battle,
Lucky Recovery 4 times, Nothing Happened 3 times and the rest were Fox Hunt (2)
Falcon Swoop (2), Gnaw (2), Plunder (2), Tomato Bomb (1), Purifying Wind (2) .
So roughly it's Heavenly Dance 50% of the time and rest is pretty random.
----------
-- LION --
----------
1. Great Escape : 100% escape (non-boss). Team. MP : 2
Ensures 100% escape from battle. Not something I ever used, since you need to
fight lots of battles to raise levels, and you can always just select to run
away, which has a good chance of being successful.
2. Warrior Heart : Charges up for the next turn. Self only. MP : 6
Again, not something I used often since it's a waste of a turn when you could
be attacking.
3. Alert : Raises magic evade rate. Some allies. MP : 4
Useful against bosses as this spell will increase your active team's resistance
to spells. Bosses will usually remove the protection quickly, but it's still
worth while.
4. Half-Life : Halves current HP. Some enemies. MP : 6
Seems to have a good chance of working and is a quick way to inflict damage on
large groups of enemies with high HP.
5. Wild Cry : Scares target to a standstill. Some Enemies. MP : 8
6. D-formation : Raises defence. Some allies. MP : 8
Especially useful against enemies that use powerful physical attacks.
7. Lion Dash : Attack with full strength. Single Enemy. MP : 8
Good attack to use against single enemies with high HP as there is no wait
time, and Lion will do a powerful single attack. Unfortunately, it does have a
chance of missing the target altogether.
8. Elements : Creates an elemental barrier. Some allies. MP : 10
This will help protect the active party against elemental magic.
-------------
-- TIN MAN --
-------------
1. Full Swing : Attacks multiple enemies. Some enemies. MP : 4
Very useful against a group of enemies (when there are three or four of the
same kind) even if they are not weak to his strength against plants.
2. Marksman : An attack with 100% hit rate. Single enemy. MP : 2
Extremely useful especially against bosses as this ensures that Tin Man won't
miss. He is slow and has lower accuracy than the others, so this is a good
attack to choose. Not so much use against a boss that uses a silencing attack!
3. Lone Brush Fire : Causes burns on anyone nearby. Self only. MP : 9
Never used this! Well, I tried using it, but without much success: when it's
active, any physical attack on Tin Man will burn the attacker, inflicting some
damage to them. It's not worth the bother for ordinary battles, and given that
bosses mostly use magic, it's not that helpful.
4. Turnip Spirit : Big damage to shell-type enemies. Single enemy MP : 6
5. Body Press : Big damage to ghost-type enemy. Single Enemy. MP : 6
6. Triple Strike : Big damage to plant-type enemy. Single Enemy. MP : 10
All three spells mean that Tin Man can be used to attack any kind of enemy
apart from water types. Marksman is still my favourite skill of his though,
because it's a guaranteed strike.
7. Battle Wind : Attacks 4 times randomly. All Enemies. MP : 14
Very powerful physical attack so that Tin Man will attack four times in one go.
Against a single boss this can do a lot a damage. Essential for fighting the
Black Ghosts!
8. Soul Break : Lower HP = stronger attack. All Enemies. MP : 18
This is handy to use when faced with a group of different enemies, such as a
collection of Cat Hoods. The lower Tin Man's current HP (that is to say, when
he's not at full health) the more powerful is this attack. Also a good one to
use in place of Battle Wind during the Oz boss fights if he's badly damaged and
there are still three enemies facing you.
