with the simple, controls.
------------------------------------|
Ok, you're about to enter the most addictive game I've played in a while,
Dungeon Explorer: Warrior of the Ancient Arts!
But first you need the basics, controls first:
Move: D-Pad
Action/Attack: A Button
Use art: B Button
Menu: Start Button
Use item 1: Y Button
Use item 2: X Button
Change hotkey items: L + Y/ L + X, for arts/forms L + B/ L + A
Change target/target: R Button (You can set the range to target things in the
Options->Adv.settings menu.)
Use forms from schools: Wait until the attack bar(the yellow one in the top
left corner) reaches 100% and you can unleash the form you have equipped
at your A button. You will get information about schools later.
Some about the two item slots, with these you can add items to your
B. Palette(Battle Palette). You can only have 9 items of each and
3 sorts of items on each button that you can switch between with the L button.
Now on to creating your character.
Once you select a new file you'll be thrown into some story telling in the
forest right next to the cosy fire.
A Goblin will speak of the time when the Humans tricked them to tragedy.
Read the story but you can skip it by pressing start.
They start talking about this Breed guy, that will show up later in the game.
Next you will se a picture of the map and the region Sordina of the Humans,
the town is called Confine. And to the east, the Tarug Desert.
The legend speaks of a Demon God, and the story tells much about the desert.
This very desert was the place where arts were born, because of that many
adventurers come to Confine and live there so the village grew to a town.
The town got the name from that Demon God, that Demon was "confined" in that
pyramid... Read the rest for pleasure and some knowledge of the story.
After the story, you will be able to choose class and race.
Classes: Hunter, Warrior and Mage.
Races: Oros, Taratta and Emporos.
Now on to the stats for each class and race combination:

own choice in looks and style.
Choose race and class and you will be able to enter a name, after that
you'll be able to read the prologue story text.

Some information about the B.Palette (Battle Palette).
The B.Palette looks like this on your upper screen:
------ ------ ------ ----

------ ------ ------ --- -- ----
| | |-- |
| Form |Form |A |----
| | |--
------------
[This model shows that you can only switch items from the X Palette to the
X battle button.]
As mentioned earlier, you switch the items from you B.Palette to your battle
by holding L + the button you want to change item on or
by holding L and just moving the cursor to the item. Remember, you can't
switch items that is placed on the X set to the Y set.
You can also apply skill points you get to increase the level of a certain
skill. You get these points by killing monsters and when they drop Art Frags.
When you get art frags you will get a skill point and be able to use
it in the B.Palette menu. When skills get to higher levels they become more
efficient. Damaging more etc.
Remember, you can of course save your skill points for later if you think that
you will get better skills soon but! You can increase all skills to maximum
level because the Art Frags never stops to drop so that's not a problem
later in-game.

Here lets talk about items and the drops you get from monsters.
As you've probably discovered, you get items from monsters when you kill them.
Right, and you can store those items at the bank and wear them if it's
equipment and here comes a little list of the items you CAN get:
Potions
-------
Different kind of potions:
Healing Potion: Heal HP
AP Potion: Heal AP
Cure Tonic: Cure ailments
Elixir: Heal HP & AP
Scrolls
-------
Different kind of scrolls:
Return: Warp to town
Vitality: Boost ATK
Appraise: Appraise item
Tickets: win on lottery when fair is in town.
Genebombs: Destroy generators.
Key: Open locks.
Quest items
Headgear: helmets and stuff to wear on your head.
Body: Armour covering your body.
Shields
Accessories: Rings, amulets that boost stats.
Units: Pieces to equip on your owon for increased stats.
Weapons
-------
Swords, Hammers, Bows, Claws, Axes, Firearms, Sickles, Polearms, Throwing wpn,
Staves, Scepters and Clubs fall into the same categorie: weapons.
Lets see, you can get all that from monsters and of course, money.
You can save alot of money from getting armour and weapons and
of course selling things that you have too many of.
And about the other thing, when you kill a monster there is a chance that
it drops an item. That item is of course, random. And some things are
more common that others.
But you never have to go and pick up stuff, they come to you when you kill
the monsters, so don't worry about that.
-------------------------------------------------
Now, welcome to the region Sordina!

Artrium |Art Schools|
-----------------------------------------------------|
Now your adventure begins, you will be spawned infront of the games most
dangerous dungeon, The Pyramid.
But you can't enter it yet, phew... Ok then, head just a bit northeast and
talk to Conrad he will get straight to it:
Monsters have been entering the lands and he thinks that someone must be
behind this, he will also mention the Demon God.
You get a stipend that contains 2.000 west when he is finished. Now do as he
told you, if you didn't mention it talk to every person in town. Go around
and talk to everyone in town and I'll tell you what they can do to you:
PS. Characters on the map looks like an i with the dot connected to the body.
Michael
-------
Info: This guy is very handy, he can appraise(identify) every grey item
you have so you get to know its abilities.
The price is low too, 50 west. When you are in town I recommend you talk to
him to get something appraised instead of using appraise scrolls.
Those scrolls are quite rare and can be used when you need something appraised
out on the battlefield.
Hjalmar
-------
Info: You can buy owons(like robots that can attack for you and find secret
passages) from this guy.
They cost quite alot so you can wait until the fair and they will be a lot
cheaper.
But a warning: owons do a lot of damage and can help in many ways but they get
destroyed very quickly against bosses that go invisible and then turn up
somewhere else, and if the owon is closer to the guy that appears he will
attack it and if you have a offensive one, they do suffer a lot of damage.
Anyway, Hjalmar doesn't allow you to buy anything from him in a while because
you must show him promise. More info about owons in the Owons section.
(Later versions!)
Martti
------
Info: He's the mayor he talks about the Artrium and Confine. And lastly, he
asks YOU to protect Confine from the Demon God and the monsters!
Easy task huh?
Alvin
-----
Info: Here we have the best blacksmith in town(maybe because he's the only
one?)! You can sell equipment you don't need to him and make some money or
you can buy armors or weapons if your current equips suck...
Anyway, if you are an Oros he will give you a discount on reworking! Great!
Gustav
------
Info: A guard with too much time that calls you fledgling, thinking you're a
greenhorn?! We are heroes!! Soon...
If we come back with some experience he will probably accept us,
I hope... He also mentions the Training Arena, we will be there soon.
Adair
-----
Info: This cute girl sells you all kinda potions.
(Info about B.Palette at that section.)
Lowry
-----
Info: He sells you items, like scrolls, genebombs and keys. You should buy
some keys, sometimes you get really unlucky and can't open a single chest...
Hunters get a skill later that allows them to pick locks, but that's later so
get some.
Lovisa
------
Info: She just gives you bad comments... Poor old lady...
Erinna
------
She runs the tavern. Go here if you want some information,
not because you need it.
Nils
----
Info: A little boy that talks about his future dreams. If you can
understand his riddles he will almost tell you where to go in certain
situations.
Soldierx2
---------
Info: ...
Nora
----
Info: She runs the bank, here you can store money.
And you should do so, when you die you lose 50% of your cash! OMG!
Store money!
Helena
------
Info: Yes, she looks weird? Anyways, she is a mage and she can heal your wounds
(what? I'm invincible!!!) if you come back to town badly wounded.
Quite helpful.
That's probably every single one of them, great!
(You must talk to the two soldiers!!)
Go talk to Conrad again, whoops I forgot! Conrad!!
Conrad
------
Info: Tells you where to go and when you complete his tasks you often
get money! Yey, money!! Talk to him when you don't know what to do.
Talk to Conrad and he sends you to the Artrium in the Lost Forest.
He then starts talking about arts and form and schools. If you don't
bother reading it, I will tell you later when we get there.
And your character will tell you that the map now shows the Lost Forest!
Wohoo! Then lets head out from town, you can see the exit by a yellow ring
with a dot in it on your map.
If you never played this before then you should read the next part, if you
already know the basics, skip it.

Now you see the you travel map, you'll see the Lost Forest appear but if you
want to go to the Training Arena go the left on your map.
When you have one place selected it will glow, not with just a line, the whole
zone will glow. Remember that.
Enter the Training Arena
by pressing A. Follow the little road and then go north, you'll see a soldier,
talk to him. And when he asks you which door to open take door 1.
Repeat this with all the doors so you don't have to run back four times :P
With that done, listen to what he tells you about each door, go through the
closest one. You will see some slimes, these die with just one hit.
Monsters are marked with blue dots on your map.
Kill everyone of them and backtrack so you can enter the second door.
Here destroy the red boulders so you can talk to the soldier and then exit the
room.
Third door, the soldier here talks about the B.Palette and the X and Y buttons,
you should listen to him to learn almost the most important and interesting
part of the game. Then, push the blue boulders by running against them and
pressing the A button. Then grab the chest for a potion.
Please don't ask me to help you with this one xD
Exit the room and go through the last door!
Here, listen to what the soldier has to say and then open the chest it gives
you a Genebomb. You can use those to destroy generators in one hit.
(Generators pop out weak monsters almost every two seconds, but it's not hard
to destroy them without the Bomb.)
You can choose if you want to use the Genebomb or not, if not,
just hit it until it disappears.
With that done, go talk to the soldier again and he congratulates you for
completing it and that you can come back anytime to get a review.
About the other guard in this area, you can't get through his door until
you've got arts so ignore him.

Then back to story and the Prologue chapter, exit the Training Arena and get
to the Lost Forest.
The Artrium lies in the northeast so lets head there!
You should kill all the monsters and destroy the generators, you get XP from
the monsters and in some cases, destroying the generators unseals doors.
Just do it!
When you're done killing, head through the northeast passage.
Make sure you watch out for the blue flames, the anti-farming generator monster!
If you stand long enough waiting in a room/area with generators the blue flames
will pop out.
These are highly risk ones and kills you instantly if they touch you!
They also have a lot of resistance and HP, watch out!
Then next area, you will face a lot of zombies, they will rise from the ground
when you are close enough but they are not hard at all.
And make sure you grab the chest here with a potion.
Maybe you'll get to level two here, congratulations! Then some about
setting the stats.

Open your menu and choose status. Here you will se everything about your
character, HP and all those stats and info about your race and class.
The last thing will I explain now, your status points.
You get status points when you level up, you get three of them.
Now, press the A button and you'll notice that you can change your
status points,
put those you earned at the different stats to get more of the main stats.
Here is a quick walkthrough for those who is too lazy to read in game (lol?)
VIT(Vitality)
------------
Hp+
Def+
ARTS
----
AP+
STR(Strength)
-------------
ATK+
Max Item #+
Max Equip #+
DEX(Dexterity)
--------------
ATK+
EVA(sion)+
Max Equip #+
About STR and DEX, at later levels you should get those to 63 to wear all
the best armours.
Remember, you can't remove points when you have them set!
As you see, as a Mage add points to ARTS, as Warrior add points to VIT and
STR and as Hunter add to DEX and STR.
So, Hunters doesn't have to spend extra points to wear the best equipment.
Not too complicated right? Then lets continue.
-----------------------------------------------> Sub-part end.
Continue to the northeast corner and destroy the generator,
then into the mountain!

Talk to the soldier right in front of you, he talks about secret passageways
and switches and the Symbol Hall! Aaahh!
The reason we came here was that Symbol Hall, so first head northeast,
kill the two zombies and then talk to the monument for some history.
Exit the room and kill the two zombies in the next room and step on
the switch. Now look on your map, the developers have made
it very simple for us too see the secret rooms in this place, see
where a little things poke out from the room? Right between
those two pillars enter the room between those.
I'll leave these challenges to you, if you desperately can't solve it,
mail me.
Grab the chest and notice that one key disappears from your B.Palette,
this is why we bought keys!
Exit the secret room and enter the door we opened with the switch.
We took the door to the Great Hall!
Here kill all the monsters and destroy the generators and equip
the new equipment you receive, if you can.
Talk to the monument in the middle of the room and get some knowledge about
the forms.
It tells you that there are eight forms: Lion, Scarab, Snake and Moon are
light and that Axes, Meteor, Skull and Bird are dark.
Pretty cool. Now see the thing that looks like two red arrows pointing away
from each other? That's an elevator or teleportation point,
in this case it's an elevator.
Step on it and it will take you down to the basement.
Kill the two Goblins, bastards that run, and talk to the monument.
"Select a school and you shall receive its forms.
Use the forms and so shall arts be born." So that's it, use the forms
to get the arts. Enter the south-eastern door and kill the monsters for some
experience. Exit this room and enter the north-eastern door.
Kill the zombies and enter the door the the southeast.
The Bones will wait for you at the entrance so watch out!
Step on the switch in here and your character tells you that there seems
to be another switch somewhere.
It's not in this room but have you checked your map?
A secret room! This is kinda tricky but you'll get it.
A hint: you only have to care about the blocks nearest to you.
Don't push the others in the other half of the room! Solve this and receive
a Wand, exit.
Now one room left to check on the east wing.
Enter it and watch out for the Bones! Check your map! A secret room!!
Alot of those in this building :P Enter and solve this puzzle for
a helmet! You'll probably be able to wear this one, and it's unique and
quite good for our level. Exit and backtrack to the main room,
Underground Central Hall. Now enter the south-western door and kill the
monsters there and go through the door to the southeast.
Kill the Bones and grab the chest. Head back out and through the other door,
kill everything and step on the switch. This was the other one!
We can now enter the symbol hall! :D Enter and step into the blue light and
someone/something will begin to speak to you. You will
now get a random school, hope it's a good one! I got Scarab yeey!
Then, enter the other blue light and it will ask you if you want to
teleport through the two-way portal, select yes if you've done everything,
if you want you can go back in and kill like 10 monsters more
for experience. We missed those before so instead of going northwest at
the start go to the southeast.
---------------------------------------------------------------> Sub-part end.
##### HINT!!! #################################
## Now when you've got a school I ##
## suggest that you make sure you use ##
## the forms almost all the time. ##
## That way, you'll get arts a lot quicker ##
## making your gaming experience a lot ##
## funnier ^^ ##
###############################################
Now get back to town and you'll get a reward from Conrad, another quest! :D
Then lets head out!
Now the prologue ends and the real adventure begins! Prepare yourselves!!

----------------------------------------------------|
Read the story for Chapter 1, and then enter Devil's Plain.
Here, kill everything and head north. There will be two doors here,
go through the one to the southwest and walk around and maybe you'll
spot like a statue? It's an angel, if you hit it with an attack you'll get
an Art Frag.
Exit and go down the other stairs, welcome to one part of the Goblin
hideout: the Game Hall.
!Make sure you watch out for the rolling rocks here!
First, head southwest, kill the Sword Goblin in the next little area
continue northwest through the other passage. Kill the Goblin
and destroy the generator. Then look at your map, see the quite long
passage going to the northwest that ends? In the wall there you'll find
a secret room. Destroy the rocks inside and open the chest for a Buckler.
Exit and take the road to the northeast, here watch out for the rock and
destroy the generator, enter the door.
Next part of the Game Hall. Run past the rocks and head for the next big area.
Here, kill all the Goblins and destroy the generator, you should not
touch the rocks, they begin to roll if you do so, avoid them.
Go through the passage to the southwest and destroy the generator and
kill some monsters for experience. As you'll see, it's a passage out from
the Game Hall on here so you can use it if you need to go back to town.
Go back to the room with the two big rocks and go through the other
passage all the way. Here, you'll find a secret room.
When inside, kill the Axe Goblin and destroy one of the rocks and get the
chest for a Amulet! Woo more accessories :D
Exit and go up to the northwest and grab the two chest for an Vitality
scroll and a Genebomb! When going back outside you can find another secret
room. Backtrack to the field and find the third exit. Did i mention
that Sword Goblins can defend? Well, they can. When they turn all yellow
you can't do any damage to them. Kill everything here and in the north
you will find some stairs down to (the stairs is in a tree) the Goblin
Lair!

Here we are, we found the Goblin Lair! Let's find the boss and kill him,
shall we?
Follow the way down and Ticks(spiderlike creatures) will fall down from the
ceiling, they die from one blow so it'll not be a problem.
Over the bridge and enter the door. Then kill the Goblins that waits
for you at the other end of the bridge and follow the way to another platform
where a HUGE Slime awaits you. If you go a school with the Addition, added
attack form this is really easy, as it hits the monsters many many times and
this slime will be gone in seconds. But this slime is like this, it divides
into smaller slimes everytime you hit it until they can't do that and they
die. Kill the Goblin here and continue, here we have another Big Slime
and just kill it and the small slime and the Goblins. Over the next bridge
and kill the slime on that little platform and then the Goblin at the larger.
Then over the next bridge and exit this room.
We're getting closer now! Here, kill the two Sword Goblins and the Axe Goblin.
Take the bridge to the southeast if you are ranged but if you are a Warrior,
take the other bridge to kill the monsters there and then take the other one.
Follow the road and kill all the monsters and if you noticed that this room
has one chest, you was right. But we can't get it now, and I killed another
statue on the last platform in here actually, see if you can find it. This
one was golden, but you still only get a Art Frag from it. Now, exit.
Kill the Goblins here and the Ticks that fall down and make sure you go
up the stairs that are pretty close to the stairs we came down from.
A little surprise! :D
Then, We're in the Great Cavern!
Destroy the generators and kill the Goblins, make sure you kill and destroy
everything in here, that will cause the only door in here to unseal.
------BOSS WARNING!!!!-------
This is the Great Goblin, he's quite confident in himself. He says
that he'll kill us? Right...
First, he'll send three Goblins forward for you to kill, destroy them
and prepare for attacks from the big guy.
He can shoot three balls of lightning in three different directions,
these are quite easy to avoid since he turns around quite slow.
He can also guard, as the Sword Goblins, just wait it out and then start
attacking again. He shouldn't be too hard for you to kill and use Health
Potions if you have to. And make sure you use your forms! They do alot of
damage and will help you alot! When you finish him he shouts:
"Maguuu...
L-L-Long l-live...
the Goblins!!!"
They won't survive for long if you keep on doing this ;P
He will explode and you'll get the Elf Tome! You'll now be able to read
all those monuments that are in Elvish!
A new passage will open, go through it and notice where we are!
The Back Door! Haha, great. Use the teleport if you want to go back to town.
When you're back in town, talk to Conrad. He will tell you that a strange
mist has formed in the Lost Forest! He tells you to go and meet the Elves,
the townsfolk has got some quests for you too.
After that one-sided conversation you'll get a reward of 2.000 west
for destroying the Goblins!
Now, go talk to Micheal. It was his Tome we retrieved, so he might want
it back. But he'll give it to you along with a quest:
He wants us to go get the Sacred Rock from Fissure Ravine in the Lost
Forest. Sounds easy enough.
Then talk to Hjalmar, he'll give you a quest too:
He talks about owons and their "Activator" part. The owon lost its activator!
He wants you to find one of these and give it to him, they are very rare
so there will be hard to find one. If we do that, he will give us an owon!
We now get to know the location for one: Junk Cave...
Anyway, lets check our quest log:
Lost Forest:
------------
Go to the Fissure Ravine and get the Sacred Rock.
Lost Forest:
------------
Go to the Junk Cave and get an Activator!
Yes, lets do this then. Sell and buy things you need and put money in the
bank just in case you die.
