1. How to play Speed Devils
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every dollar earned at the end of a race will earn you a Driver Point. Once you
have earned enough, you can proceed to the next class. As you climb up the
classes, you can use your money to buy new cars and add ons for your existing
car. To complete the game, you must defeat Driver X, the Class A champion.
Money is awarded for many reasons. Winning a race, busting the radar, staying
in the lead for the longest amount of time, and getting the fastest lap will
earn you money.
A is the handbrake/powerslide button.
L/R control Braking and Accelerating. Make use of their Analog sensitivity!
Occasionally in the game, a speed meter will pop up from the right of the screen.
The grey number indicates the target speed. Get to that speed and stay above it
before it disappears, and you will get some bonus money.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Starting your game
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Insert the game disc into your Dreamcast and close the lid. Turn the
Dreamcast on, and press START to skip the intro. Select 'Championship' from the
menu, and enter your name. But, before you do this, insert a VM into socket 1
of controller A with some free blocks, otherwise the game will freeze.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Your garage
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is were you control almost everything.
From left to right, the symbols at the bottom of the screen mean as follows:
Challenges-If it flashes, click to accept or decline after description
Repairs-Repair your car
VM(U)-Save and load
Turbo/Nitro/Boost-Adjust the amount of turbo, etc
Race-Race!
Trophies-Lets you view your trophies and awards
Add ons-Lets you add things onto your car, later on in the game
Race Schedule-Has the race schedule
Car Dealer-Buy and sell cars

4. Guide
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-This guide is based on the steps I took in the game.-
------Class D------
Upon starting the game you are greeted by a trashed blue car, the 'Bel Ray'.
This is the worst car available, but it will do fine-for now.
Select 'Race' to see an introduction to the D class. This will describe your
opponents. Onwards, to Hollywood!
------Hollywood------
This is an easy one. Build up some speed so that you don't waste time on the
first hill. Push the analog thumb pad gently to take the next 2 corners-but for
the 3rd, bring the pad to a sharp right and hold the Y button. If you mess up
here, you'll lose your position.
Look out for the sharp corners behind the T Rex, and make sure you drive onto
the bridge in the building behind King Kong. The rest of the track is isn't too
hard.
When back in your garage, save if you wish, then go to 'race' again.
-Aspen Summer-
Bit harder this time. Stay in the MIDDLE of the track as you go past the
Mountains, because rocks fall down-hit these and you are done for.
A little while on, the road curves up and blocks the horizon. STEER LEFT AS YOU
CLEAR THE HILL, if you don't, you will fly into a lake. In the winter this
freezes over...
Back to the garage... this time, fully repair your car, and save, too.
Hit race.
------Mexico------
Ooh...harder again, but not much :p, just watch yourself.
As you approach the bridge, BUILD UP SPEED. It is quicker to go over the bridge
than to go around it, but if you don't hit it fast enough, you won't make it
across the gap.
Basically, just take the sharp bends slowly, and try not to shove into the
crowd of cars at the start.
Once this race is done, you will be offered to go to the next class, if you
have enough driver points. If not, you will go back to the garage, and the
dollar symbol should be flashing. Select this. Jack will appear, asking if you
can bust the 1st radar. You can accept or decline. I accepted..
Select 'Race' again.
I won the bet :)
Upon doing that, Jack challenged me again. You must stay ahead of him on lap 1.
Don't accept this. This bet is hard, and I mean hard. 5 seconds into the race
he claims he beat me, when we didn't even get off the starting grid.
So I lost 10,000 dollars there, don't you do the same.
------Class C------
It's time to sell your car, and buy a new one. You don't have to do this!
Highlight the car cars, then press A. Select 'Sell'. Press A, then select
'Yes'. Go to the car keys again, and press 'buy'. I bought the Atlantis, the
best car I could afford. Choose your transmission, the paint, then exit and
save.
Race.
------Aspen Winter------
Exactly the same as Aspen summer, but this time, go over the ice where the
lake was, and through the cave right afterwards.
Hit race.
------Hollywood------
This is the same as in Class D but you go through it backwards.
-IMPORTANT-
Because of my selling my Dreamcast, and my lack of interest in gaming, this FAQ will
not be updated any further, other than for spelling corrections and e-mail changes.
