1. Welcome!
================================================
This is Sonic Adventure: Sonic's Quest! Sonic Adventure is the best
game I've played in a long time, and really shows off Dreamcast and
shows up PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and PC. This game is so fast that it
might take you a while to get used to Sonic's speed. If you thought
Sonic R was fast, man, are you in for a surprise. This game really
brings back the classic 2D Sonic gameplay straight into 3D. Sonic Team
did a really beautiful job on this game.
This FAQ is here to help guide you in playing through Sonic's quest in
Sonic Adventure. It covers what to do in and after every level, where
to find all the Upgrade Items, how to defeat all the Bosses and more!

2. About the Author
================================================
Yo! I'm Nathan Tsui, also known as Segaholic2! I have been playing
videogames since the old Mario Brothers and Sonic the Hedgehog, and
have finally reached the honor of getting to play the ultimate Sonic
Adventure! Sonic the Hedgehog is my favorite videogame character, and
seeing him again brings back lots of memories...
I first played the Sonic Adventure "Limited Edition" from the Hollywood
Video rental exclusive, not the Japanese import version. The "Limited
Edition" means that the game is basically the Japanese Sonic Adventure
with the voice-acting and text in English, although a few bugs were
fixed. However, the "International Version" is the full game with all
bugs fixed and extra options thrown in. This is one AWESOME game!
If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, please feel free
to send them to Nathan Tsui at
[email protected]. Also e-mail me if
you find any errors and I will fix them up in the next version, plus
you will get your name in the Credits! E-mail me if you have any info I
don't have here and I will give you full credit!

3. Storyline
================================================
Sonic Adventure takes place in a busy city called Station Square, a
beautiful natural habitat called Mystic Ruin, and Robotnik's giant
flying fortress: the Egg Carrier. The evil Dr. Robotnik has come up
with yet another plan to take over the world and to get rid of that
confounded blue hedgehog who is responsible for thwarting every single
one of his previous plans. Robotnik, who is also called "Eggman", has
unearthed the deadly primal force known as "Chaos". This monster, being
composed entirely of water and the power of the Chaos Emeralds, has the
ability to take on any form it wishes, and the potential to grow in
power every time it finds and absorbs the Chaos power in an Emerald. It
is also responsible for the destruction of an entire civilization gen-
erations ago...
If the power of all 7 Chaos Emeralds is assimilated into Chaos, Chaos
will become Perfect Chaos, the totally evil side of the Chaos Emeralds'
power that even Sonic is helpless against. The only being that can stop
this monster once it attains such power is Sonic the Hedgehog with the
good power of the 7 Chaos Emeralds: Super Sonic.
Are you ready for Sonic's greatest Adventure yet? "Let's get 'em!"
================================================
4. Moves
================================================
Sonic has quite a bit of attacks and special moves. Some are available
to perform at the beginning of the game, others cannot be performed un-
til you obtain the special Upgrade Items strewn through-out the
Adventure Fields (see Chapter 5). Anyways, you should be very familiar
with both the basic and advanced moves and attacks as it is mandatory
for long-term success in such areas as enemy combat and beating time
records for some of those elusive A Emblems.
------------------------------
a. Run
------------------------------
Press the Joystick in the direction you wish to run. Sonic moves very
fast, so it may take you a while to get used to his speed. The longer
you hold down on the Joystick, the faster Sonic will move. The control
is very responsive and it is very fun and satisfying just to watch
Sonic's fluid movements.
------------------------------
b. Jump
------------------------------
Sonic's basic move. The longer you hold down the (A) button, the higher
you jump. Sonic has an incredible hang-time, so utilize this for some
of the longer jumps. By pressing (A) twice, you will perform the
"Homing Attack", which will home you in on the nearest enemy or object.
You have to guide Sonic in the correct direction with the joystick to
be completely successful. By repeatedly pressing (A), you can attack
many enemies in succession. If no attackable objects are within homing
range, you will perform a "double-jump", which will throw you twice the
distance of a normal jump. Become very accustomed with the "Homing
Attack", as it is the most frequently used move in the game.
------------------------------
c. Spin-Dash (Turbo)
------------------------------
Press (X) or (B) to roll up into a ball and blast forward. This is
great as an optional attack or as a way to get you around faster. By
repeatedly pressing the button, you can cut down precious seconds when
shooting for those A Emblems.
------------------------------
d. Grab and Throw
------------------------------
Press (Y) when near certain objects to pick them up and carry them
around. To throw the object, run and press (Y).
TRICK: For easier and longer throws, jump (press (A)) and then press
(Y).
------------------------------
e. Light-Speed Dash
------------------------------
When you receive the Light-Speed Shoes (see Chapter 5a), you will be
able to perform the Light-Speed Dash. This move allows you to follow a
trail of rings indefinitely, even if the trail goes up into the air.
Hold down the (X) or (B) button until Sonic stands up and says
"Ready..." Walk into position and release the button to dash as Sonic
yells "Go!" Even without rings, you will perform a speedy, though short
dash in the direction you are pointed. When you get the Crystal Ring
(see Chapter 5b), your time to charge up the Light-Speed Dash will be
cut from 4 seconds down to 2 seconds. And when you get the Ancient
Light (see Chapter 5c) the Light-Speed Dash will become the Light-Speed
Attack, which will allow you to quickly take out a number of enemies at
the same time.
================================================
5. Upgrade Items
================================================
This is a list of the Permanent and Temporary Upgrade Items you can get
in the game. All of Sonic's Upgrades except for maybe the Crystal Ring
are essential for beating the game. All Temporary Upgrades can be found
in the Action Stages only.
------------------------------
a. Light-Speed Shoes
------------------------------
You get this upgrade after beating Windy Valley. Go to the second part
of Station Square. The manhole that was previously covered by the po-
lice car is now open. Drop down and work your way around to find the
Light-Speed Shoes. Your first opportunity to use these is immediately
after obtaining them to get out of the sewer. The Shoes let you perform
the Light-Speed Dash.
------------------------------
b. Crystal Ring
------------------------------
This is obtainable right after you have received the Light-Speed Shoes.
Go to the Station Square Hotel and take the stairs up. Charge up the
Light-Speed Dash and step on both buttons. Ride the rings quickly be-
fore the door closes. This will cut the time required to charge up the
Light-Speed Dash in half.
------------------------------
c. Ancient Light
------------------------------
You receive this after completing Speed Highway. Go to Mystic Ruins
and enter the Ice Cave. Head all the way down the tunnel and head out
the new opening. On a rock near the island is the Ancient Light. This
gives you the Light-Speed Attack and is required to enter the Red Moun-
tain Action Stage.
------------------------------
d. Temporary Upgrades
------------------------------
These are found almost exclusively in the Action Stages and are kept in
cylinders which resemble red gumball machines. Attack them to open them
up and obtain the item within. If you have enough speed you can just
run through them to open them.
Ring Cylinders: Will give you either a set or random amount of Rings.
Set amounts are either 5 or 10 Rings. Random rings will give you 1, 5,
10, 15, 20, or 40 Rings.
High-Speed Shoes: Will make Sonic run faster for approximately fifteen
seconds.
Smart Bomb: Will destroy all enemies within a certain proximity.
Protection Shield: Will create a green orb around Sonic which will pro-
tect Sonic for one hit.
Magnetic Shield: Will create a silver orb around Sonic which will pro-
tect Sonic for one hit. On top of this, the Magnetic Shield will cause
all rings near Sonic to magnetically gravitate towards him!
Invincibility Shield: Will cause Sonic to become invulnerable to all
enemy attacks for approximately fifteen seconds.
Extra Life/1-Up: Gives Sonic an extra life, a.k.a. a 1-Up. Get seven of
these to get a free 7-Up soft drink! Just kidding...
================================================
6. Walkthrough
================================================
You start the game with the fight with Chaos 0 (see Chapter 9a) in
Station Square. After winning the boss fight and after a couple of
movies, you appear in Station Square's Hotel. Jump across the pool and
walk around the building to enter Action Stage 1: Emerald Coast (see
Chapter 7a).
After completing Emerald Coast, head to Mystic Ruins using the Train
Station in Station Square. Head to Tails' Factory to engage in a fight
with Egg Hornet (see Chapter 9b). Upon defeating Egg Hornet, head up to
Tails' Factory and take the Wind Key which is sitting in front of the
door. Go to the cave near the Mystic Ruin's Lake and put down the Key
near the vortex. The wind will blow harder. Walk in to enter Action
Stage 2: Windy Valley (see Chapter 7b).
After beating Windy Valley, take the train back to Station Square. Head
to the second part of the city where the Chaos 0 fight took place. The
manhole that was previously covered by a police car will now be un-
covered. Drop down and walk around to find the Light-Speed Shoes. Use
the Light-Speed Dash to exit the sewers. Now go to the Hotel and get
the Crystal Ring (see Chapter 5b). Now go to the Casino area via the
Hotel or Train Station. The door is locked, so charge up the Light-
Speed Dash. Push the button and run up the trail of rings to unlock the
door and enter Action Stage 3: Casinopolis (see Chapter 7c).
When you leave Casinopolis, a Key will fall in the alley. After a
couple of movies, grab the Ice Key and take the train to Mystic Ruin.
A new tunnel will open. Head through it and place the Ice Key on the
pedestal to open the ice cave. Jump across the pool and climb the lad-
der to enter Action Stage 4: IceCap (see Chapter 7d).
Leave the cave and head to the Mystic Ruin Lake. You will encounter
Knuckles and have a brief fight with him (see Chapter 9c). Afterwards
Eggman and Chaos will appear and take the Emeralds. Now you have to
fight Chaos 4 (see Chapter 9d). After the fight head back to Tails'
Factory to enter Sub-Game Sky Chase Act 1 (see Chapter 8a).
After getting shot down, head to the Casino area for a movie. Now head
back to the first section of Station Square and head to the Twinkle
Park entrance for another movie. Enter Action Stage 5: Twinkle Park
(see Chapter 7e).
After beating Twinkle Park, you will be in a small room. You can enter
the Sub-Game Twinkle Circuit from here (see Chapter 8b) or leave
through the other door. A Keycard will appear in Station Square. Pick
it up and take it to the garage door. It will open. Take either
elevator up to enter Action Stage 6: Speed Highway (see Chapter 7f).
Finding yourself in the second section of Station Square, head to the
Casino Area. After a movie, take the train to Mystic Ruin. After an-
other movie, head through the area to the Ice Cave, but instead of
entering it, run past it. Head all the way through the tunnel to find
a new area. Run forward and find the Ancient Light Upgrade (see Chapter
5c). Use the new Light-Speed Attack on the monkey to open up Action
Stage 7: Red Mountain (see Chapter 7g).
After beating Red Mountain, watch a movie, then play Sub-Game Sky Chase
Act 2 (see Chapter 8a). You will have to fight the Egg Carrier's Main
Gun (see Chapter 9e). After this, you will land on the Egg Carrier.
Walk around and the Egg Carrier will transform. You can now enter
Action Stage 8: Sky Deck (see Chapter 7h).
After beating Sky Deck, you will be inside the Egg Carrier. Take the
yellow pod up to see a movie. You now have to fight E-102 'y' (see
Chapter 9f). After another movie, take the door on the left. Press the
button and Light-Speed Dash using the trail of rings to enter the Egg
Carrier's control room. Stand on the big chair and it will move for-
ward. Press the button behind it to return the Egg Carrier to its nor-
mal state. Now go through the door and to the center of the deck. You
will encounter and have to fight Chaos 6 (see Chapter 9g). After anoth-
er movie you will be in front of a temple. Go in to enter Action Stage
9: Lost World (see Chapter 7i).
After beating Lost World Sonic will have a vision. Head towards the
shrine to see another movie. Now you will wake up and see Eggman. Run
through the Rain Forest and find the Egg Carrier's Docking Station.
Jump on the buttons in this sequence: middle left, lower left, lower
right, middle right. They will all light up and you can now enter the
final Action Stage 10: Final Egg (see Chapter 7j).
Upon beating Final Egg, Sonic will have his final show-down with Eggman
in his Egg Viper. Please see Chapter 9h for details on beating Sonic's
final boss.
When you beat Egg Viper (it may take you a few tries, but since you
have unlimited Continues just stick to it and eventually you'll do it!)
you will be treated to a really cool ending and credits sequence.
Notice how Sonic jumps at the screen at the end. This is a tradition
that has been followed since the original Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega
Genesis. If you watch through the entire credits sequence, you will get
to see a cool picture of Sonic finally getting his vacation, and then
you will be awarded another Emblem just for your patience! Aren't you
glad you watched the credits now?
================================================
7. Action Stages
================================================
This section does not go into detail on how to beat every single level.
It will tell you the A Emblem time requirements and the biggest and
best short-cuts to take in each stage. Since most of the Action Stages
are pretty straight-forward, I doubt you will have too much trouble
beating them.
All the C Emblems require that you just beat the level the first time.
All the B Emblems require that you beat the level with 50 rings.
Just saying it now so I don't have to repeat myself 10 times. ;)
------------------------------
a. Emerald Coast
------------------------------
A Emblem time: 2 minutes
For the A Emblem, run along the side of the wall right after entering
the second section. You have to make it into the tunnel up in the wall
to take a crucial short-cut. Another important short-cut is when you
reach the whole-pipe where you loop three times, run around and jump
over the water to the left of it. Right after that, hit the speed up
and immediately Spin-Dash up the ramp. Hold hard right to skip a big
chunk of the level. Run up to the spring and continue as usual.
------------------------------
b. Windy Valley
------------------------------
A Emblem time: 3 minutes
Use your homing attack near the beginning on the little fan things. In
the Tornado, hold down right after hitting the first spring to get to
the Number Pads quicker. Also, when you are dropping into the third
section of the level, adjust the camera quickly and drop past the first
walkway onto the one below. This one's pretty easy.
------------------------------
c. Casinopolis
------------------------------
A Emblem time: 5 minutes
Lose a pinball game to fall into the sewers. Take the straight, then
left path to collect more than 250 rings. Near the end of the garbage
section, use the Light-Speed Dash to get more rings, a shield, and
invincibility. Repeat quickly after dumping. If you get hit in the
sewers, you have to quit the level since the cylinders do not re-
produce.
------------------------------
d. IceCap
------------------------------
A Emblem time: 4 minutes
In the big snowy field, immediately go left or down after the camera
change, and Light-Speed Dash on the hill to reach the Number Pads. Warp
quickly to skip the entire first section. Just as you hit the first
point marker, jump off and stay near the wall to skip a little bit of
the level (don't fall all the way to the ground). In the snowboarding
section, take as many ramps as you can to push yourself forward. Make
sure to stay in the center near the end to catch the really good ramps.
------------------------------
e. Twinkle Park
------------------------------
A Emblem time: 3 minutes
At the beginning, get into a cart immediately and get out of there. At
the end of the roller-coaster ride, hold Down-Left on the joystick to
avoid falling down the hole. Now backtrack up the roller-coaster track
slowly until you fall down. You should land on a platform. Jump very
far and across towards the courtyard and double-jump to "pop" farther.
Go right to hit the triple-spring. After the last point marker, use the
spring, then jump to the highest platform. Now jump across to the
building on the left. Jump out and around the little fence towards the
left, and then Spin-Dash up the slope. The goal is on the left.
------------------------------
f. Speed Highway
------------------------------
A Emblem time: 2 minutes, 30 seconds
After the first point marker run along the side of the building to take
the "high way" ( >;p ). This is really the only major short-cut in this
stage. In the last section, go up the street and turn left when you hit
the main road. Spin-Dash like crazy on the far (right) side of the road
until you hit a spring. Go through the buildings and hit the dash panel
to send yourself flying up the street. Run up to the fountain Spin-
Dashing all the way.
------------------------------
g. Red Mountain
------------------------------
A Emblem time: 3 minutes
Take the first rocket and hold right to hit a spring short-cut. After
the second rocket ride, hold up to land next to a spring. Up on the
ledge, immediately run across the bridge. Spin-Dash up the slope to the
right and hit the spring beyond the goodies. After the first tram
ride, cross the bridge that falls apart and cross the short trail of
Bladed Spinners to the Extra Life. Go right and take the number pads.
Right after you get past the tilting platforms, look right and use the
Light-Speed Dash on the trail of rings. Take the rocket immediately to
short-cut to the last tram ride. In the lava section, use the Light-
Speed Dash before the place with the spike-balls and big boxes to
short-cut to the second-last point marker (just take it slowly your
first time through and you should be able to find it).
------------------------------
h. Sky Deck
------------------------------
A Emblem time: 5 minutes
At the second point marker don't take the dash panel. Turn right and
cross the Bladed Spinners to a platform. Take the turning crane and
drop onto the next platform, where there is a rocket. After that, jump
to the left to get an Invincibility, which lets you climb the ladder
without bothering with the spike balls. In the vertical section,
Spin-Dash quickly up before the ship tilts to hit the save marker and
spring.
------------------------------
i. Lost World
------------------------------
A Emblem time: 4 minutes, 30 seconds
In the snake room, first go all the way around the platform without
raising the water level. Climb up and hit the first door switch there.
Then jump up and hit the water switch. After the last water switch,
roll backwards down the snake to reach the last door switch quickly.
As you arrive in the mirror room you need to jump over the mirrors.
Guess-jump your way through it. After the first right turn, head
straight for a long jump that will short-cut you across to a path that
will skip the turning blocks. At the end you need to Light-Speed Dash.
In the room with the switches and the blue panels on the wall, jump on
either button twice to line up and light up the wall panels on the
right. Run straight up them and onto the lip of the ledge. Walk along
to the left and jump up into the opening in the wall. Wait for the
camera to adjust and Light-Speed Dash after hitting the button that
produces a trail of rings.
------------------------------
j. Final Egg
------------------------------
A Emblem time: 4 minutes, 30 seconds
You should have anything under 30 seconds at the second point marker.
You have to use the dash panels in the big rotating rooms to make it
out. If you climb the walls too much, jump off and "pop" to get
farther. Immediately in the second section, jump off the first place as
far as you can go and target the Bladed Spinner to shave off a couple
more seconds. The swinging hammers after the third point marker are
tough. Jump under or over, just don't wait too long. You should make
the fourth point marker with around 2:30 on your clock. Immediately
after the fourth point marker jump off and to the right so that Sonic
is spinning into the circular wall. When you get low enough press (A)
again to pop safely and quickly onto the circular walkway. Run into the
elevator. Next is what I call the "1-Up Room" due to its two 1-Ups, a
Magnetic Shield and four Random Ring Cylinders. Dash through the center
to grab the 1-Up and Shield, and have someone use Tails to hit the
spring in the upper-right-hand corner to nab another life. In the first
Beat room do not roll. Just jump long and far; do NOT Home-Attack. Get
to the ladder quick and climb up. Next is the fifth point marker. Use
the fans quickly and keep on moving. After five sets of fans is the
second Beat room. Jump again to hit the dash panel on the far side of
the room. After the sixth point marker is the big drop. Stay a little
off-center towards the right side of the wall. You'll land on a plat-
form. Quickly use the fans to enter the third Beat room. Jump towards
the right. Spin-Dash through the big room to get to the seventh point
marker. Follow the turn and Spin-Dash past the Egg Keeper. Keep Spin-
Dashing and take a left-right turn to get to the eighth and final point
marker. You need around 10 seconds left to get the A now. Charge up
your Light-Speed Dash in the tunnel before the final room, then run
into the room and jump far and over the Egg Keepers. Do NOT Home-Attack
or you will lose time and end your hopes of getting the Emblem. Jump as
far as you can towards the ring line, still holding your Light-Speed
Dash charged. Let go of (X) in mid-air to Light-Speed Dash. If you fail
you can always select "Restart" from the pause menu and try again from
the last point marker.
================================================
8. Sub-Games
================================================
The Sub-Games are one of the things that give Sonic Adventure such high
replay-value. I find myself coming back to these games repeatedly, try-
ing to beat my old high-scores. Listed here are short descriptions for
all and how many Sonic Emblems you can earn from each.
------------------------------
a. Sky Chase Acts I & II
------------------------------
Press (A), (X), or (B) to shoot down the aircraft coming at you. Hold
down any of the buttons and pass the cross-hairs over enemies to target
them. Release the button the fire homing missiles at them. Make sure
you shoot down as many of the enemies as you can. The first Sonic
Emblem is for completing the Sub-Game, the second for beating a set
high score.
Sky Chase Act I = 8000 points
Sky Chase Act II = 20000 points
(4 Emblems total)
------------------------------
b. Twinkle Circuit
------------------------------
Press (A) to accelerate and (B) to brake. You can also use the (L) and
(R) Triggers to make harder turns. Just a timed race through a futur-
istic amusement roller-coaster ride. Go as slow as you can your first
time through to get the first Emblem. Now beat your easy-to-beat "high"
score to get the second Emblem! Hehehe...
(2 Emblems total)
TRICK: Press (A) right after the screen says "GO!" to blast forward.
------------------------------
c. Sand Hill
------------------------------
Go through as many gates as possible. Every time you pass through a
gate, you get "x1". You must pass through a gate within three seconds
of the last one to get "x2", "x3", etc...multiplying your score with
each gate. If you don't hit one within three seconds of the last one,
you'll start over again at "x1". The first Emblem is received just for
completing the game. The second Emblem is received for beating a high
score of 10000 points. To do this it is ABSOLUTELY necessary that you
do NOT lose your "chain" of gates (skip that one ramp), and that you
beat the game fast enough to receive the 5000 point Time Bonus. Of
course, there's always the hard way... Ever tried hitting that one ramp
over and over and over and over and over...?
(2 Emblems total)
------------------------------
e. Chao
------------------------------
This sub-chapter will only tell you where to find the special Chao Eggs
and the locations of the Chao Gardens. I will not go in-depth into how
to raise a good Chao and such... If you want that information I highly
recommend Mike White's excellent A-Life FAQ which can be found at
GameFAQs.com. There are 5 Sonic Emblems to be earned from the Chao
Races.
CHAO GARDENS
---------
Station Square:
Enter the Station Square Hotel. Take the left elevator upstairs.
Mystic Ruin:
Enter the cave that is to the left of Tails' Workshop. Head down it
and jump in the mine-cart.
Egg Carrier:
Enter the interior of the Carrier. On the high end, spell out the word
"EGGMAN" by jumping on the floor plates. Head through the door and
jump on the transport plate.
CHAO EGGS
---------
Gold Egg:
Take the stone from Station Square's courtyard (where you first fought
Chaos 0). It's in the grass on your immediate left as you enter. Now
carry it back to the Antique Shop. Put it down and take the Gold Egg.
Now place the stone on the pedestal to re-open the doors. Take your
Egg and head out.
Silver Egg:
At the Mystic Ruin's Lake, push in a protruding rock on the wall. An
Egg will pop out. Wait for it to float to shore before picking it up
and carrying it off.
Black Egg:
In the interior of the Egg Carrier, there are three doors next to
each other on the bottom floor. Take the one on the right and walk
past the Hedgehog Hammer sub-game and take the door on the opposite
side of the room. Jump on the second button to open the second jail-
cell to take the Egg. (Sonic cannot get this Egg; try Amy or Big)
================================================
9. Bosses Guide
================================================
This chapter is ripped right out of my own Sonic Adventure Bosses Guide
so it's not like I'll be suing myself over copyrights. This will hope-
fully help you with the bosses Sonic will encounter in his Adventure
Quest, and if you're trying to beat time records in Time Trial: Bosses
Mode (only available after completing Sonic's Quest).
------------------------------
a. Chaos 0
------------------------------
Whenever Chaos 0 is standing totally upright and you can see his pink
brain, home-attack him. After two hits he will jump onto the light
poles. Run around in circles to avoid his arm attacks. When he jumps
back down, hit him again quickly to end the fight. Three hits total.
------------------------------
b. Egg Hornet
------------------------------
Run like crazy while Dr. Robotnik shoots missiles at you. When he
dashes into the ground, move away, then attack him. He'll repeat the
procedure again, this time shooting more missiles. The third time he
will launch three volleys of missiles, then charge the ground. Hit him
for the last time. Three hits total.
------------------------------
c. Knuckles
------------------------------
Not really a boss, but you will encounter the other characters in a
fight occasionally. Run around and hit him when he's standing still.
Don't get too close or he'll punch you good! Keep your distance and
avoid his gliding attacks. By the way, who else can't stand the way
Knuckles says, "Oh no!"? Three strikes and he's...OUTTA THERE!
------------------------------
d. Chaos 4
------------------------------
Jump from lily-pad to lily-pad. But it really doesn't matter since you
take a while to sink into the water, so just keep on jumping. Stay away
from Chaos 4 and hit him when he surfaces and sits still in the water.
Watch out for his tail whip, since he throws a heat wave at you! Five
hits will sink Chaos 4.
------------------------------
e. Egg Carrier's Main Gun
------------------------------
Point the Tornado's target at the Gun and repeatedly shoot the gun.
This one's really easy. It doesn't matter if you get hit if you have
lots of health left.
------------------------------
f. E-102 'y'
------------------------------
Another character fight! Just run around like crazy and hit him in the
back to be safe. Don't stand still or he'll blast you! At the beginning
of the fight, E-102 will stand and target you. After the first hit,
he'll jump, glide, and target. Lastly he'll roll around and shoot you.
One thing I noticed is that E-102's targeting system actually reads
Sonic as three to four enemies at the same time! Guess Sonic is faster
than (even) I thought. Three hits and it's over.
------------------------------
g. Chaos 6
------------------------------
Hit the hovering ice-bots Robotnik drops to knock them onto the ground.
Pick them up and throw them at Chaos 6 to freeze him. Now run up and
hit him.
TRICK: To get more distance into your throws, jump and then press (Y).
TRICK: Immediately after Chaos 6 gets frozen, charge up a Light-Speed
Dash. Run up to Chaos 6 and perform the Light-Speed Attack for double
damage!
He'll chase you around a lot, and sometimes tail-whip attack. Watch
out when he tries to entangle you with his multiple arms! Four regular
jump-attacks, or two Light-Speed Attacks will crush this ice-cube.
------------------------------
h. Egg Viper
------------------------------
Keep running to avoid the lasers Dr. Robotnik shoots at you. After that
he'll gloat at you. Home-Attack him now. He'll repeat his laser attack,
but now he'll shoot a big explosive bomb at you after that sequence.
Now you have to hit all three sections of his tail to reach him. Home-
Attack all three sections, then jump again to hit his pod. You'll land
on the opposite platform. Run from the lasers and bomb again. Hit the
three tail lights and Eggman's pod again. After landing on the platform
you started on, he'll shoot the lasers and bomb and then chase you
across the platform. It's easier to run TOWARDS Robotnik and dodge left
and right so he'll go past you and stop shooting. Hit the lights and
Eggman again. After the laser attack he'll throw a spinning blade disc
at you. Jump long and straight up to land on it. Ride it back to Eggman
and hit him. Now Robotnik will totally take out the other platform and
an end block. He'll throw the disc again. Ride it back and hit him
again. He'll go to the other end and do the same. Ride the disc and hit
Eggman for the last time. Don't put the controller down and start
rejoicing just yet! Robotnik has one last trick up his sleeve. He'll
try to crash into the platform you're standing on, so get ready to
move. Seven hits makes this the longest boss in Sonic Adventure.

10. Super Sonic
================================================
Before Super Sonic becomes available, you must complete all six of the
individual character quests.
You start with a WHOLE bunch of movies. Finally you will get to control
your blue speedy self. Head through the Ice Cave towards the Floating
Island's resting place to find Knux and Eggman.
You will have another vision with Tikal. Run up to the temple. After a
couple more movies, head to where Tikal is. Follow her.
After some more movies, head back to the Mystic Ruin's Rain Forest. A
lot more movies, including a nice FMV, and Tikal will appear...in the
flesh! After some MORE movies (one of which includes a cameo of every
single one of the other five characters) Sonic takes the 7 Emeralds and
morphs into the ultimate Super Sonic!
Finally you get to the fight! There are only a couple things to remem-
ber: you start with 50 rings. 1 ring is drained every second. When you
reach 0 rings Super Sonic will revert back to regular Sonic and die.
While fighting Perfect Chaos, avoid the blasts as best you can. Gain as
much speed as you can and run into Chaos' base to spiral up and hit his
brain. If you don't have enough speed your attack will fail. Don't go
out of your way to get rings; this slows you down too much. You will
have to hit Perfect Chaos 3 times to defeat his first form, then anoth-
er 3 times to finish him off for good.
Here are some tips to help you. All of the turns in the city are right
turns, except for one quick left-right turn. If you do NOT pick up any
rings, you will only have time for one unsuccessful run (unless you do
something really silly like mash your face into a ramp).
Good luck!
