Welcome to ChuChu Rocket!: Blown Apart! By "Blown Apart" I mean TOTALLY
exposed! As in solutions AND maps for every single Puzzle, tips on
4Player mode, lots of diagrams ("In a text document?! Kewl!") AND MORE!
So what the heck is ChuChu Rocket!, you say? It's a puzzle/multi-player
game from none other than the acclaimed Sonic Team! Not to mention
heavy contender as "Party Game of 2000"! Oh, and did I forget to say
that it's the first-ever fully on-line playable console game in the
history of videogames?! The main idea is try to get ChuChus (mice) into
your Rocket while keeping KapuKapus (cats) out of them. Sound easy? It
isn't! At least without help... ;)
Oh, by the way, whadda ya think of that ASCII title up there, eh? Are
they getting better or what? Yeah? Yeah! Kudos to my bro for helping me
out with it!

Yo! I'm Nathan Tsui, also known as Segaholic2! I have been playing
videogames since the old Mario Brothers and Sonic the Hedgehog, and
have always loved party games and multi-player modes, namely Sonic the
Hedgehog 2 on Genesis's two-player race. However, I loved the two-
player cooperative mode with Sonic and Tails even more. ChuChu Rocket!,
being the ultimate in multi-player/party games, is the game I'm playing
the most right now, and at the cheap $30-$40 you can find it for, this
is a steal.
If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, please feel free
to send them to Nathan Tsui at

with any errors or info I don't already have and you'll get your name
in the Credits in the next update!

A puzzle game with a storyline?! OK, uh-huh, that. No, seriously, there
is one. But it's not necessary for playing the game or even understand-
ing it. I guess it's just there to satisfy annoying people that ask,
"Why on earth would mice want to get into rockets?!" Oh, well. This is
taken from the ChuChu Rocket! instruction booklet.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
In a far away time on a far away planet, there is a Space Port. This
Space Port is inhabited by thousands of little ChuChus.
"ChuChus aren't ordinary mice. We're space mice!"
The thing that ChuChus detest more than anything else are KapuKapus.
"KapuKapus aren't ordinary cats. We're space cats!"
The ChuChus lived happily until one day, when...
The Space Port became infested with KapuKapus.
Oh no! Look at all those cats!
The ChuChus must escape in rockets.
"What should we do?"
"Which rocket should we go in?"
The fate of the ChuChus is in your hands! The "ChuChu Rocket!" launch
countdown has started!
In a state of panic, the ChuChus are running around at high speed. The
only order in the chaos is that they turn right when they hit a wall.
The ChuChus want to get away from the KapuKapus – quickly. But they
just don't know which rocket to board.
Rockets are the only way to escape the Space Port. But there's only
enough fuel for one rocket!
Space cats. They have huge, scary mouths, and voracious appetites. They
are truly terrifying creatures. Like ChuChus, they only turn to the
right. KapuKapus don't even realize how much trouble they cause. That's
why they're really bad cats.

and KapuKapus behave, the various objects to be found in ChuChu Rocket!
etc...

* I'll often refer to ChuChu Rocket! the game as Chu2, which was the *

* than its real-life counterpart. *

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[4a] Basic Basics [4a]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
ChuChu Rocket! is a Puzzle/Party game with a space twist. You must save
little space mice (ChuChus) from scary space cats (KapuKapus) by help-
ing them find a Rocket to fly to safety.
Chu2 takes place on a 12 x 9 playing field which resembles a chess
board. You use Arrow Panels to make the ChuChus turn the way you want.
Chu2 has an extremely addictive Puzzle mode. You must use a limited
number of Arrow Panels to guide every single ChuChu to safety. If a
ChuChu is eaten by a KapuKapu or falls down a hole, you fail the Puzzle
and must try again.
Chu2's main attraction is its 4Player mode. You and 3 friends get to
duke it out and see who can get the most ChuChus in the time limit.
Throw KapuKapus and a bunch of special mice into the mix and you've got
the party game to end all party games! Team Battle lets you take sides
for 2-on-2.
Chu2's Stage Challenge mode is a combination of the Puzzle and 4Player
modes. You and a friend try to complete mission objectives within a 30-
second time limit.
Chu2 is also the first fully playable on-line game in console history.
Playing on-line against live human opponents is a blast.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[4b] Characters [4b]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
CHUCHUS-
These are small, usually white mice that have no brains, rather like
Lemmings from that celebrated puzzle game. They run around in a
straight line until they hit a wall, upon which they will promptly turn
90 degrees to their right. If a wall obstructs a ChuChu's front and
right turn, the ChuChu will run left. If it runs into a dead-end it
will turn around.
There are three types of mice in 4Player mode. The first are the reg-
ular blue and white mice, which give you one point for saving. The
second kind are the Golden mice with the '50' over their heads. Saving
these adds 50 points to your score. The third kind are the pink '?'
Random Event mice. Getting one of these into your Rocket will cause one
of many Random Events to happen, adding a whole lot more fun to the
game.
KAPUKAPUS-
These are the big, slow cats that have even less brains. They lumber
around slowly until they hit a wall. KapuKapus move exactly the same as
the ChuChus. However, if a KapuKapu touches a ChuChu, the ChuChu will
immediately become kitty-dinner, and the ChuChu quickly goes to ChuChu
heaven, as seen by the cute little ChuChu ghosts that float around very
shortly after the ChuChu's demise.
If a KapuKapu runs head-on into an Arrow Panel, the Arrow will diminish
in size. If another KapuKapu runs head-on into that Arrow, the Arrow
will disappear prematurely.

CHAO-
Chao are the A-Life creatures from the Dreamcast's flagship title:
Sonic Adventure, also by Sonic Team. You can replace the ChuChus with
the Chao after you beat all 25 Stage Challenge stages. Go to Options,
General Settings, and change the Character option to the first "?".
Regular Chao are blue, Random "?" Chao are black, and "50" Chao are
gold.
NIGHTOPIANS-
Nightopians (Pians for short) are the A-Life creatures from one of the
Saturn's best titles: NiGHTS Into Dreams, also by Sonic Team. You can
replace the ChuChus with the Pians after you beat all 25 Mania Puzzles.
Go to Options, General Settings, and change the Character option to the
second "?". All Pians look exactly the same. Random "?" and "50" Pians
are only distinguishable by the item floating above their heads.
*The following characters do not appear during game play.
CHUIH-
Chuih is a ChuChu who really knows how to party.
He's the pilot of the Blue ChuChu Rocket.
CHUBEI-
ChuBei is a careless ChuChu who feigns ignorance.
He's the pilot of the Yellow ChuChu Rocket.
CHUPEA-
ChuPea is a moody daydreamer.
She's the pilot of the Red ChuChu Rocket.
CHUBACH-
ChuBach is a steady and reliable ChuChu who does things at his own
pace.
He's the pilot of the Green ChuChu Rocket.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[4c] Controls [4c]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
First off, you must know exactly what in the middle of all that mayhem
you are going to control. It's not the ChuChus, nor the KapuKapus; you
control the colored arrows, or Cursors. Depending on which player you
are, you will control a different colored Cursor. Laying Arrow Panels
will manipulate ChuChus' and KapuKapus' movement.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The diagram below covers all the buttons on the standard Dreamcast
controller and what each button does in the game. Sorry if it doesn't
look like a controller; I did my best!

1. Analog Joystick
Use this to move your Cursor around the screen in any direction.
2. Digital Pad (D-Pad)
This also controls your Cursor, but with a little more accuracy on the
movements up, down, left and right. Slower than the Analog Joystick,
though.
3. VMU Slot Screen
This is where you can see your VMU if you have one inserted. A VMU is
required to save your game.
4. Action Buttons ((A), (B), (X), (Y))
These will place an Arrow in the direction the button faces on the
controller.
^ Up Arrow

5. START Button
Starts your game and pauses it. Duh!
6. L and R Triggers
Use these to taunt your opponents in 4Player mode. L is to taunt,
supposedly when you are losing. R is to gloat when you're winning. In
Puzzle Mode you use these to test out solutions. Press R once to start
the ChuChus running and press R again to speed it up. Use L to restart
the Puzzle if you made a mistake.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the controls for the Dreamcast Keyboard, which can be used to
play Chu2, type while chatting or entering the name of your Puzzles,
etc... The Enter key is equivalent to the (A) button, and the Escape
key is the same as the (B) button. The reason it is like that is so
that you can use the Enter and Escape keys to negotiate menus easier,
using them to select and cancel on menus. However, I avoid using these
in gameplay since they are out of the way and make playing with the
Keyboard that much more awkward.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[4d] Items & Obstacles [4d]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are many various obstacles that ChuChus will encounter on their
dangerous trek to safety. In Puzzle Mode, losing a single ChuChu means
you fail. EVERY single ChuChu must make it to safety before you have
completed that Puzzle.
ROCKETS-
These are the ChuChus' destination, and ultimately yours too. Having a
ChuChu enter these is very good, as in 4Player battle your score goes
up. However, if a KapuKapu makes its way into a Rocket, you fail the
Puzzle OR you lose 1/3 of your mice in 4Player Battle.
HATCHES-
ChuChus and KapuKapus come out of these. Nothing much about them,
except that they are only in 4Player and Stage Challenge modes and
there are only four of them on a battle field. Each Hatch has a set
direction from which ChuChus and KapuKapus pop out. Oh, you can't place
Arrows on them.
WALLS-
The main obstruction in the game. Upon running into these, a ChuChu or
KapuKapu automatically turns 90 degrees to ITS right, not YOUR right.
Remember this, as when ChuChus are running down they turn to YOUR left.
ARROW PANELS-
You place these on the ground using your Cursor and Action Buttons. See
Controls (Chapter 4c) for more details. KapuKapus and ChuChus will
change direction upon running onto these. However, if a KapuKapu runs
into an Arrow from the total opposite direction (eg. KapuKapu runs left
onto a right-pointing Arrow), the Arrow diminishes in size. If a
KapuKapu does it again, the Arrow disappears prematurely. In 4Player
mode, Arrows disappear after about 10 seconds.
HOLES-
If a ChuChu or KapuKapu steps onto these, they automatically go to
oblivion or that place beyond your TV screen. If a ChuChu falls into
one in Puzzle mode you fail.
=======================================================================
|| || || || || << [5] 4Player Battle [5] >> || || || || ||
=======================================================================
Most probably the reason why you bought this game. This is by far the
most fun mode, whether you duke it out or play on teams.
At the Player Setup screen you can be anyone you want. Player 1 can be
Blue, Yellow, Red or Green. However, when a second player joins, he can
be any color after Player 1 (eg. if Player 1 is Blue, Player 2 can be
Yellow, Red or Green). The game will still show the players as their
number (Blue: Player 1, Yellow: Player 2, etc...). This might be a
little confusing at first, but you'll get used to it. If all four play-
ers are controlled by humans, everything works out fine.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[5a] Rules [5a]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The rules of 4Player mode are simple: get more mice than anyone else.
Your score is exactly the number of mice you have tunneled into your
Rocket. However, if a KapuKapu enters your Rocket, you automatically
lose 1/3 of your mice. For the mathematically challenged, it means if
you've got the max score of 999, and one of your "friends" sends a
KapuKapu right into your Rocket, you lose 333 mice, for a new total of
666 mice. Ouch!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some basic rules on how the game behaves are as follows:
If a KapuKapu enters your Rocket, you lose 1/3 of your mice.
There is always one KapuKapu on the screen at once. If it gets sent to
a Rocket, a new one is spawned instantly. The only time there is more
than one KapuKapu on the screen at once is (obviously) during Cat
Mania, and the only time there aren't any KapuKapus is during Mouse
Mania. (even more obviously)
Whenever Mouse Mania occurs, all the KapuKapus on the screen disappear.
Whenever Cat Mania occurs, everything (mice and cats) disappears.
You have three Arrows to place at once. If you lay more than that,
the ones you placed first will disappear. Arrows will disappear after
about 10 seconds. You can't overwrite someone's Arrows by placing yours
on top of theirs. You can, however, change your Arrows' direction IF
you turn the option on in 4Player Battle Options, under Arrow Replace.
Time always runs constantly, even in Slow Down and Speed Up. The only
time time changes is when it stops for Place Arrows Again.
Cursors always move at the same speed, even in Slow Down, Speed Up, and
Place Arrows Again. The only time they freeze is in Cat Attack and
Everybody Move.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[5b] Random Events [5b]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are three types of mice in 4Player mode. Read Chapter 4b for more
on that. Getting one of those pink Random Event mice with the '?' over
its head will result in one of the following Random Events happening.
Mouse Mania-
Causes all the KapuKapus on the screen to vaporize, leaving room
for a FLOOD of ChuChus to pour out of the Portals. Time to cash
in big-time!
Cat Mania-
Causes all the ChuChus and KapuKapus on the screen to disappear,
upon which only KapuKapus will come out of the Portals. Only
four on the screen at once, though.
Speed Up-
Causes the game to run a lot quicker. Think fast!
Slow Down-
Causes all the ChuChus and KapuKapus to move verrryy slooowlly.
Place Arrows Again-
Makes all the Arrows on the screen disappear, and the game
pauses for a few seconds. You can still move your Cursors and
replace your Arrows.
Mouse Monopoly-
Whoever got the Random Event mouse gets a ridiculous amount of
ChuChus sucked into his Rocket, often resulting in some mean
remarks in Real Life.
Cat Attack-
Three of the four players instantly get a KapuKapu sent to their
Rockets, compliments of the player who got the Random Event
mouse.
Everybody Move-
All the Rockets switch places in no particular order, fashion,
or pattern.
Here's what you should do when one of those Random Events kicks in.
Mouse Mania-
Re-set your Arrows FAST! Make sure you're tunneling as many mice
as you can into your Rocket. Placing near Portals is always a
good idea. If someone is getting all the mice, stick an Arrow
into his string and divert it into either your Rocket or into a
Hole.
Cat Mania-
Place a bunch of Arrows away from your Rocket if you're the pro-
tective type, or divert them into your enemy's Rocket if you're
the aggressive type.
Speed Up-
Keep your Cursor around your Rocket in case a KapuKapu comes
speeding by. Don't bother trying to get ChuChus, just watch out
for the cats.
Slow Down-
Nab all the Golden "50" ChuChus and send the KapuKapus to your
opponents.
Place Arrows Again-
What else? Place your Arrows again! Find the Golden ChuChus and
Random Event mice and get those if you can.
Mouse Monopoly-
If it's happening to you, watch out! Everything still moves and
that one KapuKapu can still get you! If it's not happening to
you, send that one KapuKapu to the guy that's getting the mice.
Cat Attack-
Nothing much you can do, since everything freezes. Punching that
guy sitting next to you that got scotch-free is about all you
can do.
Everybody Move-
Re-think your strategy and re-place your Arrows.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[5c] Tactics [5c]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are two main tactics for high-level Chu2 playing. The first is
Blocking, and the second is Trapping. Of course, there are other tricks
and such to help you be a successful rocketeer, but these are the two
most important.
The main thing though, is to think fast, think mean, and think selfish.
Don't do the last two in Real Life if you value your friends. In Chu2,
this is perfectly acceptable, unless you genuinely enjoy losing. Say to
yourself, "If I can't get those mice, NO ONE will!" ...as in sending a
long, tempting, juicy string of mice either into your own Rocket...or
into a Hole.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
BLOCKING
Blocking utilizes a Wall and an Arrow. Blocking will keep your Rocket
completely safe from cats by using this rule: KapuKapus turn RIGHT on
Walls. By placing an Arrow near your Rocket into a Wall, you can cause
the KapuKapu to turn on your Arrow into the wall and away from your
Rocket. This way your Arrows can't be diminished by oncoming cats.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
TRAPPING
Trapping is good when you have a big lead and the only way you can lose
that lead is by getting KapuKapus sent to your Rocket. By eliminating
the cat threat you're ensured a victory in the last 10 seconds. To do
this, you place your Arrows in a corner so that the cat is trapped and
no-one else's Arrows can release it.
Here are some various Traps that work effectively.

[5d] Stages [5d]

This section has maps of all 24 stages available in 4Player mode. I
will not go in-depth on strategies and such (possibly in a future
version...). These are here just to keep this FAQ as complete as
possible. Note that each Hatch has a set direction in which it spews
mice and cats. That is what the arrows stand for; NOT for Arrow Panel
placements.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[5e] AI Settings [5e]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
After selecting the 4Player mode, you'll be taken to Player Setup
screen. You can even play by yourself by having the Dreamcast's AI
control the other players. There are six settings you can choose from.
Weak-
Your generically stupid setting. Makes dumb mistakes once in a
while, and not that quick to react. You can usually send him a
couple of KapuKapus in a row in Cat Mania before he actually
does anything about it.
Hates cats-
Obsessed with the act of not getting cats. He'll try to stop one
from getting into his Rocket...at all costs.
Loves mice-
Obsessed with the act of getting mice. Will even take a few cats
to get his beloved mice.
Tough-
Your generically opposite-of-the-lowest-setting-smart. Gets
annoying as it combines the above two to make one smart dude
that won't go down easily.
Random-
Randomly selects one of the above AI settings.
None-
This player sits out for the game. His Rocket is still on the
playing field, adding some extra strategy options if you know
how to use them...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[5f] Taunts [5f]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not very useful, but fun nonetheless. Excellent for annoying your
opponents, especially when you've got a BIG lead. The L Trigger taunts
when you're losing, and the R Trigger gloats when you're winning.
Holding down the Trigger will cycle through taunts. Release the Trigger
to say it! Here's the list of them, just for the fun of it.
((Be very careful when cycling through taunts, as watching them can
distract you. Many times I've lost my lead by watching my taunts, and
not the cats.))
+-------------------+-------------------+
| L Trigger | R Trigger |
| (taunts) | (gloats) |
+-------------------+-------------------+
| You're weak! | I'm sorry! |
| Congrats | Too easy! |
| What!?!? | Get out of here! |
| Sorry | Bring it on! |
| Thanks! | Yes! |
| Uh oh! | It wasn't me! |
| I'll get you! | All right! |
| You got lucky! | I'm good! |
| No way! | Come on! |
| You meanie! | Give up yet? |
| I hate cats! | Yeah, baby! |
+-------------------+-------------------+
=======================================================================
|| || || || || << [6] Team Battle [6] >> || || || || ||
=======================================================================
The rules here are basically identical to 4Player Battle, except the
four players are divided into teams of two: Blue & Red vs. Yellow &
Green. The Rockets are also divided into those colors, straight through
the middle. There are still the regular Rocket placements on the battle
fields, so you have to watch both of them. Getting mice and losing them
adds up to one total score for your team, not two scores added to-
gether. That means tougher mice losses, so watch it!
At the Player Setup screen you can be anyone you want. Player 1 can be
Blue, Yellow, Red or Green. However, when a second player joins, he can
be any color after Player 1 (eg. if Player 1 is Blue Player 2 can be
Yellow, Red or Green).
If you want and your human friend want to be on the same team against
the Dreamcast, set Player 1 on Blue and Player 2 on Red. The game still
shows Yellow Player as Player 2 and Red Player as Player 3. Can be a
little confusing at first, but oh well.
If all four players are controlled by humans, then everything works out
fine.
=======================================================================
|| || || || || << [7] Stage Challenge [7] >> || || || || ||
=======================================================================
Stage Challenge is a strange mixture of the 4Player and Puzzle Modes.
You (and a friend) try to complete certain objectives within a half-
minute time limit. The 24 regular Challenges and the Challenge End are
really fun, and me and my bro spent way too much time on them trying to
bring our time records down. ;p
**this section is uncompleted and will be finished in a future update
=======================================================================
|| || || || || || << [8] Puzzle [8] >> || || || || || ||
=======================================================================
The Puzzle mode is equally addictive as the 4Player. The Puzzles range
from simply simple to demonically difficult.
There are four Puzzle Sets in Puzzle mode. The first is Normal. This is
the only Set available at first. After completing all 25 Normal Puzzles
the Hard Puzzles open up. Complete the Hard Puzzles and you get Special
Puzzles. Complete the Special Puzzles and the Mania Puzzle Set will be
available. 25 Puzzles in each of the four Sets adds up to 100 Puzzles
to test your brain with.
To select a Puzzle Set, press the L and R Triggers at the Puzzle Select
screen. You can also select the Original Puzzles (Puzzles you made with
Puzzle Edit) and Download (Puzzles you downloaded from Puzzle Land).
The Puzzle mode is very different from the 4Player mode. The ChuChus
and KapuKapus do not move until you are ready for them. You have a set
number of Arrow Panels to place. Not only that, but also which direc-
tion the Arrows face. If you lose a single ChuChu, you fail the Puzzle.
You also fail the Puzzle if a KapuKapu makes it into a Rocket.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the controls for Puzzle mode.
-Use the Analog Joystick and the D-Pad to move your Cursor.
-Use the Action Buttons to place and remove Arrow Panels.
-Press Trigger R to set the game in motion when you're done setting
Panels down.
-Press Trigger R again to make the game run in fast-forward, or twice
the regular speed.
-Press Trigger L to cancel and set the game back to its original place-
ments.
-Press Trigger L to remove the last Arrow Panel you placed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
All Puzzles are on the standard 12 x 9 board. This is a sample diagram.

There are maps, solutions, and descriptions for every Puzzle. If you
are to place a Right Arrow in the top-left corner, the description
will tell you to place a Right Arrow at coordinate A1. The maps aren't
100% correct: they're only as accurate as a text document allows, but
the coordinates are there to give you exact locations. Also, I am NOT
placing every single ChuChu and KapuKapu on the maps. It would get too
cluttered on some Puzzles.

This mode lets your creative side loose on a Chu2 Puzzle-creating
rampage. OK, maybe it's not as exciting as I make it sound, but hey,
your friends' agonizing over your brain-busters ought to be enough sat-
isfaction to last you for...five minutes. On top of that, you can also
upload your Puzzles to the Chu2 Network's Puzzle Land and let the whole
world lose sleep over your creations! MWA-HA-HA-HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[9a] Editing [9a]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
There isn't much to explain here. Just use your brain, ChuChus, Kapu-
Kapus, Walls, and trial and error to come up with some really wicked
mind-benders. Remember, originality counts! Just look at Chu2! ;)
Here's an IMPORTANT tip you should always remember:
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
* Make sure you ALWAYS test your Puzzle in Puzzle mode (the Original *
* Puzzle Set). There might be a really obvious, really easy solution *
* that you overlooked for some reason. *
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
That has never happened to me before. Seriously...I suddenly get an
idea for a Puzzle, and it is always flawless. It comes out perfectly
the first time I make it. OK, I'm lying. I have to test my Puzzles at
least 20 times each, and each time I go back I iron out easy solutions
I had overlooked.

There is a list of options on the left side of the screen with which
you can choose of. Scroll through and pick an option using the L and R
Triggers. When you have an option highlighted, the Action Buttons will
perform different tasks (mostly placing an object facing the direction
of the Action Button). Here are what the buttons do on each of the
options.

[9c] Puzzle Land [9c]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
After you've saved your Puzzle (be sure to test your Puzzle in Puzzle
mode, just to make sure there isn't an easier, more obvious solution
that you overlooked), you're ready to Upload your creation! Select the
Network option and wait for your Dreamcast to connect to the Chu2
Network. After it connects, enter your name and password. Now select
the Puzzle Land server.
To start up, you'll need to select your room. First select a letter of
the alphabet (A-Z), then a number (00-09). Try to pick something easy
to remember, like something that has to do with your nickname. For
instance, my room is on Puzzle Land server S-09; the S standing for
Segaholic2, Sega, and Sonic Team, while the 09 is Dreamcast's lucky
number! You know, 9.9.99 for $199.99, plus 9 letters in the word
"Dreamcast"! ;)
**MAKE SURE YOU REMEMBER WHERE YOUR ROOM IS LOCATED.
Once you have a room (automatically made under your Network name), you
can Upload your Puzzles. Select "Upload Puzzle Data". ((Note: this
option only appears to you on your registered name. Don't worry. Nobody
else can access and delete your Puzzles unless they know your name,
password, and e-mail address.)) Select the Puzzle you would like to Up-
load. Now name the file (preferably something similar to the Puzzle's
name). After that, your Puzzle is ready to take on the world!
To delete a Puzzle, select "Delete Puzzle Data". Enter the name of the
Puzzle you wish to delete (as you registered it on Puzzle Land). And
that's it!
To Download somebody's Puzzles, just go to his Puzzle Land server (in
the form of Alphabet-NumberNumber) and select the Puzzle you wish to
Download. You have to have an open space and enough blocks on your VMU
to Download a Puzzle. You can see the name of the Puzzle and how many
times it has been Downloaded by pressing (X) on it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The ChuChu Rocket! main save file is 3 blocks. This saves your Options,
completed Puzzles and Stage Challenge stages, your times for Stage
Challenge, and your Online ID and Password. It's the red file (meaning
it can't be copied) with the Rocket on it. Its file name is
CHU_CHU__RCT.
The Original Puzzles (ones you make in Puzzle Edit mode) have a ChuChu
for the icon, and their file name is CHU_CHU__E## (01-25).
The Download Puzzles have a KapuKapu for the icon, and their file name
is CHU_CHU__D## (01-25).
Each Puzzle you make or download is 3 blocks. You can have up to 25 of
each kind of Puzzle (25 Original + 25 Download).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[14b] Versions [14b]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
There have been several versions of Chu2 released.
When Chu2 was released in Japan, there were two versions available: one
with only the ChuChu Rocket! game, and another which included a limited
special-edition transparent-orange controller. Both included stickers
to put on your controllers, VMUs, etc. We deprived Americans didn't get
the orange controller or even the stickers... **sob!**
The next version was the Shockwave ChuChu Rocket! game. It includes all
25 Puzzles from the Normal Puzzle Set. For a short while it also in-
cluded all 25 of the Hard Puzzles AND the 25 Special Puzzles, but I
guess Sega of Japan thought that was too much for a demo, so they axed
the Hard and Special Sets. The Normal Puzzle Set is still available to
play online at:
http://www.sega.co.jp/sega/Puzzle/main_3.html
Make sure you've got Shockwave Version 4.0 and a PC or Mac over 200
MHz.
Another version of Chu2 was the demo included on Demo Disc Volume 4,
which came packed in with the March 2000 issue of the Official Sega
Dreamcast Magazine. On that demo disc were playable demos of Rayman 2,
MDK 2, Virtua Striker 2, and Chu2 (what's with all the 2's?!). The disc
also included the full version of Sega Swirl and the updated Dreamcast
Web Browser. Strangely, the Chu2 demo has different voices than in the
final version. Mouse Mania, Mouse Monopoly, and all the other Random
Events are said differently. What's even stranger is that "Cat Mania!"
is said by a boy in the demo. Hmm... The demo also included 5 Original
Puzzles, whose solutions are below.

The latest version is the one we know today: the U.S. release. Ain't it
sweet? I love this game! It features new voices in English, although
I don't see why they changed the voices that were on the demo. Now that
I'm used to the full U.S. version voices, I like the demo voices less.
The last version to be released will be the European release. I don't
expect much to be changed at all in that version. An interesting thing,
though, is that if you sign up with Sega of Europe's DreamArena, you'll
get a free copy of Chu2! Lucky ducks...

Maybe you've noticed by now that I love Sonic Team. All I can say is
Yuji Naka is the new king of videogame programming. Sorry Miyamoto,
Zelda and Mario get boring after a while. Give us something new! Up
next from Sonic Team: Samba de Amigo and Phantasy Star Online! Yeah,
baby! Up next for Sonic: Sonic Shuffle and Sonic Adventure 2! Woohoo!

Yeah, he's my bro, my videogame partner, and fellow conspirator in FAQ
writing. He's not up there as co-author 'cuz he didn't do THAT much
work. He did help me out a lot, though, especially with that mega-
awesome ASCII title up there. ;)
Black-
He's my cat! There are cats in Chu2! So there! Guess what color he is.
Here's a hint: he's not orange so he don't look like a KapuKapu. He's
killed mice though.
