1.Groove Points values
--------------------------------
Below is the table that you see at the bottom in the middle of the game on
the arcades and in arcade mode for the Dreamcast(in poor ASCII art)

                20.000-
               D C B A S

How many Groove Points you get for each letter(grade)-

S-5 to 10
A-1
B-0.5
C-0.01
D-You loose points(please see section 3.Point loses)or 0.001

You start off with 20.000 Groove Points at the first match. For normal
successive attacks you are given a C grade,a B for special moves and either
an A or S grade for super moves. You are normally given a C grade for blocking
normals,B grade for blocking specials and A for blocking supers. If you lose
and continue and you have less than 20 Groove Points, you will start off with
20 Groove Points

--------------------------------
2.Point Gains
--------------------------------
You gain Groove Points for just about anything you do as in attack or
block, even throws.Unfortunetly they are all varied but here's a lowdown of
what happens most of the time

Throws(hold forward or back + C/D when near opponent)
-Normal throws
Amount of Groove Points given- 0.01/per throw

Multi-throws(same as a normal throw but you can rotate the joystick and tap
the buttons for more damage)
-Who doesn't love button mashing
Amount of Groove Points given- 0.01 for initial throw,0.001 for each
additional hit

Normal attacks(A,B,C,D)
-Whether it would be jump attacks, crouching attacks or even command moves. All these
gives you the same points
Amount of Groove Points given- 0.01/per hit

Special moves(projectiles,uppercuts etc)
-This is based on special moves that only does one hit
Amount of Groove Points given- 0.5/per hit

Super moves(super projectiles etc)
-This is based on the majority of super moves
Amount of Groove Points given- 5 to 10/per super

Counters(interrupt an attack by your opponent)
-If this occurs you will often see the A grade appear above the Groove Point
table
Amount of Groove Points given- 1 to 2/per counter

Blocking(the opponent blocks your attacks)
-Not alot to say really
Amount of Groove Points given- 0.01 to 0.5

Automatic gains
-This occurs if you score a succession of hits without you being hit
Amount of Groove Points given- 0.1 for every half a second, stops if you get
hit

--------------------------------
3.Point Loses (A)
--------------------------------
Note that this section is for when _you attacked the opponent_ .Like point
gains, you also lose points for anything you do.This is also based on what
happens the majority of the time since everything with the Groove Points is
random

Throws
-If you just walk up to the opponent and throw them with them just standing
there doing nothing but looking at you
Amount of Groove Points loss- 0.5/per throw

Multi-throws
-The majority of the time you only loose points with the initial throw
Amount of Groove Points loss- 0.5/per initial throw

Normal attacks
-The same applies for this like the throw,if you just hit your opponent when
their just standing there doing nothing your bound to loose points.
Amount of Groove Points loss- 0.5/per hit

Special moves
-You will never loss Groove Points for these
Amount of Groove Points loss- 0.0/per move

Super moves
-You will never loss Groove Points for these
Amount of Groove Points loss- 0.0/per super

Counters
-You will never loss Groove Points for these
Amount of Groove Points loss- 0.0/per counter

Blocking
-This affects the normal attacks only
Amount of Groove Points loss- 0.5/per hit blocked

Automatic losses
-If you sustain a set amount of hits for an amount of time _or_ if you miss
a special move for a number of times(ie-they jump over all your projectiles)
Amount of Groove Points loss- 0.1/per half a second, temporarly stops if you
attack the computer

--------------------------------
4.Point losses (B)
--------------------------------
Note that this section is for when _you are hit by the opponent_ . Like point
gains, you also lose points for anything you do.This is also based on what
happens the majority of the time since everything with the Groove Points is
random

Throws
-Heck I have no idea why but the computer can always throw you whenever it
wants but when we try it,it just beats the crap out of ya
Amount of Groove Points loss- 1 to 1.5/per throw

Multi-throws
-You loose additional points for each additional hit made by the computer
Amount of Groove Points loss- 1 to 1.5/per initial throw,0.1 for each
additional hit

Normal attacks
-Really annoying if your constantly being hit
Amount of Groove Points loss- 1 to 1.5/per hit

Special moves
-This is based on special moves that only does one hit
Amount of Groove Points loss- 1.5 to 2/per hit

Super moves
-The computer always pulls off a super when you least expect it
Amount of Groove Points loss- 5 to 10/per super

Counters
-It's really cool when you counter the computer but it comes back for a lot
of revenge
Amount of Groove Points loss- 2/per counter

Blocking
-Most of the time you only loose points if you block normal attacks
Amount of Groove Points loss- 0.5/per blocked hit

Automatic losses
-If you sustain a set amount of hits for an amount of time _or_ if you miss
a special move for a number of times(ie-they jump over all your projectiles)
Amount of Groove Points loss- 0.1/per half a second, temporarly stops if you
attack the computer

--------------------------------
5.Knock Out (KO) summary
--------------------------------
This is a very confusing system when it comes to KOs.Sometimes you gain points
_which could be as big as 30 points_ ,sometimes you lose points _which also
varies like gaining points unless you were one defeated_ ,and sometimes you
get nothing.I have listed how you might gain points, lose points or have it
unchanged.Note that is based on an average of KOs,it might be different at
sometimes.

>Gaining points<
There are various ways of gaining points after a KO,it could be that you
countered you opponent,did a super/DM,or a special move.Listed below is all
the things you can do to gain points

Throws-If you manage to throw you opponent when they are about to perform
a move.Applies to multi-throws

Counters-yep,simple as that, just kill your opponent before their attack hits
you.If you counter any move at its starting frame with a super/DM or if you
counter a super/DM at its starting frame with any thing that takes damage
you are given a very cool blue 3D background effect and a lot of Groove Points
for you

Special moves-Any special move,whether it be a multi-hit one like Ken's
Dragon Punch or a single hit like Guile's Sonic Boom

Supers/DMs-for the first 4 matches of the game you will get points for a super
move or desperation move. The points are varied though, you get about 7-8
points for the first 2 and 5 points of the third and fourth

>Losing points<
Ah the part where I wonder why I loss x amount of points for doing a DM to
finish the cheapo computer.Heck I'd like to know at what time does the game
not deduct points.Listed below is all the things that you can do to lose points

You were defeated-The computer chew you up like breakfast. The amount you lose
determines on how the computer finished you off.See above

Cheap attacks-Sweaps,if you hit the computer just when it gets up after being
knocked down, tick damage from special moves

Throws-If you just walk up to them and throw them, also applies for
multi-throws.You lose points more often than gaining if you finish off the
match with a throw

Flukes-If you did something by accident, which led to you winning, the
computer knows...

Supers/DMs-This only happened to me with Iori/Orochi Iroi with his lvl3
Maiden Masher(qcf,hcb+A/C/AC),what happens is that the last hit will
sometimes will be counted for the point loss. This usually happens in later
matches(4th match-boss)

>Unchanged<
Not too sure on this one(anyone want to inform the public)and the only one
I am sure about is for the Supers/DMs

Supers/DMs-during the last few matches of the game you often have your points
unchanged due to some strange phenomenon cast by the computer

--------------------------------
6.After battle
--------------------------------
This section of the FAQ covers how much points you get depending on how many
Groove Points you get after a battle(there's a total of five battles in a
regular match, six if you are challenged by Morrigan or Nakoruru-see
7.Miscellaneous)

>Groove Points tally<
This replies to that table you see at the bottom right corner of the winning
quotes screen with the number of Groove Points multiplied by a certain number

Below 40   - x100
40 to 60   - x200
In the 70s - x300
In the 80s - x500
In the 90s - x800 to x5000(varies,the higher the G.Point,the higher the
multiply number)
100!!!!    - x10,000(so that's 1 million points if you get 100 G.Points)

>Perfects<
This replies to that really small box at the most bottom right corner of the
winning quotes screen and how to get them

10,000 points
-Just beat everyone with your first character

50,000 points
-Beat the last character of a team without losing any life

--------------------------------
7. Miscellaneous
--------------------------------
This is just to cover the little minor stuff I like to mention that doesn't
relate to Groove Points

Fight CPU Akuma/Gouki
-To verse Akuma/Gouki as the boss get 85 Groove Points or higher in the battle
before the boss battle

Fight CPU Morrigan
-To verse Morrigan choose Capcom Groove and get 60 Groove Points or over for
after battle 3 and the _Here Comes a New Challenger_ will appear during the
winning quotes for battle 3

Fight CPU Nakoruru
-To verse Nakoruru choose SNK Groove and get 60 Groove Points or over for
after battle 3 and the _Here Comes a New Challenger_ will appear during the
winning quotes for battle 3

Easy Groove Point gain
-EX Benimaru's Kougan Corridor(hcb,f+A/C) or his Electrigger(hcbx2+A/C/AC)
DM/SDM for some apparent reason gives you LOADS of Groove Points once you
connect it,the SDM one gives you about 30+ points. All my top stores are over
one million because of this
