I did set apmd at -L (lowest) clock settings.
$ rcctl enable apmd
$ rcctl set apmd flags -L
$ rcctl restart apmd
$ apm
.
Performance adjustment mode: manual
On the i386:
(224 MHz)
On the amd64:
(800 MHz)
So we are sub-gigahertz in both cases at least !
