I have been silent lately on the smallweb. Not because of problems or loss of interest, just because I do not really have anything to say or to scream into the void.
Now it is gnawing a bit at me that I'm not posting. It may have several reasons and one of them is possibly the fact that I don't want the smallweb to die because nobody posts content.
I know this self-imposed "duty" is fake and unnecessary and I don't even know if anyone ever reads things I write but it's just the idea I guess.

This post may very well again be one time thing for a while until I force myself writing *something* again.
Anyway here is some stuff I'm willing to share :-)
- I've been playing Spellbinding a bit lately. I love the game and how it learns me new words in english.
- Had the flu last week, so I had WAY too much time to spend to read news that I did not want to know (American horror-politics)
- The weather here is really starting to get so depressing, that people light up and must make a comment even if the sun is visible for only 5 seconds or there is a little strip of blue sky visible. The weather really has been grey and dark the last months without even a little reprief.

So actually maybe I do have something cooler to share. Since I started birding I've build up a "Life List" in Merlin.
When we go birding I make a list in eBird and count everything I see, this syncs with Merlin so new birds are added automatically.
This weekend I had my first spotting of a "Nonnetje" (dutch name) or Mergellus Albellus. The english name apparantly is "Smew".
It's a bit of a rare sighting here but the bird is pretty easy to recognize.
