- 360 g white flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 0.75 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 0.5 tsp baking soda
- 0.25 tsp garlic powder
- 0.25 tsp dried basil
- 6 tbsp butter (cold grease also works)
- 1 egg
- 240 ml milk
- Optional - Shredded red leicester
Method
1. Preheat oven to 200C
2. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, oregano, bakin soda,
garlic powder, basil in a large bowl
3. Crum in the butter
4. Whisk together egg and milk
5. Add egg and milk to dry ingredients, combine
6. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead together into a
ball.
7. Roll out to ~3 cm thick
8. Grease and line a baking sheet with baking paper
9. Cut out scone shapes and place on baking sheet
10. Wash with any of the remaining egg and milk mixture
11. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden
