I wonder if the decor of a home should be
secular or is there space for some holy object.

Either is OK.
I like to look at house tours on youtube
because sometimes I like to see into someone's
home without  being there.
Always searching for ideas...
Some are like Heaven on Earth. Awesome
but what's the point, we'll sicken and die.
Maybe a home should be modest.
I think the secular houses can be beautiful
but I thought it might be a good idea, or is
this a bad idea -  I had thrifted some objects.
I got a figure of St Barbara,  virgin martyr.
Nineteen-forties/ fifties type homes might
have had such items. They're dying breed though.

These are just trinkets really,
usually slightly broken.
You can never have too many of them
(hypothetically).
So the reasons it could be a bad idea:
a person might see your holy art and look
down on you like 'you' are beneath 'them'
or 'different' from the 'chattering
classes.' The shame!
Or as if you 'worship' the objects.
It could 'draw' unwanted attention.
They would regard you as from the nineteen
fifties, living in the past ?
Suppose you died, wouldn't they just
clear out the house and hurl them in the
garbage like funko-pops?
Not everyone values things as the owner does.

I want the angels too at my home! I guess.
I try to have here inviting for them.
And one way would
be, a shrine of some sort, and keep it tidy,
uncluttered, a little holy water, a few cut
flowers and another thing I have is several
blessed beeswax candles.
