The HotLine protocol is a communication protocol designed | |
for peer-to-peer file sharing and messaging. It was | |
developed in the mid-1990s by Hotline Communications, | |
a software company based in Canada. HotLine protocol | |
provides a platform for users to connect and share files | |
directly with each other, without the need for a central | |
server. It allows users to create private chat rooms, share | |
files, and even search for specific files within their | |
network. The protocol also supports features like password | |
protection, user authentication, and data encryption for | |
secure communication. | |
