I'm pondering: should I stick with Emacs or make the leap to Vim? Don't get me wrong, I love Emacs, I really do, but in the not-so-distant future I have to
use an text editor over networks or shell accounts and Emacs is just a bit too heavy. And it's going to be mostly programming anyway.

I picked up and started to read a Vim manual, "Vi IMproved - Vim" by Steve Oualline. What makes me smile is that according to the book Vim was originally
written on a Amiga 2000. Brilliant! Gotta love those old amigas, I just sorry I was a bit too young at their prime. Well, I still do have an Amiga 500 &
Amiga 600 and still regurally dig them from the closet and do stuff with. I even used the A 600 one for my main computer for a while few years back 'couse my
linux box crashed and I didn't have the money to fix it (needed a new motherboard). It has an hard disk and a modem, so I was all set. Used a BBS to read
my email & irc, did my word processing and played the games I wanted. Perfect.

That has made me think about how much computing power we need after all? No need to get a new computer
every year, just use what you got. Helps the environment too.

Ok, so here goes. This is my try in "public writing", on a very limited
scale, gopher-blog. Whee!

Ok, but, yeah. There is a problem: My site wont show up. I think I saw a
mentioning of a minimum size somewhere... So, if I just keep putting things
up, maybe it'll show up publicly eventually.

On a side note, I just moved today. I'll just haul few last boxes tomorrow
morning and it's done. And it's living in the midst of boxes again, at least
for a while. I hate moving, it always messes up all my plans, on everything.
But when it's done I'm always happy about the change.

I'm setting up an old laptop to a linux machine. It's funny to see how I get
used to it again, after few years of using basicly just Macs.

And speaking of macs, I just installed Aquamacs, and now I'm off to see how
it works. Emacs, the only thing I really, really missed from linux.
