Last night I discovered gopher, an ancient protocol for sharing information over the internet. I was giddy with
excitement, simmilar to when I first learned HTML and then started mangaling PHP, I was excited by the posibilites this
offered.
I read a few (admitedly one-sided) essays on the benefits of a gopher, and they seemed to resonate with me, light
weight, enviromentaly friendly, full of usefull information and devoid of JS, video and colour - what is there not to
like?
Another great feature I found was the ability to navigate all the information using just the four arrow keys, up and
down to make selection, right to discover new things, and left takes us back to find new things to discover.
So having fallen in love with this gopher I decide I should try to create with it instead of just consuming. This is my
first attempt.
