This is the project gofer gophermap.
gofer is a helper application that enables gopherspace browsing
in the default system browser on any platform that gofer can be
compiled on. At this time (Dec 2025), prebuilt macOS and debian
packages are available.
gofer isn't a browser extension. Extensions are browser specific
and break with browser updates. gofer only uses the browser for
gopher:// links and to display results, and is otherwise
independent of the browser.
gofer generally follows RFC 1436. Non-standard item types are
flagged and gopher+ enhancements are ignored.
