This week I had my first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) class. This is | |
something I've wanted to learn for the past years, but I've never | |
been in enough shape to attend. To be honest, I'm not in shape rig | |
now and the first class showed me exactly that, but I'm definitely | |
better than one year ago. | |
I think I've mentioned it here already, but I lost more than 50kg | |
(110 pounds) in the last year. I'm not in shape and lost a lot of | |
muscle fat besides the fat, so there is a lot of room for | |
improvement. I can however do one hour of exercises and not pass | |
out :) | |
About BJJ itself, the first class was overwhelming. There are just | |
too many things to learn, from basic etiquette on the mat (how to | |
greet people, how/when to ask questions, when to talk, how much | |
resistance to employ etc.) to the martial art itself, and learning | |
everyones' names. There is so much going on and so much to pay | |
attention, it's hard to keep focus. I just have to take things | |
little by little. | |
I really liked it and tomorrow I have my second class. | |
