Music Madness
Monday Mar 19 10:08:39 2012
It's finally that time of year again - it's March Madness! Yes,
basketball season is in full swing, and people are rife with eagern
to complete their brackets and share them with friends, family, and
coworkers. I am, unfortunately, not participating in the Madness.
Basketball's not really my thing... I'd rather hack away at the com
or sit down at the piano or with a trumpet and play a tune. Not to
that I'm totally against sports, their just not my favored form of
entertainment.
That's where the Wind Band Composition Bracket comes in. It's a
competition hosted by Tone Deaf Comics. It's a competition which pi
popular songs for wind band against one another. The winner is then
chosen by popular vote. As of right now, the championship is in the
"Sweet Sixteen" phase. It will be over on April 2nd, when the "best
song for wind band has been chosen.
If you're a music geek like me, it's certainly an enjoyable way to
spend an afternoon. If not, there's some great music to enjoy if yo
never really listened to "classical" music before. Who knows, you m
just like it!
