This week I have started using bitlbee on a regular basis. I had |
|
tried it for a short while several months ago but I hadn't decided |
|
become a full time user. There were two main reasons for that: Firs |
|
I was too used to my graphical clients (usually amsn and occasional |
|
emesene) and second, I always used centerim (formerly known as |
|
centericq) on the cli. |

|
So what happened that made me change my mind? First, I suddenly |
|
stopped using gui clients and exclusively used centerim. I do love |
|
centerim but then having an irc client 24/7 (thanks to irssi proxy) |
|
thought that it would be a great idea to use bitlbee. |
|
|
|
The process was absolutely painless because instead of installing t |
|
program I connected to one of the public services. So simply |
|
|
|
/connect im.bitlbee.org |
|
|
|
And then once connected type help. And you are good to go. |
