The chief deposits appear to be at Bukit Besi in Trengganu and
       near Ulu Rompin in southeastern Pahang.  "The [Ulu Rompin]
       iron-ore bodies are a series of lenses and pockets with more or
       less N-S elongation, paralleled with the regional strike and
       shearing.  They have generally been more resistant than the
       country rock and so occur on the crests of roughly parallel
       ridges."[11]
