One of the nastiest mind virus is the victim mentality. Extremely
hard to get rid of. It's an addiction as well. It takes over the
mind, makes you a determinist. Nothing is your fault anymore since
it was always the other people. Deeply sick, you will no longer
need to feel any accountability.
But getting rid of it is hard. It is exactly like addiction. You
are never cured. The victim inside you stabs away, big and small
comments that deflect the blame from the self onto the other.
As the victim inside grows stronger, the person outside grows
smaller and less capable of action. The outside has more
opportunities to victimize the person, ever more greedy to be
targeted.
Taking action is pushing throught the outer layer of determinism,
turning it inside out. While the world can stay deterministic and
menacing, the bubble of action is within your current moment of
animation. You are free to be responsible here, while the bubble
lasts.
