The past world was one of exploitation and leeching. The big ones
did the crimes and the little ones lived off the crumbs if the
big ones.

If you detested the game, you were left feeling like a loser
because no one actually wants a doer around. Doer makes the rest
look bad.

Now as the shit hits the fan I can see quite clearly that the
leeches are going to have a hard time adjusting and many of the
exploiters are having trouble as well. But the doers are actually
in a big advantage since they never had it easy to begin with.

What I mean by a leech is someone who spends their life mostly by
supporting one sort of evil empire or another and getting paid
relatively well. They are basically just occupying a chair and
doing the bidding of this faceless entity. The leech knows on
some level that the job is causing more harm than good, but he
assumes that someone is going to do the job anyway so it might
as well be him.

The leech has no drive of his own. He isn't ambitious and he
doesn't think much of ethics since what's the point, right?
He does stuff for money and that's it.

The times we are in now demand creativity and imagination. I want
to be two steps ahead of the curve, not behind. Almost everyone
I know is a doer but I would say I am a bit faster than them to
ingest the bad news. I am slightly paranoid by nature and sort of
stoic I suppose. This means I don't sugar coat the situation and
even in normal situations I am always the one to map all the ways
an enterprice might fail.

While many seem to hope some sort of a miracle, I am thinking
about downsizing. I still have a job so that helps. I can work
from home so I am not tied to any city. I have to get rid of our
city apartment. I don't see how things are going to get back to
normal enough that we would come back to the city from the farm
where we are currently residing.

While the farm is not exactly an easy lifestyle it is very
comforting to have almost unlimited options for improving your
situation. In the city you are trapped in a box, basically,
unable to really have any real control of your surroundings.

I had to come organize some stuff in the city today after being
over a month at the farm and it is not pleasant. I see so many
vectors for the virus. The people seem to not be very concerned
but I have a feeling it's because they have no choices. It doesn't
really make sense to worry if you have no power over the
situation.

It also made an impression on me how unhealthy the city life is
even without a virus. I have a feeling I will not be living in a
city after all this is over.
