Teaching myself to throw clay on the wheel 02
First assignment 10 cilinders that are 10 cm tall.
Progress: 9/10
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I made nine of the ten cilinders, the longer I practise
the less clay I have to throw away. More of the balls of
clay turn into shapes that are able to hold their own
weight. The cilinder shape is the one that is the basis
for many other forms. Cups, bowls and vases all start
as cilinders.
I know that learning is very energy consuming and
taking time inbetween sessions is important
and even nessesary. But so far I've felt that it's
not just the learning that is demanding, also the
physical labour involved is very exhausting. I
just trew 6 balls of clay (4 turned into cilinders,
one became a bowl and only one flew off my wheel.)
And I am completly tired. A starting migrain is
also not contributing, but I'm done for today. I
don't think I can work in the studio for an entire
day yet. I hope to build strenght and be able to
spend a day behind the wheel. Let's see.
