Well this year has been fun, hasn't it? I have had to pull away from the world a bit. I'm not even in the USA, but seeing my friends making evacuation plans and every day a new absurd cruelty coming down the pipe is horrifying. In hindsight I should have turned to gemini more, I suppose. Even though the same topics are on everyone's minds here, at least they're a relatively slow feed instead of a torrent.
I guess as far as projects go things have been quite slow. Between winter, a car crash, a holiday back to Australia, a leaky dishwasher damaging the house, and the process for getting both the car and house fixed, I haven't had the mental energy for fun things. I did get my commuter bike (now named Frank, since it's a bit of a frankenbike) worning and I've been riding to work at least some days of the week - weather depending. I really need something like a cleverhood. I'm started working on the green bike a few days ago. I really don't want to open up the hub so soon after overhauling it, but it still doesn't shift correctly. I've only done about 1100km since I put it back together. But it did sit idle for most of last year.
I haven't done my ham radio study because of the above. Though I have passed the practice exam so it shouldn't take too much. I am out of practice with that kind of thing, and the ham-specific regulations are still a bit opaque to me. Also I should probably introduce myself to the local hams and.... Yeah I'll get around to that.
