Who is and who is not on Gopher
===============================

I  am reading  Jirka's Phlog  because  there are  many articles  about
Palms, and  how to use that  hardware nowadays. His last  article, the
[Pocket Gopher] is mainly about using  the Gopher on the go, of course
with a Palm  theme. But there is also one  interesting thing. I wasn't
aware  that  the  [Cameron  Kaiser]   has  so  many  projects  outside
Gophersphere. When I started to read about the Gopher, I came onto the
"Why is Gopher Still Relevant?" article. Probably it's one of the most
popular article on  the Gophersphere now, and it's  linked across many
Gopherholes.  Then I  learned  that he  is  behind all  /Floodgap.com/
activities. So he  is a very important person in  the Gopher world. He
is active, but as I've seen  in Jirka's article some of the activities
about Gopher he is describing outside it. The interesting thing is why
he didn't put it on the Gopher.

The  second  thing  which  has  much  buzz  about  is  [Steven  Frank;
Co-founder  of Panic]  Gopherhole.  I  put info  about  it firstly  on
Usenet. Then I saw information about  it in several places, like posts
on  Mastodon.  One  of  the  causes of  putting  Panic's  presence  on
Gophersphere is probably an attempt to interest potential retro-themed
customers, who could be on the  Gopher. And looking at one response on
the Mastodon, it could be working.  There is also a new Gemini capsule
[Playdate  Game Reviews]  about games  from Panic's  handheld. "Nobody
expects the Spanish Inquisition!" So  Gophersphere is the platform for
marketing also.
