Lynx, Lagrange, Elpher
======================

My first Gopher client was Lynx. I found there was no need to look for
anything fancier since I had a tool that works. Lynx is enough to open
most Gopher addresses.

Then I found out that Lagrange also handles Gopher. This is important
because Lagrange is available for both computer and mobile devices. For
a long time, I mainly used this client.

Today I found that it is worth trying what Elpher is. I recently read a
few notes on this: [Praise for Elpher] and [Back to Gopher].

Each of them praises Elpher's link detection, which makes it easy to
navigate and jump to the next pages. In fact, it is as convenient as it
is in the Gemini text-based browsers.

Compared to the Lynx, we also have a more pleasing gophermap-level
content presentation.

The last plus for me is that I can get used to Emacs. I work in vim on a
daily basis, so I had to get used to the new keyboard shortcuts as well.
Maybe I'll discover this editor because I've never been able to do it
before. Now I will be doing this while using Elper.

There is another dark horse - Offpunk. Version 1.0 was announced on the
author's glog: [Offpunk and Cyberpunk: Text and Voice]. I haven't tried
it yet.
