Last night was spent watching a new series on Netflix. Because of that, I overslept for work by a good half an hour. I wonder if it can be watched outside Poland and if it's as amusing. The series follows a similar format to "What We Do in the Shadows," but instead of vampires, it explores the exaggerated thoughts of a Polish nobleman from 1670 (the year 1670 is also the title of the series.). It humorously mocks all the old flaws and superstitions, cleverly modernized. A good comedy series allows us to laugh at ourselves, and this one certainly does. The nobleman's ideas for exploiting serfs are presented with the language of today's corporations and trendy coaches.
The series includes a series of gags about modern inventions, such as a toothbrush, which the main character doesn't believe in because he adheres to the "end of history" philosophy (believing that nothing more can be invented because there's no need for it).
Ahead of me are a few more episodes, so I'll probably encounter a follower of the flat Earth theory from that time.
