So I have finally sorted my new phone out. It was surprisingly
painless with Google's back up managing to set the layout exactly like
the last one and installing most apps. The biggest issue was copying
my podcasts across and that was mostly down to having to find the
folder for Pocket Casts. I have been happy with the phone. I should
be.... it is just a slightly more modern chip set since the last one.
My main annoyances has been with the addition of a dedicated google
assistant button which is above the volume and power button. It means
everything is off what I am used to. It sort of makes the power button
easier to reach with my little hands which is good. I can get used to
this even if it annoys me that I cannot map the button to something
useful. The other annoyance is having the speaker on the bottom of the
phone. I keep covering it. Thankfully the volume is pretty damn loud
on the Moto G30 compared to the G7. All in all, I am pretty happy with
it and I am sure it will do what I want for a fair number of years.
Unless I crack the screen again that is!!
