August 15th, 2012:

I finally found the time to install Windows 2000 Pro on the
SunPCI-II.  The missus needed a nap, so I had an hour to kill... thus the
install.  When you're (happily) married, you gotta strike while the iron
is hot!

The install went well, but I'm not happy with the way the
SunPCi-II software handles the external monitor.  Under Windows 98SE and
Windows XP Pro, the external monitor worked "out of the box".  Under
Windows 2000, however, both the internal SunPCi software window (that
would display on the Solaris 10 screen) and external monitor come up as
separate monitors.  It's simply a matter of changing the external monitor
to be the main monitor, then disabling the internal one in Display
Properties under Windows (the software won't let you use both).  Not a big
deal, really, but I wouldn't have known what I needed to do without
reading the SunPCi-II manual when I got stuck...

In other news, one of the parts I needed for the Ultra 5 arrived
yesterday... but I won't install it until I pick up the rest of the parts
I need.  I want to install everything in one shot.
