August 3rd, 2012:

The RAM arrived in town yesterday.  I'm fairly impressed, as it
only took TWO DAYS fromt he time I ordered it (Tuesday morning) until I
got the delivery slip on Thursday evening.

Unfortunately, my wife and I had plans last night, so I had to
wait until after work today to pick it up from the Fed Ex depot.

Of course, I wasted no time... the moment we arrived home, I fed
the cats, kissed my wife "goodbye" and headed to the Lab to install the
RAM.  To be honest, I was expecting disappointment, but my eyes lit up the
second I saw "1024Mb (50ns)" in the Ultra 5's banner upon booting.

The extra RAM doesn't seem to make MUCH difference in performance,
but it's nice to know it's there if/when I need it.

So, that's another piece of the puzzle in place.  The next piece
is already en route from England, and preparations are underway for it's
arrival (hopefully) next week.
