Well it's been a while since I wrote anything in the old phlog
which is a a shame I know, but life has been so damn busy lately.
No way getting around that I guess.

For a long time my sole intel desktop has been an original
Microsoft Surface Book. At the time I really thought I would be
detaching the screen all the time and living my best life, but
sadly I found I really didn't like that mode, and compared to an
iPad found it quite clunky.

Over time I ended up triple boot enabling it with Windows, Linux
Mint and a free chromeos variant. But I could never really get
away from Windows. Until recently.

I decided to hit eBay and see what I could find by the way of a
used thinkpad on the cheap. Lo and behold I scored a nice clean
T540p i5 with 8gb ram and a 160gb disk. Which enabled me to
finally start dabling with a bare metal OpenBSD install (7.3)!

After I RTFM a bit, I ended us with a nice minimal OpenBSD install
with the CWM window manager.

So far it's been failry fun and new experience that had piqued my
curiosity and given me a glimpse of that spark of joy I used to
have with technology.

Honestly, whoever said to work a job doing something you love
and no days will ever feel like work. Didn't follow their advice
for 30 years before writing that.  I've become very jaded as the
decades pile up and grown very tired of technology.  So having
a glimpse of the past was a nice surprise. Anyway, that's all
for now.  Cheers!
