As I sat tonight watching the President giving his State of the Union
address I could not help but feel that the entire spectacle was
nothing but a waste of time. Trump blathered on about his greatness,
gave lip service to veterans and victims, boasted about removing the
most regulations, which consequently were almost all aimed at worsening
our environment and raping out natural resources for political gain.

It just seemed like a terrible joke.

And yet, I have to ask myself if I am feeling this way because I am
not a Trump supporter? Or because I am a Democrat, because I am still
lamenting the loss of intelligence and statesmanship that we had with
Obama.

It honestly is a very real possibility. At the end of the speech I
felt nothing but disgust because this president is a liar. A well
documented and fact checked liar. How can anyone believe him? How
can I believe him? The answer is that I cannot.

These last two years have been the first time that I have ever given
serious consideration to moving to Canada.  I love this country, I
am a military veteran, the very type of person whose bedrock should
be the strongest and most unshakable.

But I've considered moving often. I don't like the direction this
country is going, change needs to happen. Or maybe one day I will
move. Only time will tell.
