Weather: cool dry spring

drinking coffees from royal new york to help k select a new
espresso base:

---

orgainic ethiopa natural sidamo royal select mwp decaf
this one tricked us!  a decaf that could be objectively called
"good" without the qualifier "for a decaf".  "Mountain Water" decaf
process.  Faint hints of berry, mostly chocolate dominant. Medium
acidity, fairly sweet.

1500 - 2000 m elevation
"heirloom" varietals

---

organic colombia sierra nevada sol naciente (org, fair trade)
nutty notes, very well balanced.  one of those "it's acidic, but
can't pick out the flavor notes beyond base coffee".  they say
plum...sure, plum.  go with that.

950 - 1200 m
catura, colombia varietals
fully washed, patio dried

---

organic guatemala shb huehuetenango asobagri cafe de mujeres
k says it tastes like last year's crop.  women-produced coffee.
less sweet, less balanced.  acidity still there, but not as nice.

1400 - 1600 m
bourbon, catimor, catuai, caturra
washed and patio dried
