I recently converted the 'mkgopherentry' shell script that many here at SDF
use for their phlogs to perl.

You can get it in my gopher code directory. It's fairly simple to use, you
call it with a post title and file, and it takes care of updating your
gophermap. It has no features beyond that - no capability for embedded links
in posts, for example (grab slerm if you want all the bells and whistles,
although gopher moles don't run here at SDF anymore). But its simplicity
will be a draw for many. The phlog you are reading now was generated with
phlogit.

Note that anything you have your phlog directory's gophermap before running
this for the first time will be preserved, always showing up at the bottom,
below any new posts. This gives you a way to have a static phlog footer.
