Subject: Moving

Good flippin' grief, there must be some primitive human impulse
that makes people give you stuff when you announce you are
leaving/moving away from somewhere.  Perhaps it is an evolutionary,
subconscious instinct that you must nugeed "supplies", since you
are undertaking some sort of journey or migration.

So far the score i have received: a huge bag of fancy yarn, more
than i could knit in the rest of my life; two agave plants; a
party-size metal silex type coffeepot, a gram parsons record (?)
and one late-night burrito.

Oh boy, burrito quality control certainly goes to hell after 2 am.
i suppose everyone manning a taco truck at that hour is half-asleep
and cutting corners, or they just assume the customers at that hour
must have just stumbled out of the nearest boozery are are thus to
drunk to notice that, for example, they left off the salsa.

(Eating a dry burrito on the sidewalk at 3 am and reading the
letters of Heloise and Abelard. Rock'n'roll.)
