() 90's style   - The LAPD uniforms honestly don't look very dated at all.  I have no idea how many people have curtains surrounding their outdoor hot tub, but I can only assume the answer is very close to zero.  All the 90's punk/punk-adjacent on display at Club Tepes: It's like some wonderful time
capsule from MTV in 1994 exploded!  The glass bricks in Kristen's apt scream late 80's early 90's; they were everywhere in movies and TV to denote you were in a fancy location.  More cream colored curtains draped over the windows - probably the same ones from the hot tub scene.
Marble and steel abound in Kristen's place.

() 90's tech    - The office phone used by Mulder at the LAPD looks like it chainsmokes and is 1 day away from retirement - it's that rough.  Mulder's penlight would be dwarfed by even the most modest of smartphone flashlights.  Hardcopy, so much hardcopy - printouts, photocopies, file folders and
the like.  The stack of stereo gear is pretty awesome - no Alexa speakers to be found.  What appears to be an early Sub-Zero refridgerator alongside an in-wall over with big, chunky buttons and knobs & an analog clock/timer!

() 90's life    - eerily prescient opening with the California wildfires going on (as of Jan. 2025).  Mulder's office has more binders than anyone under the age of 35 has seen in their life.  Phonebook sighting!  The fact people could call up and ask about an employee without anyone
batting an eye continues to astonish.  The felt board office signage would be a sleek, steel & glass installation today - even at a bloodbank.  Mulder's mention/fear of AIDS is timely in 1994.

Notes: Definitely a different feel without Scully present.  Ken Kramer (Dr. Browning) shows up for his second of 3 X-Files appearances - all doctors, no less.  Fun Ken Kramer fact: He also played a physician (among other parts) in the excellent Nero Wolfe TV series on A&E in the early aughts.  The 8115 Hollywood Blvd. address of Club Tepes
is a vacant lot/hill in LA.  8238 Melrose Ave. has upgraded considerably as it appears to be a very high-end strip mall presently.
