Oh, hello. I didn't hear you come in! Take your shoes off;
stay a while! This Gopherspace doesn't look like much now,
but I'll be working on it little by little!

I'm LambdaCalculus on most parts of the Internet, and sometimes
you may see a combination of the numbers 3, 7, and 9 on my name
(and it's still me if you see those!). I'm a hacker, hacktivist,
and *nix sysadmin, but I've also done contributions to F/OSS
projects and have dabbled with and am going into Infosec. I also
am an advocate for LGBT and human rights, sometimes musician,
hobbyist photographer, fierce reader of books, a snazzy dancer,
and a pretty damn good cook!

Why do I have a gopherspace? Because I feel that the internet,
as a whole, has fallen under sway of several large megacorps
that want to control and restrain what we can post, say, do,
and how to use the systems. Most of the big internet sites are
now just walled gardens, or worse... panopticons... where our
data and posts can be seen and monitored, or even sold off. Back
in the days, before the likes of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.,
we had Gopher, FIDONET, BBSes, IRC, Usenet, and such. Yes, we
did have some services like CompuServe, QuantumLink (pre-AOL),
Prodigy, GeNIE, The WeLL, and such, and yes, they all fell as well,
but something about those old services felt much nicer than what
we have today.

But anyway, today's modern services are now overly corporatized.
Everyone knows the recent goings on at Twitter, and we had the
new Eternal September: Eternal October... October 2022, where a
mass exodus began that took many Twitter users over to Mastodon,
a decentralized, Twitter-like system that's part of the Fediverse.
The Fediverse feels like a return to the old school days, and it
aims to help put the power back in our hands, not those of the
corporations.

I'm on the Fediverse if you want to find me there:
