Well, to be honest: Nothing remarkable happened, life did
just go on and i thought it would be somewhat boring to
report about the daily stuff. Well, summer is gone now and
we entered fall, surprisingly this year the first firing up
of the oven went without turning the whole house into a
smoker - i guess this is a good sign.
My dad - who is now living in a retiring home - is making
unexpected progress again. We thought from time to time that
he would be not able to walk again, but recently he is
getting better, much better indeed. It is somewhat weird
seeing someone in his mid-80s getting stronger again after a
bad streak of luck. At the moment we are really
contemplating if he gets well enough to come back home.
Honestly: The thought fills me with joy.
Junior is growing and developing at an breakneck speed: He
is now about 2 1/2 years old and he is awesome - trying to
argue in his child logic, trying to outsmart the adults and
often he is successfull in it. "Cat never brush teeth... cat
bites strong!" - Well, hard to argue with that...
Regarding the state of the world... well, the assassination
of that Charlie Kirk guy who i never heard about before got
me an impression of many people that i could have lived
without. While, as i said, i never heard about him before (i
am german... and we have our own set of problems), the
reaction of many netizens was simply disgusting. I cannot
understand it: You may hate someone, but god damn, dancing
an cheering while his body has not even cooled of and his
wife and kids witnessed the act is just, well, disgusting.
Regarding our local media i can only say: Can you at least
have him buried before condemming again his world views? May
be he was a bad person, maybe not. I don't care. But who has
declared that at least some form of normal decency is now
off the table?
On other news: Yes, i get it - we are heading towards a
military confrontation with russia. I hate the thought of
another big war in europe within a century, but alas, it
seems that this is the way we are heading towards. What i do
not get is how eager my coworkers and peers are seemingly to
"kill the russ". Dammit... i think somewhat like that must
the feeling have been before the "Great War". I cannot
fathom that i now hear coworkers and even goddamn friends
calling for shooting down the "Fucking Russkies trying to
fuck with us" (Paraphrased), regarding the current events
with russian airplanes intercepted by european fighter jets.
Has everyone gone mad?!?
Well, it is late now, i begin to feel the sherry i drank
while writing this... i think it is time for me to hit the
sheets.
