Well... it has been some time since my last visit to gopherspace and
even a bit more since my last post. But don't worry, 'tis gopher aint
dead yet!
Sooo, i have to recollect my thoughts to recall what happened since my
last post... junior is developing at breakneck speed, he is now
exactly 9 months old and after about two weeks running along the
walls, furniture etc. of our house he yesterday managed to make the
first few steps without some sort of assistance. Its somehow
.. weird... to see such a small child walking on his own. Also i am
pretty sure he inherited some of his dads fascination with computers
and all things electronic: He is very fond of every form of cable,
remote or anything that has buttons on it, also he very much likes the
loud "BEEP-BEEP" noise his dads old Thinkpad makes when he sneakily
unplugs the charger from the notebook.
Regarding work, its all the same: Long days of boring day-to-day work
just interrupted by short bursts of horror when something goes
completely foobar and - even doing now more homeoffice - i am somewhat
fed up with it. I have now sheduled my paternality leave for next
march to september, this is also the time when junior will start going
to daycare, which requires at least a month of "settling-in time"
where a parent is also required to be present. I hope within this
timeframe i will have sorted out my "career options".
A positive thing: Finally, after nearly five years of either sharing
my computing space with the mice and spiders of our attic i have now
FINALLY a realy office again. Its really a nice feeling to think that
our home is finished (In reality: A > 200 year old half timbered house
is never finished, and has always nasty surprises).
