Less busy still at work today, but it compensated by being
more of a disaster. Despite being hindered by supply issues
again, apparently I didn't have enough problems and decided to
make some for myself. I managed to clean up my mistakes by the
end of the day, for the most part at least. I think my dropping
of the ball is probably due to my lack of sleep for basically
this entire week - I once again got distracted by shiny things
and only ended up getting about 5.5 hours of sleep.
I don't put much stock into commercial holidays, but I do
like giving people things I think they'll like, so historically I
have celebrated Xmas in some way or another. This year, I think
I'm going to rebuild my SO's computer, in addition to gifting her
a couple other little trinkety things. When I built the machine
originally, I pretty much just bought the cheapest components I
could find and slapped them all together with the hard drive out
of her decade-old Dell prebuilt. The result was miles ahead of
the type of computers she's typically owned, but left a lot to be
desired. I think there's either something wrong with the
motherboard, which was an open-box Biostar B250 mining board, or
the wifi adapter, which was a refurb, because it is constantly
dropping connection. I picked up another of those Z270 ex-mining
boards I used in the donation build from the recycler, as well as
a new wifi/bluetooth combo adapter, same as one I picked up for a
machine I was commissioned to build a couple months back, and
ended up liking quite a lot.
Not a lot going on of interest at the moment, so I guess
I'll just sign off on this here. Maybe tonight I'll actually get
a healthy amount of sleep?
