Listening to Luke Smith's video "Return to Normalcy", thinking (once again)
about making my life simpler, less dependent on technology (or maybe I
should say technological companies / gigants). I have a smartphone, so
that's failure number one right there. But to my defense, I try to use it
less and less, with even lesser dependency on Google services. OK, I have
Huawei services there, so I just changed the country of spying on me, but
still, feels different.

And yes, I know that this is not only about technology, but since we are
surrounded by tech, I conside this to be my first step. How do you feel
about this stuff? Because, another story from this very day - one other
youtuber (yes, I am watching youtube, poor me) made a video about that new
super hyper mega cool AI project (BTW, one of the people I am following on
Mastodon had already banned term "AI", not to see so many AI related posts
in his timeline, maybe I should do the same) that creates those paintings
and can chat with you and create python programs just by telling the AI to
do so, check the code, ... And that youtuber was so impressed and happy to
see such thing. Me, on the other hand, seeing the possible outcome of
this... Let's say I am not looking forward to see this improved. I know that
this AI is not (yet) the evil machine from Skynet, but still. Being happy
about one company looking at all your code (sure, the purpose is to find
bugs, but hey, once the code is uploaded to the company server, who knows
what happens next. Right?

Also, to predict the future where programmers will "code" by saying
something to the AI and wait for the result? I am not sure this is good for
humanity. But who am I to criticize programming? Am I a programmer? I am
not.

So once again, how do you feel about this? Do you have any tips how to be
less dependent on tech, what to avoid, what to do... Or maybe other tips how
to "Return to Normalcy"? :-)
