The tall heavy wooden gates are impressive in their thickness. A
large wooden bar stands ready to lock the gates. To the north is
Noble Avenue, leading into the City of Laer. Even from here you
can hear the shouts of people and see the hustle and bustle of
crowds. In the distance to the north is a tall golden spire.

Looking to the east and west, you see people going into various
shops that line Diamond Street. It appears that most of the
merchants of this city have their shops here. To the north the

The temple is very close to the north to you now, you can faintly
hear the chanting of healers and others. To the south is Diamond
Street, where merchants have setup their wares. Standing guard
here is Morgana, making sure no evil is done so close here to the
temple.

A clear sparkling fountain is here for you to slake your thirst after your
many adventures. It's cool in here, with walls of blue agate to soothe
your spirit, and a floor of swirling marble to bring comfort to your sore

Temple of Laer~
A feeling of awe immediately overcomes you as you enter. The walls
are pure beaten gold, with precious gems embedded deeply into
each wall. The ceiling is covered with murals of battles, with good
always overcoming evil. The floor is made of rare marble, light green
in color. Scattered around are several silk-covered couches, for
adventurers such as yourself to rest on. Standing on a small golden
dais is the healer Llyandral, who is casting healing spells on all.
There is a small door to the north.

Western Gates of Laer~
The cobbled street here diverges to the north and to the south. To
the north you can faintly make out what appears to be an inn of some
type. To the south you see more people hurrying along their way.

Hung up on nails on a wall behind a long oak counter are many
different items for sale. There are many works of leather including
bags and sacks to hold provisions. You also see some different
light sources ready to be sold.

Armoury~
The back wall of this shoppe is covered with many different types
of armour, some of which appear to be finely wrought. A large
counter is in front of you, with many adventurers crowded around,
examining various pieces of armour.

Weapon Shoppe~
Weapons line the walls in this well-lit shoppe. Everything from axes,
knives and swords are displayed here. A human male stands behind
a long counter waiting to show you his wares.

Strong Room~
The walls here are stark white and the entire room is well-light.
In the back of the room you can make out an area that is barred
and securely locked. People of obvious wealth, along with people

of you, with other shoppes stretching along to the east. Everyone

Smelling something delicious cooking, you notice a bakery shoppe
to the north. The street continues to the east and west with different
types of shoppes. You admire the various types of clothing you see

In the distance to the east you can see the city gates. It seems
a little warm here, and then you see the Blacksmith shoppe to
the north. Most of those going into that shoppe seem to be either
adventurers such as yourself or farmers.

East Diamond Street~
A strange glow comes from the shoppe to the north, and to the
east looming up before you are the city gates. This street always
has throngs of people on it, making it the most busy street in all
of Laer.

Eastern Gates of Laer~
Tall heavy oaken gates guard the city from wildlife and denizens
who would wreak havoc within the city. To the south, Topaz Road
leads to the residential part of the city, and to the west you can
see shoppes and large amounts of people hurrying to buy from
the different merchants.

Trinkets For Sale~
This small shoppe has only a few people in it, looking at pieces
of jewelry and trinkets behind the counter. The shoppe is well-lit
though, with two small tables set against the wall for displaying
purposes. You step up to the counter to see if any of the baubles
catches your eye.

Tasty Tidbits~
Delicious aromas waft to your nostrils as you enter here. Pastries
and meats are behind the counter, looking delicious. You feel your
stomach rumble with hunger as you patiently wait in line.

Blacksmith ~
Heat pours over you as you enter. There is a large forge here
with roaring flames, and a large dwarf making something from
iron stands over the forge. You see all types of farm instruments
and armour waiting to be repaired standing against the far wall.

Magick Shoppe~
This shoppe seems to be poorly lit, but then you see that this is
a magic shoppe. All the items have their own peculiar glow about
them, so that it is easy to see each one. It is here that many
adventure seekers come, to find magickal aid  for their journeys.

To the south you see many people bustling down a buy intersection,
and to the north you can see the Western Gates. Birds continue to
sing as you stroll along the cobblestones.

The well-worn red dirt street continues to the east, you can see
dwellings further down. Large trees are scattered around in no
definite pattern. The more poor citizens of the city live to the

The trees begin to thin out here, as you continue along your way.
People continue to hurry along their way, the sound of their footsteps

Entrance to The Dragon's Breath Inn~
Standing before a large whitewashed stone structure, you gaze
up in awe as you realize this structure has two stories! A weather-
beaten sign hangs from an iron rod, proclaiming this to be the
Dragon's Breath Inn. A few windows line the structure, and some
appear to be even made out of a clear substance!

Oaken beams predominate this room with whitewashed walls. You
see rooms to the east and west, with large amounts of people
in each. There are also stairs leading up to the rooms above.

homey atmosphere.

Beggar Alley continues to the north and south. Deep ruts are in the
hard packed dirt here. Looking around, this area of town is certainly
more grim than the hustle and bustle of Diamond Street.

Looking south, you see the end of this alleyway. To the north,
Beggar's Alley continues. You see dirty-faced urchins running
and calling to each other while playing their games. You look
nervously around for pickpockets and start hoping that the
cityguard keeps this area well-patrolled.

Making it to the end of the alley without getting robbed or stabbed,
you feel extremely lucky. Looking around, you realize that although
the people here are poor, they are not thieves or killers. Breathing
a sigh of relief, you turn back to the north.

This small home is made out of bleached stone, and boasts two
big windows. On the far wall is a fireplace, with a black pot hanging
over the open flame. To the right is a large straw pallet, nestled
securely against the wall. In the middle of the room is a table and
two chairs, waiting for its owner to sit down and partake of a meal.

This home looks pretty much like the others. Made of white stone,
two large windows let the sunlight stream in during the day. A table
and chairs stand in the middle of the room, with a black pot hanging

Music Shoppe~
Loud music assaults all your senses as you enter this shoppe.
Obviously a place for bards and other music lovers, you study
all the curious instruments for sale. Flutes and harps, mandolins
and other odd things stand up against the far wall. The light in
this shoppe is somewhat muted, as if to give full attention to
the notes and songs played by the instruments.
