Thoughts for July 14th

I am glad to be here  in the gophersphere. The intimacy is refreshing,
folks just  being themselves, not  preening and puffing to  make their
lives  look  better  than  the  reality.  Real  lives  are  messy  and
difficult,  and I  see that  here. It's  a more  comfortable space  to
express  lifes  difficulties.  I  find  expressing  myself  difficult,
trusting people is hard. My blog  gets the rare update because I don't
have much interesting to share with the  world in a formal way. I hope
to share more  personal stuff here, it  would be nice if  it was read,
but big deal if its not, so there is no pressure to perform.

We'll see how this  goes, and perhaps I'll share more  of my story. It
will be  interesting to some,  maybe even  helpful. My journey  is not
unique, but  my experience with  those whom I  have shared it  with is
that  it is  not relatable  to  most. Not  that  I am  special in  any
particular way, rather my path is less traveled. This has made answers
harder to find, but the answers (and their questions) are universal.

I've wanted  to comment or  reach out to  authors of other  phlogs who
have shared their stories or momentary difficulties. Most aren't setup
for comments, and this phlog is not either. I wonder, what is the best
way engage in  two-way or multi-way conversation in the  spirit of the
gophersphere?  Mastodon/GS is  too open.  I am  reluctant to  email/IM
others, being  too afraid  of offending  somebody. I  feel I  may have
overstepped a bound with another person  already, but I cannot be sure
and only time may tell. It seems like IM or email is it. If you are of
a mind, please don't hesitate to email or IM.
