[ Another hot weekend

I have been trying to see the Renoir / Cézanne – Pioneers of Modernity
exhibition [1] which is at the Mitsubishi Ichigokan museum near Tokyo Station,
but I had to give up twice because it was so crowded. The second time I tried I
got there before the 10:00 opening time, only to find 50 to 60 people already
lined up.

So I went to the 'Shinjuku Historical Museum' instead [2]. It is the kind of
museum I really enjoy: very quiet, out of the way, and cheap admission. I found
information there for yet more places to visit in the city, including a walking
tour, but that will have to wait until November or December.

I walked 10 minutes from what I thought was the closest station to get to the
museum, and it was brutally hot and humid. At one point I didn't know if I was
going to get sick or not. Earlier on the way I came across a poor old gentleman
who I think had succumb to the heat, but luckily there were people helping him,
and an ambulance soon arrived.

I see many people now with little electric fans, or these cooling things around
their necks (I don't know how they work.) The weather report shows nothing but
sunny skies for the forseeable future.
